Pet Sematary ($114 Million Worldwide Box Office)
When Dr. Louis Creed (Clarke) takes a new job and moves his family to the idyllic and rural town of Ludlow, Maine, this new beginning seems too good to be true. Yet despite Ludlow’s tranquility, there’s an undercurrent of danger that exists here. Those trucks on the road outside the Creed’s beautiful old home travel by just a little too quickly, for one thing…as is evidenced by the makeshift pet cemetery out back in the nearby woods. Then there are the warnings to Louis both real and from the depths of his nightmares that he should not venture beyond the borders of this little graveyard. A blood-chilling truth is hidden there—one more terrifying than death itself, and hideously more powerful. An ominous fate befalls anyone who dares tamper with this forbidden place, as Louis is about to discover for himself…
Directed by Starry Eyes helmers Kevin Kölsch and Dennis Widmyer, Pet Sematary stars Jason Clarke as Dr. Louis Creed opposite Amy Seimetz as his wife Rachel, Jeté Laurence (Sneaky Pete) as their daughter Ellie, and twins Hugo and Lucas Lavoie as young Gage. John Lithgow takes on the role of Jud Crandall, famously brought to life (so to speak) in the previous adaptation by the late Fred Gwynne. Not yet featured in any of the promotional material (for reasons King fans will understand) is the part of Zelda, Rachel’s sister, as played by Alyssa Brooke Levine. The highly anticipated film arrives in theaters on April 5, 2019.

I vaguely remember watching the old one, part 1. This should be a Holloween movie, April is not the place for it.

Pets and children die every day of the year, why do you always feel like trauma only happens on Halloween?
I've seen the original countless times and it's still very fucked up.....

Well, yeah, but April is right around when blockbuster movies start to come out so I feel like this won't do as well as it could. Would have been a good competition for the Halloween movie.
But more importantly though, this is a horror movie, why are you comparing it to real life?

And also because this is based on a true story from King's hometown.

Well obviously not all of it, just the part about the resurrection cemetery. That was all true.

I thought you were going to tell us some sick story behind it. You have failed me!

Here's the story behind several of his stories including Pet Sematary which was a real place from his hometown.

Some interesting shit. I can't believe he went to the cemetery to write and grabbed some names while he's at it, a little creepy.
