When I first saw the photo, I wasn't actually clear which man was Jet Li. I was staring at that picture thinking I must be super racist because I couldn't tell which of the Asian men was Jet Li, then I realized he was the one who looked 85 years old, I just assumed it HAD to be the younger one who didn't look at all like my memory of Li but I did not expect him to be the old man. The last time I saw Li was over a decade ago and heard nothing of his health deterioration.

I like(d) Jet Li, this is sad

Greetings from Bermuda!
Decided to take a cruise down here and it is hot as balls. T-Mobile gives me unlimited 2G data. Kinda slow but not too bad.
Hope everyone is well!
I shall return on Sunday. Booooooo too soon!

Indiana middle schooler returns to class with 2 guns, shoots peer, teacher
A middle school boy allegedly opened fire at an Indiana school Friday morning, police said, leaving a teacher and another student injured, the latest in a string of school shootings this year.
The suspected shooter, a student at Noblesville West Middle School, located about 27 miles north of Indianapolis, asked to be excused from class and then returned to the room armed with two handguns, Noblesville Police Chief Kevin Jowitt said at a news conference.
The teacher and student victims were shot in that room, Jowitt said, adding that the situation was resolved quickly and the suspect was taken into custody.
The two victims were taken to local hospitals. Authorities did not provide their conditions.
Families of the victims have been notified, said Indiana State Police spokesman Sgt. John Perrine.
The teacher allegedly stopped the shooter, the student told RTV.
The shooter was not injured, police said.
The school has a full time school resource officer who was in the building at the time, Jowitt said.
The school does not have metal detectors, officials said.
At the nearby Noblesville East Middle School, "everybody just got so scared" and a lot of people were crying, one sixth-grade girl told RTV.
"It's a surreal feeling," the girl's dad added. "You don't think it's happening in your own town."
"A secondary threat" was also made at Noblesville High School, Jowitt said.
"We have not received any information that this has been anything other than a communicated threat," Jowitt said. "We are securing the high school and taking steps to make sure that it stays secure."
"All this says to me is insanity has hit Indiana," one man, whose wife's grandson attends school in the district, told RTV.

That's a big ask though. What are you willing to sacrifice? For instance, I can't give up my car because I'm not going to ride a bike to work everyday. Electric car? Too expensive! I do wish that solar was more popular in the US and I hope it is in the next five years. Tesla is selling or will be selling their solar panels at Home Depot so that's good but it will probably be overpriced.

There is no minimal change or personal sacrifice a person could make to try and offset the viciously selfish profiteers that run this world dumping thousands of tons into the atmosphere on a daily basis. The only thing that saves this planet is a world ending event for humanity that wipes out 99% of the population and that is what I am willing to give up.

I had no mobile service for most of the trip. When I got to Bermuda I was able to utilize some internet but I was mostly out and about doing random shit on the island.
All in all a good week. Lost a couple hundred bucks in the casino, too, which sucked but I'm just glad I didn't have the gambling fever and lose more.

I only knew Phil Hartman from his work on SNL. My favorite skits will always be the ones where he plays Bill Clinton.
I forgot he was murdered.

I knew Phil from a lot of movies, voice and SNL work, he seemed to be everywhere in the early 90's and then he was shockingly murdered. I think he was the first celebrity murder story I remember following because it dominated the tv for quite some time and I had like four channels. When I was real young I LOVED a kids cartoon movie called The Brave Little Toaster cause it was one of six VHS's I owned and Hartman voiced an air conditioner that sounded like Jack Nicholson. But he was also Troy McClure and Lionel Hutz on The Simpsons so to me his voice seemed to be everywhere.
Phil was murdered by his wife Brynn after they'd had a fight and he threatened to leave her if she started using drugs again, so she waited til he went to sleep, got drunk and while high on coke put two rounds from a .38 into his head. Brynn then drove to a friend's house and confessed. Her friend called the police and went to wait with the Hartman's two young children that were in the house at the time and while waiting on the police to finally show up, Brynn ate the .38 and orphaned her children all in one night and they ended up being raised by Brynn's sister.
I remember Jon Lovitz and Andy Dick fighting for years with Lovitz blaming Dick for getting Brynn hooked on cocaine and eventually it escalated to the point after many years where Lovitz smashed Dick's face into a table and it kept going. I don't believe their feud ever ended over it.
Re: Random Thoughts
I love these two morons!!! Did Netflix just add Parks and Rec or did they just want to advertise for an awesome show on Hulu?

I watched an episode of Parks and Recreation on the boat. First time I ever watched the show and I thought it was pretty good. I never knew it was filmed in that style: characters breaking the fourth wall by staring into the camera, etc.
Will definitely try to watch more. Will be switching off between Parks and Rec and Brooklyn Nine-Nine.
In other news, I will be starting a new job on Monday. Hoorah! No more public accounting. I'll be working in the finance department of a hospital here in NYC. The hours sound like it will be pretty much just 9 to 5 with an hour lunch. Minimal overtime unless there is a big project. I'm pretty stoked.
And to further cement my awesomeness, I would like to state for the record I beat out 75 other applicants for this.

Ron Swanson reacting to the cameras will always be my favorite part of Parks and Rec. I LOVE that show, have seen it all the way through probably a dozen times and I still laugh like a bastard every time. It started slow for me but in season 2 it turned to pure gold once they figured out who to pair up more often. All of Parks and B99 are on Hulu.
How long were you at your last job, wasn't it a really long time? Congrats on the big change and what sounds like better living with it.
When you say you beat out 75 others, was this in mortal combat or a battle of intellect?
And just because I can....
Re: Random Thoughts
Yea, I was actually at my last job for a little over three years. I am not sure I mentioned it but I was actually laid off a few weeks back. I made it through three rounds of lay-offs and then four managers and myself got the axe. I suppose that makes me feel kind of good I was axed along with four other managers while I am only an associate. My company needed to bleed me dry as much as they can before they dumped me. Those bastards.
But, them's the breaks. A few of my buddies also left to other companies or transferred departments recently, too, because of all the layoffs in my practice.
The writing was on the wall. I could tell it was time for me to go so I had also started applying to positions in March. So there's good and bad with my current job I'm starting. I'm taking like a 32% pay cut in salary. But, again, the plus side is I will be working 9 to 5. Like this is mostly a true 9 to 5. At 5pm, I will not be "wrapping up" my work. At 5pm my PC is already shut down and I'm waiting at the elevator by 5:01pm. *Mostly*
At my old job, I was used and abused as the partners saw fit. Sometimes I had to work late (10pm or later) and there was no overtime. There's no overtime at my new jams but the overtime will be pretty nominal.
So it's a trade-off. If I leave work at 5pm, I can be home in my house watching The Simpsons by 6:15pm. That's insane. I never got home at 6:15pm before in my life.
I had a TB test, blood test, urine test, and will be starting orientation on Monday. Going to be sitting around with other doctors and stuff stroking each other's dicks talking about how awesome they are. I'll be sitting in the back eating pastries and drinking coffee trying to hide my presence.

I missed the lay off mention before, sorry to hear but it sounds like it ended up being a very good thing after all.

One of my buddies was a die-hard Knicks fan since he was a kid. I always asked him why and he said "They are New York. Gotta support the home team!" A few years back I asked him "How are your Knicks doing this year?" His response was "Screw it. I gave up on them!".
I got this email earlier today: "Congratulations! Your onboarding is complete and you are cleared to begin employment."
I don't have tuberculosis and I am immune to measles, mumps, rubella, chickenpox, and hepatitis B.

I've never understood the home team support rule, especially since teams leave the state all the time. I find being a fan of local sports is just the lazy man's approach to being a sports fan simply because they don't even have to search out a game, it just airs on the local tv or at every local bar and it seems more like they're actually a fan of whatever happens to be around and nearly every die hard local team fan is always just another fare weather fan, as your buddy demonstrated.
Daaaamn, all those immunities, your parents did not say no to vaccines.
Re: Random Thoughts
Yea, but even when the Knicks do well now he doesn't care. In fact, I don't think he even watches basketball anymore.
