New York-based Rosen Law Firm has filed a class-action lawsuit against Cyberpunk 2077's publisher CD Projekt S.A. due to its alleged violation of federal securities laws.

Announced in a press release, Rosen Law Firm is filing the class-action lawsuit on behalf of purchasers of the securities of CD Projekt S.A. between January 16, 2020 and December 17, 2020, and is seeking to "recover damages for CD Projekt investors under the federal securities laws."

The lawsuit claims that CD Projekt has "made false and/or misleading statements" and/or failed to disclose that "Cyberpunk 2077 was virtually unplayable on the current-generation Xbox or PlayStation systems due to an enormous number of bugs."

In response to the many issues and messy messaging surround the game's launch, Sony removed Cyberpunk 2077 from the PS Store and Sony, Microsoft, and CD Projekt would "be forced to offer full refunds for the game."

The lawsuit claims that, as a result of the above, "CD Projekt would suffer reputational and pecuniary harm" and that its "statements about its business, operations, and prospects, were materially false and misleading and/or lacked a reasonable basis at all relevant times. When the true details entered the market, the lawsuit claims that investors suffered damages."

This news follows a previous report that lawyers and investors in Warsaw, Poland - where CD Projekt S.A. is located - were "circling the situation" and were deciding whether or not they should take action.

Despite all these issues and CD Projekt's stock price dropping around 29% at launch, it didn't stop Cyberpunk 2077 from selling over 13 million copies and recouping its entire development and marketing costs with pre-orders alone.

If you are able to get past some of the issues and are enjoying the game, be sure to check out our Cyberpunk 2077 walkthrough, cheats and secrets, and tips on hacking.

If only those Polacks had spent more time on game play and functionality and less on pubic engineering, those 8 years wouldn't have felt like such a waste.

FUCK NO!!! It's not like they were under the gun from a two year development window. Just how much time does a team of Polack's need to get shit done? They had EIGHT YEARS and they still needed a couple more to even make the game playable.

Fuck those Polacks and fire them all, from the top on down.

Yeah, that's fair. But to work on something for 8 years only for it to go down the toilet, if I was on the other side of this I'd be pissed as hell. Good luck to the company trying to sell another game again, that is if it's still standing after all this.

They've managed to anger gamer nerds so much that they've actually gotten off their couches, hired lawyers because they were so "emotionally distraught" and collectively announced that there will be no vaseline for those involved.

The game is unplayable and everyone involved lied publicly to cover their asses and that's why no advanced copies were released for review because they knew what was coming and they still willfully defrauded their customers.

This is an unmitigated disaster that no patch or hollow apology can fix.

Christmas got cancelled on those mother fuckers.

That is some shit.

But it isn’t a lawsuit brought on by gamers. It’s their investors. That’s a whole lot worse if you ask me. Lying to investors is fraud.

Unfortunately, as it is a class action lawsuit, it will be years and years before anything even happens. And then several more years if CDPR is found guilty of anything and appeals.

Lawsuits rule.

Well it's not like CDRP is going to release another game in the interim, they could spend ten years on this trial and still not manage to shit out another release.

Fuckin hot! They're doing really well with these videos, their channel is growing. Based on her outfit, I had to look it up and apparently there were custom black PS5s available from a third party:

PlayStation - Page 8 Ps510

A third-party team named SUP3R5 plans to release a PlayStation 2-inspired black PS5 this week, but just like the case with Sony's PS5, there will be very limited stock. When Sony first announced the PlayStation 5's futuristic white design, fans hoped and prayed that a black model of the PS5, much like Sony's previous consoles, would also hit the market. The system's November 12 launch day came and went, and alas, there was still no sign of a black PS5 -- until now.

Fans have struggled to get their hands on PS5 systems since its launch two months ago. The current-generation system immediately sold like hot cakes, and Sony announced just one week after launch that the PS5 was completely sold out everywhere. Many retailers were not expected to receive a PS5 restock until early 2021, and whenever the consoles do arrive, they likely won't stay on the shelves for long. At this rate, the PS5 shortage is likely to last several months, so perhaps players can try their luck at snagging SUP3R5's modified PS5 instead.

According to the listing on SUP3R5's website, the "retro inspired" PS5 will start at $649, which is $150 more expensive than the $499 retail price of the PS5 standard edition. The extra cost gets you a sleek all-black console with the colorful PS logo from Sony's PS2 days and a matching DualSense controller, which can also be purchased on its own for $99. The console will come in both a digital-only and a disc version. Production is limited to only 304 units, so be ready to hit that pre-order button on January 8 at 3 p.m. EST. If one does get their hands on one of SUP3RS' PS5's when they ship in spring 2021, a small plate on the side of the console will even tell them which of the 304 units they've received.

As SUP3R5 explained to Gaming Bible, the initiative for these retro PS5 consoles began when the team posted photos of the console's mock-up on Reddit. At the time, it existed only as a really cool PS5 concept and wasn't intended to actually be produced. However, thanks to overwhelmingly positive responses from fans, SUP3R5 went ahead and got to work on bringing the idea to life. "We feel obligated to do this based on the unexpectedly positive response from everyone," the company said.

Because SUP3R5 is modifying existing PS5 consoles and not manufacturing its own, the company doesn't think it will run into legal issues with Sony. Of course, these situations are always a risk, so players should proceed with caution and remember that there's a chance the consoles could be canceled before shipment. As many may recall, this was the case for PlateStation 5's custom PlayStation 5 face plates back in October. Sony shut down that operation within days of its launch, leaving many disappointed and grappling for a speedy refund.

Apparently, all those black PS5 orders were cancelled because turbonerd losers who were unable to snag one of the very limited stock of 300 sent death threats. LOL Good times.

CDPR fucked up. They are trying to make it right. I hope they learned from this and don't promise things they can't deliver because turbonerds are relentless in their pursuit of the perfect immersive game.

I always get a kick out of people calling current-gen consoles "next-gen". That CDPR guy did so.

'Cyberpunk 2077' Studio CDPR Hacked and Their Source Codes Held Ransom
PlayStation - Page 8 Cyberp10
It's an understatement to say that it's been a rough road for CD Projekt Red and their release of the highly anticipated but woefully handled Cyberpunk 2077. Until now, that developing story has mostly been told from the point of view of the developers at the studio and the customers who were let down by the game's many problems. But today, a new bad actor enters the picture. An unidentified person or persons has hacked CDPR's systems and is currently holding source codes to games like Cyberpunk 2077, The Witcher 3, Gwent and more ransom.

Firstly, to be clear, said actor (or actors, more likely) is not an actual actor from the game itself but another word for someone who's acting maliciously or unlawfully, just so we're on the same page. Secondly, there's the fact that this information could have gone unnoticed had it remained between the supposed hacker(s) and CDPR, but the latter chose to go public with the information and the statement that they would not be negotiating with said hackers. That's probably the appropriate response, but it certainly feels like a rather mundane sidequest pulled from Cyberpunk 2077 itself, one with major real-world consequences for both the studio's reputation and the bad actors in question.

We'll be keeping an eye on this one as it develops. It seems that CDPR is more than happy to air this dirty laundry in the light of day. It's honestly probably not a bad bit of PR for the company after weathering months of harsh but deserved criticism of their Cyberpunk 2077 rollout. And no doubt the false-flag wavers are already theorizing over the whole ordeal.

Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition and More Coming Soon
Later this month marks a very special anniversary for Rockstar Games: 20 years since the original release of Grand Theft Auto III — the game that set players loose in the sprawling, three-dimensional metropolis of Liberty City with a new and unprecedented sense of freedom and immersion. In addition to carving a new path for the open world genre, Grand Theft Auto III established Grand Theft Auto as a cultural phenomenon, alongside its two subsequent — and equally legendary — entries in the series, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.

We’d like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the Grand Theft Auto fans who have supported the games over the past two decades. Your love and appreciation for these games has helped push the Grand Theft Auto series forward with every iteration.

In honor of the upcoming anniversary, today we are excited to announce that all three games will be coming to current generation platforms later this year in Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and the Rockstar Games Launcher on PC. Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition will feature across-the-board upgrades including graphical improvements and modern gameplay enhancements for all three titles, while still maintaining the classic look and feel of the originals. We’re extremely excited to share more about these groundbreaking titles in the coming weeks — stay tuned!

To prepare for launch, we will begin removing existing versions of the classic titles from digital retailers next week. For more information, please visit Rockstar Games Support. In addition, Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition will be coming to iOS and Android in the first half of 2022.

Plus, as part of the 20th anniversary celebration for GTAIII, look for a cavalcade of special gear to collect in Grand Theft Auto Online throughout upcoming events this Fall, including commemorative clothing and liveries.

We’ll have more details on how to acquire these in the weeks ahead as part of our ongoing events in GTA Online. This month’s GTA Online events will also have some special surprises — including the upcoming possibility of some unusual activity occurring in and around Southern San Andreas...

We are also continuing to improve and evolve GTA Online. As you may have noticed, we recently began cycling select Adversary Modes and Player Jobs in and out of the game. GTA Online offers a hugely diverse array of gameplay, hosting over 1,000 Rockstar-created Jobs and tens of millions more player-created Jobs since launch. By beginning to cycle the Rockstar-created Jobs in and out of the game over time, not only will we be freeing up space for new missions and modes in the future, but we are also improving the game’s matchmaking by focusing the community on a more streamlined list of Jobs from week-to-week.

This will also allow us to bring back Jobs at various times for special or seasonal events and help reduce some of the lesser-liked Jobs, as well as helping surface some of our slept-on classics or the community’s quirkier favorites alongside special bonuses, like this past week’s return of Offense Defense, Sumo, and more.

We are also looking at ways to improve the GTA Online experience for new and returning players in the upcoming release of GTA Online for the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S next March – stay tuned to the Rockstar Newswire for details on this and more information about the expanded and enhanced releases of GTAV and GTA Online in the months to come.

And later this year, get ready to go on an exciting new adventure in GTA Online as some well-known contacts and familiar friends need your help in expanding their “legit business” — with many more surprises soon to be revealed!

Sony has agreed to acquire Bungie, the video game developer behind hits like the Halo and Destiny franchises, in a deal valued at $3.6 billion, the companies said on Monday.

Following the acquisition, pending regulatory review, Bungie will be an independent subsidiary of Sony Interactive Entertainment. The video game developer will be run by its board of directors, chaired by Pete Parsons, and Bungie’s current management team.

“Bungie has created and continues to evolve some of the world’s most beloved videogame franchises and, by aligning its values with people’s desire to share gameplay experiences, they bring together millions of people around the world,” Kenichiro Yoshida, the president and CEO of Sony Group Corporation, said in a statement. “We will utilize the Sony Group’s diverse array of entertainment and technology assets to support further evolution of Bungie and its ability to create iconic worlds across multiple platforms and media.”

The Sony/Bungie deal arrives amid a buying spree in gaming this month. Already, Grand Theft Auto publisher Take-Two Interactive agreed to acquire Words With Friends mobile gaming giant Zynga in a $12.7 billion deal, while Microsoft said it would buy the game publisher Activision Blizzard in a $68.7 billion deal.

Bungie, meanwhile, has had its own history with Microsoft: The developer, founded in 1991, was acquired by Microsoft in 2000 but later split off to become independent in 2007, though Microsoft was able to retain the rights to the Halo franchise. In 2010, Bungie signed a 10-year publishing deal with Activision but ultimately ended the deal early in 2019 to become independent once again.

“Both Bungie and [Sony Interactive Entertainment] believe that game worlds are only the beginning of what our IP will become. Our original universes have immense potential and, with SIE’s support, we will propel Bungie into becoming a global multi-media entertainment company dedicated to delivering on our creative vision,” Parsons, who is also the CEO of Bungie, said.

Wait so Halo will be going from an XBOX exclusive to a Sony exclusive or it'll be available on both platforms?

I believe Halo is staying exclusive, I don't think Bungie makes the Halo games anymore but I think they did in the past.

They also just released a trailer for a Halo TV Show in Paramount+

I wasn't asking for myself, as you said it Halo. I played it once and didn't care for it. I was just curious if it'd jump platforms because that would make millions of fanboys cry and I want to be around for that.

You probably couldn't find a PS5 but if you could, you'd still hate the color. So naturally instead of releasing better looking consoles, Playstation now sells console trapper keepers to enhance your gaming experience.

LOL The comments are hilarious and pretty much complaining about availability. But fucking finally we officially have a black cover!

Now the problem is, if I get my hands on a white PS5 and buy the black cover, I'll still have a white controller so I have to spend $70 for another black controller just to match the console.

Suicide Squad Suffers A Crushing Year Long Delay
PlayStation - Page 8 Suicid11
In one of the more upsetting and crushing announcements yet, the new Suicide Squad video game is being delayed by an entire year. The news comes from the director of the game and Rocksteady Studios. Sadly, this is the usual case for most games currently, as delays are now the norm due to the messy launch of Cyberpunk 2077. That game saw one of the worst launches in history, and as such, most other game studios are not wanting to replicate what CD Projekt Red got themselves into, so they would rather make sure their titles are in great condition before release.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League has been in development for a long time, and this delay is only furthering the impatience that we all feel about its release. The game was initially announced during the DC Fandom event in 2020. Though there was only a small offering of a cinematic trailer, we were all wondering what the gameplay would look like. Well, it wasn’t long until that happened, as more footage was released last year. However, the game was given a 2022 release date. Fans began to see more about what it would be like to control the ragtag group of anti-heroes and were hoping to get their chance to control Captain Boomerang, King Shark, Harley Quinn, and Deadshot. Sadly, we will now have to wait another year.

The good news is that another year of development means that Rocksteady Studios can fine-tune everything that they are hoping Suicide Squad can and will be. This will be the first game released by the studio since 2015’s Arkham Knight. Though we are going to have to impatiently wait for this new DC beat-em-up, WB Games Montreal is still on schedule to release their Batman spin-off, Gotham Knights, which is set to release on October 25th. That game will see players take control of Nightwing, Robin, Red Hood, and Batgirl in a coop-styled adventure. This will have to keep us busy while we wait for Suicide Squad.

The Suicide Squad story has garnered plenty of popularity as of late, considering there have been two movies made about the team. The initial film was written and directed by David Ayer but received a ton of complaints and criticism. The 2016 film would then be followed up by an alternate version made by the famed director of the Guardians of the Galaxy, James Gunn. The Gunn version was released in 2021 and went over well with both critics and audiences. That film led to a spin-off series about John Cena’s character, Peacemaker. The HBO series was also a hit and has been since approved for a second season. Now that the game has been delayed to 2023, it stands to reason that the story of the Suicide Squad is not going away any time soon.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League takes players on a whirlwind adventure as they control any one of the above-mentioned anti-heroes. When Metropolis is in peril as Brainiac has taken over the world and brainwashed several of the heroes. Heroes that we all know including Superman, The Flash, and Green Lantern are now being controlled with Wonder Woman unaffected and seeking help from any available heroes. However, there are none left that hasn’t been controlled by Brainiac, so now it’s up to Harley Quinn, Captain Boomerang, King Shark, and Deadshot to save the day. Players will be able to play single-player and switch between all four of these characters, or play in a four-way cooperative mode. Look out for the game in the spring of 2023.

I’m fine with that, I’m in favor of waiting to release a working game.
