On top of that, I had to download some bullshit app because these assholes couldn't just give me my personal agenda via email.

We got our first snow of the year down the Washington and Oregon coasts last night and it's been continuing all morning. Anybody else?

No snow here yet. I'm kind of dreading it. I used to love snow as a kid but now I hate it. All the mess that it makes and waking up to scrap your car and washing it, it's a hassle. But I feel like it's less cold when it snows. It's always extremely cold before the snow gets here or maybe it's just me.

The driveway at my folks place was solid ice under the snow which I found this out when I slipped at the top and rode my knees down into the street after dropping by to visit them tonight. My left knee is swollen and bruised and hurts like hell when I put any weight on it, there goes my last good knee. At least I discovered this for my parents and they didn't have to.

LOL! Better you than them for sure. Ouch! Sounds like it hurts though. Did it fracture or something? You should take it easy until it heals. Not going to the doctor I'm guessing?

It's really swollen and just hurts like hell to put weight on so it looks like I'm gonna be using my work bench stool for the first time since I bought it. I do all my wood working standing and now I'm gonna be hobbling around and sitting. Boooooooooooo!

Nope Doctor's are useless, there's nothing I can't do about it myself at home with ice and some mary jane. It'll probably save me about half a day and $3k. Cool

Dang, Wylde. Sorry to hear about your knee. Hope it gets better soon.

I'm heading back to NYC at 6:30pm on Wednesday. Why the hell couldn't my firm let us go earlier? This sucks. I won't be getting home until close to midnight. It's bullshit and incredibly annoying.

Never bought a single ticket in my life but my dad has bought one every week for the last 40 years. We are both sitting at the same lottery success rate. Cool

I think I played once. Was out with an old house-mate and he would always buy them. I thought "what the heck". and had a crack. Never wasted money on it again.

Okay. Gonna get my hands on Sicario tonight. I heard about it but never gave it much thought. It is on my weekend watchlist. Thanks, dude.

Side note: It's lunch time and I don't know what to get for lunch! Getting hungry all up in here. I'm thinking Indian or Cuban. Who knows! It's Friday. Anything can happen.

Sicario is on my short list. Has been for a while. Unfortunately the Blu is still $20+ in the US, and it isn't released here until next month.

I'll be doing that myself this coming week, before heading in to the city on Thursday to catch a 70mm viewing of Hateful 8. Can't wait.

This whole El Chapo situation has been unfolding quite interestingly and Sean Penn and Kate del Castillo definitely got some explaining to do.

David Bowie Dies: Rock & Cultural Icon Was 69
Random Thoughts - Page 6 Bowie-10

David Bowie, the shape-shifting rock star and cultural icon who also appeared in films, has died. Bowie turned 69 a few days ago, as knockout reviews celebrating his just released 25th album were coming in and his first stage venture had been recently launched. His official Facebook page posted the news tonight: “David Bowie died peacefully today surrounded by his family after a courageous 18 month battle with cancer. While many of you will share in this loss, we ask that you respect the family’s privacy during their time of grief.”

A master of reinvention, known at points in his career as Ziggy Stardust or the Thin White Duke, Bowie had just released Blackstar on January 7, his birthday. His previous album, 2013’s The Next Day, was the first new record Bowie had put out in over a decade and the singer had not performed in public in a number of years. With the new album and Lazarus, his stage reworking of his character the louche alien Thomas Newton from Nicolas Roeg’s 1976 film The Man Who Fell To Earth, opening Off Broadway in December, the influential and multi-award winning artist was experiencing yet another career resurgence. Bowie — ranked the 29th greatest Briton in a 2002 BBC poll — is set to be honored at Carnegie Hall on March 31 with a concert featuring the Roots, Jane’s Addiction’s Perry Farrell, Cyndi Lauper, Bettye LaVette, and the Mountain Goats, among others.

Besides his widely known work as a musician with such songs as the classic 1971 “Changes,”  “Space Oddity”, “Heroes” and “Ashes To Ashes” and albums like 1972’s The Rise and Fall Of Ziggy Stardust, 1975’s Young Americans and his top seller 1983’s Let’s Dance, Bowie had an on-screen career and was the inspiration for Todd Haynes’ 1998 film Velvet Goldmine.

A pioneer video artist,Bowie appeared in a number of films including 1983’s The Hunger with Catherine Deneuve and Susan Sarandon (long before vampires were trendy), as well as Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence the same year and 1986’s Labyrinth. In Julian Schnabel’s 1996 pic Basquiat, he played Andy Warhol – a fellow iconoclast who he both knew and had sung about in the early 1970s. Additionally, while pulling back from music after some health issues in the later 1990s, he played Nikola Tesla in 2006′ The Prestige, directed by Christopher Nolan and co-starring Hugh Jackman and Christian Bale. Bowie took a turn on Broadway, playing  John Merrick, the title role in The Elephant Man in 1980, among other on-stage roles. Frequently included on movie and TV soundtracks, his “Starman” tune is featured in the Golden Globe winning film The Martian directed by Ridley Scott.

His son Duncan Jones helmed 2009’s Moon and 2011’s Source Code. Jones is also the director of the upcoming Warcraft.

Of course. Bowie was one of a kind. Plenty of artists have careers spanning decades, but nobody spanned or excelled at as many genres as Bowie and he was a solid actor on top of that and very giving to upcoming musicians.

I just bought his new album on Saturday, haven't even had a chance to listen yet

That's the same for me to. My intro to Bowie was in Labyrinth when I was really young and I've seen him in so many others over the years but I really couldn't name any of his songs. I was more always more into Iggy than Ziggy.

Please go away Jennifer Lawrence and take Amy Schumer with you.

Back in 2010, I really liked this chick, but she has yet to wow me again.

Like she did in Winter's Bone.

Aside from THG and X Men franchises, David O'Russell keeps her
employed. Now I'm wondering about the casting couch rumors.
Her downfall will be EPIC.

I was the same, after WB I thought she was gonna have an amazing career but that was the last time I was impressed with her work. She is definitely way too overexposed and I thought that the hype would have died down at least a year or two ago but it seems to be getting worse because of David O. Any girl that has hundreds of nekkid selfies is probably not above hitting her knees for a job, just sayin it wouldn't surprise me if she had a big role coming up in a Michael Bay movie.

At this point, she could be busting it wide open on O'Russell's casting couch.

I have never seen a series roll out like this before. The new TBS comedy Angie Tribeca which stars Rashida Jones, Hayes McArthur and Jere Burns will debut with a 25 hour Binge Fest on January 17th! You read that right, a 25 hour block of episodes. Talk about a monster debut.

This show seems to exist in an even more absurd world than B99 does....

I ordered some microfiber cloths on Amarzon to clean my car. Somehow my order went to Brooklyn (I'm in Queens) and now the status says "Forwarded" with a delivery estimate of Tuesday. I'm going to wait until I receive the package and then complain about it even though I'm not even in a rush to get the stuff. This is assuming they somehow fucked up my address somehow. The order said "Fulfilled by Amarzon" so I doubt the address is messed up. But if it is, I'm going to see if I can get some freebies from either Amarzon or the seller.

WOW.....

Angela Bowie, David Bowie’s ex-wife, learned about his death while in the “Celebrity Big Brother” house in the U.K. and in her grief chose to share the information with fellow houseguest Tiffany “New York” Pollard. The information was misunderstood and the kind of meltdown that fuels reality TV ensued.

Pollard recognized that Bowie had been crying and asked what was wrong. The late musician’s ex-wife had been notified of Bowie’s death and decided to privately tell Pollard about it, saying simply, “David died.” Here is where the train derails.

Pollard believed that Bowie was talking about another contestant in the house, Liza Minnelli’s ex-husband David Gest, and began to panic. She asked how he died, and Bowie says he died of cancer and that it “just happened.” Pollard proceeded to tell the rest of the house, despite Bowie’s pleas not to, and after a major meltdown, the houseguests took Pollard to Gest’s bed, where he had been sleeping.

Rather than calming her down, Pollard becomes more upset after learning that Gest is alive and becomes convinced that Bowie tried to trick her on purpose.

David Bowie died Sunday after an 18-month battle with cancer. He had just turned 69.

I just heard. It's very sad. He was a great actor. May he rest in peace.

Same age as Bowie, the cause was also Cancer.

Rest in Peace Hans Gruber.

Oh wow....I actually hadn't heard that yet. Really sad loss. Rickman was great and like Bowie I had no idea he was even sick.

I am sick and fucking tired of seeing the brave struggle of Caitlin Jenner on every god damned media site day after day, month after month with endless bombardments and interviews polluting every single movie or tv news site that I frequent. I didn't like her when she was Bruce and co-grooming that entire Kardashian tribe of whores for their Hollywood takeover and I ain't about to start suddenly respecting him now. So please from the bottom of my heart, Caitlin Jenner fuck off you media whore.

I love the "brave struggle" and "hero" bullshit they push. Mother-fucker is a millionaire. He will never have to deal with anything the average trans person has to deal with. Never worry about getting a job, never worry about how the laymen will react to him whilst riding public transport. Cunt has the money and means to insulate himself from everyone and everything .... but he's such a hero. Fuck off.

I worked with a guy who went through the whole procedure and he was ridiculed like fucking crazy cause it was at the world's biggest aerospace manufacturing company. He still never let it stop him and I don't recall any press conferences for his struggles.

When was the last time anybody had any interest in Bruce Jenner? Was it for that week after he won a skiing medal 40 years ago? Cause the entire reason reason I even knew who Bruce Jenner was, is directly related to the Kardashian brand. But now that Bruce is Cait, it's all I fucking see. I don't care if he had the operation good for him but fuck off already.

I'm so sick and tired of the Kardashians or Caitlin. I'm glad it's not just me. I keep wanting them to become less famous but the opposite keeps happening. Evil or Very Mad

In other news......today is my birthday! Cool

In other news, Christian Bale's weight is a problem again................Dude doesn't learn....

Christian Bale has dropped out of Michael Mann’s “Enzo Ferrari” movie over health concerns, Variety has learned.

Sources say the reason for his exit is tied to health concerns over the weight gain required to play the role of the iconic car maker. Bale began the weight gain process for Ferrari he felt necessary, but couldn’t safely be ready in time for Spring, 2016.

Mann will now work quickly to tap a new actor to play the role as production is set to start later this spring.

Vendian Entertainment and YooZoo Bliss Film Fund are financing the project, which plans to shoot this summer in Italy. YooZoo Pictures will distribute “Enzo Ferrari” in China.

“Enzo Ferrari” — set in 1957 — tells the personal, intimate story of a passionate man and his sprawling world, at times hilarious and at the next moment devastating, as he faces a brutal challenge to his survival.

The script was written by Troy Kennedy-Martin, and revised by David Rayfiel and Mann. It’s based on Brock Yates’ book “Enzo Ferrari, The Man, The Cars, The Races.”

Bale is repped by WME and was just nominated for an Oscar his role in Paramount’s financial drama “The Big Short.”
