Re: Red Dead Redemption 2 ($725 Million Opening Weekend)
I was obsessed with RDR when it came out, I earned nearly every trophy I played it for so long. One of the greatest sandbox games I've ever played and I look forward to seeing how advanced the world has become in the 8 years since RDR's release.
The first trailer for RDR2 drops this Thursday, so we don't have to wait long for a look.

AMAZING game, you never run out of things to do. If you want to spend hours on a horseback looking for adventures you can, rob a bank or save a prostitute from bad guys, or go on hunting trip collecting pelts for cash to upgrade weapons, you can. RDR is like Westworld, a massive choose your own adventure western.
I probably put nearly 200 hours into that game over about a year of playing and still never got to 100% on my game or ran out of things to do and that was all without ever even venturing into all the extensive online game play they developed for it.
I loved that game and recommended it to every gamer.

I still haven't completely finished GTA V yet. Maybe one day I'll check this out.

Shit, man. I haven't even played the first one yet! I've only messed around and barely even got into the story for the first one. Rockstar is just too good at making games where you can just do whatever you want and not actually play the story in the game. FUCK YOU, ROCKSTAR!
Yea, Red Dead Redemption 2. I'm in.

I still loooooooooove RDR, it just never ends.....
I've been waiting years for this sequel but since I still haven't gotten around to buying my nextgen system the delays don't bother me.

Need to add a second game to my PS4 catalogue. Should this be it? I like open world games that you can play your own way.

Never played the first one but I know you like Western so I'm guessing you're gonna love this one. Horizon Zero Dawn is also an open world game, I'm gonna play it soon hopefully.

Fallout, Assassin's Creed and Red Dead are the biggest open worlds I've ever explored but Red Dead is my preferred sandbox. I began my game riding around on horseback with a knife and a crappy six shooter until I was able to either hunt enough game for pelt and meat or rob and murder enough people on the roads to pay for the weapon and gear upgrades. I love that you can do whatever the hell you want, you're not locked into the missions until you want to play them but I would spend hours riding around on horseback just killing shit and then selling all my earnings for better gear. I'm a straight up Black Hat in my version of Westworld, I play the game like my name is Bill.

I was not aware you could do all of that. At all. Damn, Wylde, why you gotta make me want to play this game now? I have enough entertainment media on my plate and now you do this? Unforgiveable.

You could even catch and break wild horses to sell for profit, and that was in RDR, I can't even imagine how insane RDR2 must be. I might finally after all these years purchase a PS4 just for this one game.
These are from RDR and that game came out in 2010.

Is it just me or does this game seem awesome but like a lot of work at the same time?

The old RDR game was a ton of work too, like hundreds of hours of game play busy. I can't imagine they made the world smaller after all these years.
Re: Red Dead Redemption 2 ($725 Million Opening Weekend)
I'm sure the world is a lot bigger. It's like GTA5 only western.

'Red Dead Redemption 2' Breaks Records With $725 Million Opening Weekend
It's how the west was won.
On Tuesday, Rockstar games announced Red Dead Redemption 2 earned a record-breaking $725 million during its first weekend on sale.
The highly-anticipated open-world video game set records for largest ever pre-orders, largest first-day sales and largest sales for the first three days in market on the PlayStation Network, according to Rockstar, which cited Sony.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is the second-highest grossing entertainment launch of all time behind Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto V, which achieved over $1 billion in retail sell-through in three days.
The game has been hailed by critics as a new level of open-world adventure gaming.
The follow-up (a prequel) to 2010's Red Dead Redemption, centers on outlaw Arthur Morgan, a leading member of the notorious van der Linde gang in the last dying days of America's Wild West.
Featuring a sweeping open world, incredible immersive gameplay and an attention to detail unlike anything else in gaming, Rockstar's return to the Old West is being called a masterpiece of design, craft and storytelling.

Fuck me! Video games are making blockbuster film level of box office. I predict very high numbers for The Last of Us 2 as well.

At $65 a pop it probably doesn't take long to hit those record breaking numbers.
