Starring Chloë Grace Moretz and based on the bestseller: In the new film The 5th Wave, four waves of increasingly deadly attacks have left most of Earth decimated. Against a backdrop of fear and distrust, Cassie is on the run, desperately trying to save her younger brother. As she prepares for the inevitable and lethal 5th wave, Cassie teams up with a young man who may become her final hope – if she can only trust him.

Are there any franchises where the safety of the world after an apocalyptic event isn't up to a group of 17 year olds? Cause I'm pretty hard pressed to think of very many...

No...u can bet ur ass a bunch of 17 yo didnt fuck the earth up to begin with so this is plan B

Read the first two books. It's not a bad concept but doesnt lend itself well to a big movie. Sort of Katniss vs the Martians. Definite grab for the Twilight/HG demo. Im kinda interested to see how they try and make thoughtful SF into a popcorn movie.

Through emotionally fraught scenes and longing looks between the two teen leads filmed at close-up. Also, lots of explosions and if they post-convert to 3D the Asian markets will make this a huge hit.
