Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1992) - It'd been years since I watched this one and had forgotten how many names were in it even Thomas Jane and Ben Affleck cameo.

House of 1000 Corpses (2003) - Same thing for House, it'd been so long that I forgot that Rain Wilson and Chris Hardwicke were the first victims.

The Devil's Rejects (2005) - An easier watch than House but neither were a good time.

Triple Threat (2017) - Iko Uwais, Tony Jaa, Michael Jai White, Scott Adkins. Bang bang shoot em up shoot em up.

Headshot (2016) - More Iko Uwais action but a lot better than Triple Threat.

Den of Thieves (2018) - Good cast, interesting heists but a predictable "twist" ending that I saw coming for two hours before it finally happened.

LOL you watched Headshot. I love the final battle with the boss where Iko Uwais stops fighting in the middle and starts giving the boss a chest massage.

That was really weird and confusing. A fucking chest massage in the middle of a fight? WTF

Awesome, you've seen it too? The movie opened with horrific carnage and just didn't relent. Still not much of a plot to be found, Iko keeps it simple.

That was dope, he fucked up his heart with an ancient Asian chest massage technique.

Nah, I'm pretty sure that's all part of the Silat style of fighting because I've seen Iko do it multiple times before.

Have you ever noticed how many of Iko's movies feature a fight scene with Julie Estelle? She co-starred with Iko in The Raid 2, Headshot and The Night Comes For us and they had a bad ass fight scene in each of them.

I thought Headshot was on par with The Raid and everyone already knows how I feel about that movie.

I only watch his works if someone else wanted to watch. I even tried watching Wu Assassins on Netflix and couldn't get past episode 5. Not sure how I even made it that far. I guess I just like punishing myself. I thought I had trained myself well with SyFy movies but Iko's stuff is way worse than SyFy.

I guess Triple Threat was okay but that's only because of Scott Adkins and Michael Jai White.

I've been watching Iko's movies because there are several on Netflix right now but none of them seem to have much of a plot. They're all about 120 minutes of non-stop violence and blood letting with a few breaks for dialogue in between all the horrific mutilations and mass murders.

In Triple Threat, I couldn't stop thinking about how Tiger Chen definitely cuts his own hair or how the female lead was Arrow's dead island girlfriend Shado.

Scott Adkins is a talented fighter but he makes terrible movies. Prime and Netflix both have quite a few Adkins titles and they somehow feels like mid-'90s straight to cable action fare. With Michael Jai White I've never been able to see or hear him and not immediately think of Spawn.

I just watched the chest massage scene again and at the end of the massage, Iko does this weird jumping limped-wrist backhand LOL omg I can't believe I forgot about that!

I had never heard of Tiger Chen before Triple Threat.

I like Scott Adkins movies because of how athletic the guy is. Most of his movies I've seen show everything with minimal camera shake and no insane zoom-in.

My faves from Scott Adkins are Hard Target 2 and Boyka: Undisputed. Yea, I would agree with you that most of his movies are pretty terrible also but I enjoy them. I like Avengement, too.

The Cabin in the Woods (2011) - This was meh, Anna Camp looked great topless but this movie was one of Whedon's duds.
The Body (2018) - Dark comedy about a hitman bringing a real corpse to a Halloween party out of necessity. Enjoyable and highly amusing. Recommended.  Cool
Red (2010) - This was alright but if not for Karl Urban I don't think I'd have finished it. I'm just not a Bruce Willis fan.
Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle (2004) & Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay (2008) - The Jerald and Kumie movies are hardly funny and feel like poor imitations of Cheech and Chong with gross out humor and bad writing. It's comedy for mentally challenged teens. I hadn't seen them in a very long time and now I remember why.
Deep Blue Sea (1999) - Thomas Jane fighting genetically engineered sharks. This will always be a classic.  Cool
Stake Land (2010) & Stake Land II: The Stakelander (2016) - A very dark vampire hunter franchise that doesn't feel the need to pull any punches, it's all violence and darkness. But a solid story still runs through both films and I'd hope to one day see the third and final chapter of the Martin and Mister saga.

I am loving the movies in this thread.

Wylde, I have the some of the same opinions on many of that list

I felt Cabin in the Woods was overrated. Everyone on blu-ray.com was raving about how awesome and clever it was. It was “eh” at best. Same with Red. Not a big fan of that one.

The best in your list: Deep Blue Sea. I love LL Cool J’s useless character who is super religious. What a retarded and useless gimmick. Lamest part: when hes reciting the bible about someone facing a lion or some shit as he’s axing his way out of the oven. A+

StakeLand 1 was better than 2. Also Danielle Harris. She’s cute as hell even when shes covered in blood (think Hatchet).

Harold and Kumar: completely forgettable

That description of l The Body sounds hilarious. Where can I watch that?

I've been trying to watch a variety of movies I have and haven't seen before. Do you guys like when I post the trailers for you or would you prefer I stopped?

Cabin in the Woods brought nothing new to the genre and that reveal that the whole cabin experience was for a viewing audience with a tv crew manipulating what was happening as a way to appease an unseen god who lived in middle earth was full blown retard. Whedon made a bad movie, there's no way around that.

LL's Deep Blue Sea character wasn't totally useless, he taught 14 year old me about psychics with his theory of relativity and touching hot women. But yes, his "I am Daniel in the lion's den" as he axed his way through the oven was absurd. It felt like his character was mostly on his own side quest with that dumb ass talking bird of his and didn't really join the main story until the last 35 minutes of the movie. I did also like how he outran the shark in the water because that makes sense.

Stakeland was a nice change of pace for the genre from the tired story of ancient vampires in love with high school girls.

The Body is on Hulu. It was the very first of Hulu's Into the Dark movie series with Blumhouse that dropped a different themed movie each month for two years. I found The Body to be rather clever and a fun Halloween movie. The hitman lead character is a stone cold psychopath without any hint of remorse and he truly enjoys his work. His amusement with everyone's naivety to the actual situation and his utterly cold demeanor towards them reminded me a lot of Patrick Bateman and that certainly felt intentional. Also, Sasha Grey the former porn queen plays the party's DJ!! Razz

No, keep the trailers coming. That way if I like something, I can come back here as a reminder and watch it.

I enjoyed Cabin in the Woods, it wasn't a predictable ending for me and I liked that but there is some dumb stuff in there as well.

"Stake Land 2: The Stakelander" I can't believe that's an actual title. Never heard of this franchise before.

Alright, I'll keep up with the trailers, I just figured if you guys were viewing on your phones it'd probably fuck up your viewing experiences.

Stakelander's title is funny to me. In the first movie the guy is known simply as "Mister" but in the second movie he's become more widely known as "The Stakelander" because he's the most famous hunter in Canada which has at that point been renamed Stakeland by it's survivors since it's Vamper territory.

The movie is more widely known simply as Stake Land II but I find the full title much more amusing.

The Body is the only Into the Dark movie I've watched so far but it reminded me of a modern day Weekend at Bernie's if everybody knew Bernie was already dead and his buddy dragging him around was his killer.

30 Days of Night (2007) - The quintessential vampire movie of the last twenty years. No bullshit teen romance or  vampires with hero complexes, they don't cower from crosses or magic water, it's just utterly brilliant savagery from vicious godless creatures on a mission. I love this movie. So much.

Deep Blue Sea 2 (2018) This sequel was unnecessary and pointless and felt and looked very much like SyFy's attempt at recreating the original but failing big time.

Blade (1998) - A classic vamper flick that never gets old for me. Just classic Snipes kicking ass in a who's who of familiar faces.
Blade II (2002) - But this sequel is the superior film in the franchise and the VFX are light years ahead of the original despite only being filmed three years apart.
30 Days of Night: Dark Days (2010) - Sequel that totally dropped the ball following the fantastic original. A decent cast with a totally forgettable script.
Deep Blue Sea 3 (2020) - This wrapped up the story from Deep Blue 2 but was just another basic SyFy rehash with no real value.
Palm Springs (2020) - Andy Samberg and Cristin Milioti tackle Ground Hog's Day with a strong romcom sci-fi slant. I typically hate any movie or shows that does a repeating day plot but this one worked and didn't make me hate it like all those that came before it.
Hubie Halloween (2020) - A Happy Madison Halloween movie with Sandler's go-to cast of friends, his wife and daughters. Not the worst movie Sandler's ever made but about par for the course when it comes to the Netflix stage in his career of playing characters that don't talk like actual people. Although, Hubie Halloween did bring back "O'Doyle Rules" after all these years, which was mildly amusing.
Vampires vs The Bronx (2020) - A wholly unoriginal vampire movie about evil white vamps who come to the hood and buy real estate like the tired old Dracula plot and the writer's just outright lifted a few key scenes directly from The Lost Boys. I don't know how this script attracted Zoe Saldana and Shea Whigham cause there is just nothing here.

I know who Sarah Gadon is but I've only seen her in two movies in a decade. But what did I say that you thought I was referring to Sarah, I'm confused.

Melissa George is beyond beautiful and while Kiele Sanchez is a decent tv actress and attractive, she's no Melissa George.

But moving the setting from the darkness of Barrow to the bright sunny filth that is Los Angeles was a colossal mistake, kind of like all those day time scenes.

That is correct, both Zoe Saldana and Shea Whigham were in Vampires vs The Bronx. Zoe died in the opening scene but was still too good for that cameo while Shea Whigham was the vampers familiar and was in the whole movie and he was absolutely wasted considering the vampers were played like nobody euro trash in pancake makeup. Lost Boyz n the Hood, was a stupid movie for the SJW crowd.

I don't know if I find any movies scary, since my teen years I typically watch have watched horror for the comedy of it.

John Carpenter's Vampires (1998) - A solid plot with real potential that never quite gets there following one of the most original opening sequences I've ever seen in a vamper movie. Though it also stalled due to some bad casting choices like James Woods and Daniel Baldwin. Being a Carpenter movie if this had starred Kurt Russell it would have played very differently and I remember reading that lots of big names passed on the script, including Russell, Paxton and Pacino among others. Thomas Ian Griffith as the master vamp was also a strange choice for me but clearly the script needed work and got passed over by everybody of real talent. Though i can't overlook the lovely Sheryl Lee still in her prime and the scene where she's tied bare assed to the motel bed. Cool

Funny you should mention this movie because I've seen this one and it scared me back then. I was waaay too young to watch this when I did. The alpha vamp in the black coat freaked me out and him flying to catch up to the hunters. I also remember him hovering in the ceiling and attacking Sheryl and biting her leg. Weird how some scenes just stay with you after all these years.

Zoe was only in maybe two minutes, it was an opening scene death even more brief than Drew Barrymore's in Scream. They got a big name to kill pre-credits but it totally failed to land.

Thomas Ian Griffith who played the master vamper was the bad guy in Karate Kid Part III, which I'd already seen about a dozen times as a kid long before I ever saw JC's Vampires so I just saw Terry Silver in a trench coat. However, I will give you that turning Sheryl by biting her upper thigh was a new one though, it's not something you see in every vamper flick and she makes it work.  Cool

As for my childhood, my dad started making me watch horror movies with him when I was about five. Pretty much every time my mom wasn't around, he was trying to terrify me for his own amusement with them to the point that I became desensitized to any kind of jump scares very early on. Though being five and constantly being told that Chucky was going to get me every time that I walked into a dark room, might be the reason I grew up to hate dolls, movies about dolls and my father.  Razz

The opening scene I referenced was them dragging the vampers from their nest into the light, the same way they did at the end too, just like you remember.

3 from Hell (2019) - I finally finished Rob Zombie's Firefly trilogy and this was about what I expected from him, another miserable viewing experience. Although 3 From Hell did not feel like conclusion to the family saga either as it was left wide open for another unenjoyable sequel down the road.

Mortal (2020) - Nat Wolf is the modern day reborn son of Thor with the ability to control weather and lightning. Though he mostly spends the movie losing control around jackasses while various governments try to kill him for being a god. Then the movie ends very abruptly just as it's beginning to provide answers.

The King of Staten Island (2020) - SNL's Pete Davidson spends the first 90 minutes being one of the most manic depressive asshole leading characters that I've ever seen before. Judd Apatow usually writers loveable loser leading man types but Pete was just a stone cold asshole so I get the feeling that he wrote the majority of the script. Judd's daughter, Maude plays Pete's sister and she's really grown up since I last saw her in This is 40. I didn't realize she was in her 20's already, time sure flies.

The Tax Collector (2020) - I should be used to David Ayer movies being nothing but an utter disappointment by this stage but somehow I was fooled again. This was a bad movie and the fact that Shia tattooed his whole chest for this role, for real in a movie that doesn't even show said ink, is beyond insane. The movie is short on time, short on plot, story and likeable characters. I will not be watching this again nor would I recommend it to anybody. They spend an hour talking like Shia's Creeper character is the devil and he's a viscous monster but nothing really ever happens, it's all talk and random flashbacks to split seconds of violence. Fuck You David Ayer, I'm done with you.

Inmate#1 The Rise of Danny Trejo (2019) - This was a damn good documentary and I learned a lot about a man I thought I already knew a lot about. I highly enjoyed this and would recommend it to anybody who's enjoyed Trejo's work over the decades.

The Joker (2019) - I thoroughly enjoyed Joker but I didn't expect to because of all the endless hype surrounding it. I'd been putting off finally watching this until now because I didn't want to be disappointed but I found myself enthralled by its madness even when I could tell we were dealing with an unreliable crazy sumbitch of a narrator right from the jump. Even when I could see the bigger "twists" of the story coming a mile away, I still enjoyed the execution. Cool

Yep, really hated how it ended.

Absolutely. It may be the best movie of 2019 I think, nothing else is coming to mind right now.

They spend so much of the first hour talking about how they're the baddest mother fuckers alive just fearsome evil men and then the very first time they're confronted by other bad dudes....they get wiped out, in seconds. Just total annihilation...

The lead actor Bobby Soto, I was entirely unfamiliar with and found him unimpressive and way too green to carry this movie, especially during the final 30 minutes. According to his credits this is his second role ever and the last was back in 2011. So my feelings about him being too green were spot on.

I was completely dumbfounded by The Tax Collector, it was just bad and nothing at all like it'd be marketed to be. And this was a 90 minute movie. That's comedy short, not the length of a slow burn gangster movie.

I'll have to review my list of all the 2020 movies I've seen, but Joker is definitely near the top of my list now.

I watched that last night and also enjoyed it for the most part. I have no problem with killing off John right at the beginning. It was a good way to say fuck those other sequels and it was always silly to think that “Skynet” or John's resistance would be the only apocalyptic AI's or human resistance.

Underwater (2020) - I did not like this movie, especially compared to all of the underwater creature feature movies that were made more than 30 years ago, such as The Abyss or even Leviathan. This one felt like it was made entirely in front of a green screen with virtually nothing practical. It played like a CGI slathered snooze fest with a shit script and characters that I did not care the slightest about.

Tremors: Shrieker Island (2020) - Tremors 7, what can I say? I've been watching this franchise for thirty years and right up until the end of the movie this felt like just another of Tremors many sequels but I can't help but wonder if they studio is planning a fresh start for the franchise or if they'll just end it all together. RIP Burt Gummer, the man who was the heart and soul of the franchise for 30 years and six sequels, you could survive anything...except for Napoleon Dynamite as your final co-star.

Knives Out (2019) - An enjoyable whodunit with a good cast but I was able to solve the mystery way too easily and early on. Though, Ana De Armas is a beauty.

Upgrade (2018) - Damn, this was just a fun sci-fi flick. Leigh Wannel, the man who created the Saw franchise is also behind Upgrade. I thought I had figured out exactly what was going on only to learn I was wrong all along. Nice twist. Recommended.

QT8: The First Eight (2019) A solid documentary about Tarantino that covers his career up through Once Upon a Time and talks to many of his frequent stars. I would have liked to see Uma partake but its understandable that she didn't. This is more for existing fans of QT's but it might serve as a nice introductory for those who have somehow not seen his masterpieces.

I watched Knives Out and QT8 on Prime though QT8 was part of my Starz package.

Tremors Skrieker is on Netflix.

And Underwater and Upgrade were VOD's.

Prime just hooked me up, I logged in this morning and saw new additions; 80's raunch classic franchise Porky's, Porky's II: The Next Day, Porky's The Revenge and the 1990 Christian Slater classic I've been looking everywhere for, Pump Up the Volume! I know what I'm watching next.

Also just added to Prime; True Romance, Miller's Crossing, The Color of Money, Dancer Texas Pop 81 and Defendor. Prime is hookin it up! Cool

I agree. It appears the movies in canon would be Terminator, Terminator 2: Judgment Day, Terminator: Dark Fate while Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, Terminator Salvation, and Terminator Genisys might as well be considered fan-fiction.

It also answered a question I had about what a Terminator would do once it fulfilled its mission of killing John. I thought it would just shut down or something since there was nothing left to do. Pretty neat.

It's like what they're doing with the Halloween franchise, the cannon is now the original Halloween 1978 followed by Halloween 2018 and the upcoming Halloween Kills and Halloween Ends will complete the Laurie Strode story. Meanwhile they've thrown out 7 sequels, three of which featured Jamie Lee's Laurie but they're no longer counted.

Apparently, franchises take place in the multiverse so they can just discount whatever movies they want and start anywhere they'd like because nothing matters.

I was sure Burt's death had to be a fake out but there was no surprise reveal just an empty grave and the credits and Michael Gross has said that now that he's 75 years old he feels like the studio is moving on without him as he hasn't heard anything about another Tremors movie.

At one point during Shrieker Island I thought, "This franchise is going to run forever, Burt's invincible" then he was dead 15 minutes later and I was sitting there in disbelief.

As much as I love Burt Gummer if they wanted to do a hard reboot on the franchise and go back to the beginning or just pick up after the original, before the assblasters and shriekers, I'd be just fine with that. The original was more horror than comedy but everything after was full flown slapstick.

Yep. What did you think about that monster at the end? I think we discussed this in the past. This could be in the same universe as Godzilla.

You think that lame ass sea squid shooting botard creature could be a Titan? When it fired all it's seamen babies up after the pods, I just busted up laughing and face palmed like Captain Picard. Then it got blown up by a regular explosion from the sea station? Nothing that lame that could be killed in one shot could ever be a Titan....

I thought I'd seen it but since I was shocked by the ending, I must not have. Either that or my cannabrain purged it and allowed for a fresh viewing experience.

Given that Upgrade is from Blumhouse and Leigh Whannell, I'd imagine he's planning sequels. They just don't do too many one-off movies at Blumhouse because they make them for so cheap and then rake in the crazy profits.

Though I seem to recall reading back in the Spring that Whannell was adapting an Upgrade series sequel instead of making Upgrade 2. But I want to say that STEM was in a new host body so that means no Logan, which is a major bummer.

LOL I didn't say it was as strong as the Titans but it's still a huge monster, same universe is all I'm saying. That explosion was also a nuclear. But those damn Titans seem to feed on that shit.

Kristin was also hot in the movie with the short blonde hair, she looked good.

I just think that creature should never be seen again, it went full retard.

Dude no, a shaved head Kristen Stewart does not do it for me. I actually kept thinking "I would not hit that" while watching "Underwater".

FYI, "American Ultra" is my preferred Kristen Stewart.

Possessor Uncut(2020): What a weird movie. I honestly don't know what I just watched. It's a bloody and violent movie where a woman transfers her consciousness into specific people for the benefit of the company she works for.
