Lili Simmons is once again topless. I think the poor girls been typecast
The only thing I've ever seen her on where she didn't go topless was Hawaii Five-O and that's just cause they wouldn't let her.

Love both those films. My favourite Aussie directer, alongside Hillcoat.

Watching Chopper back in high school in the early 2000's was my introduction to Dominik. Too bad he's only made 3 movies in 15 years, albeit very good movies I just wish he worked more.

Dominick was planning to do film adaptations of Joyce Carol Oates's novel Blonde.
Also a Comac McCarthy novel, can't recall the title.

Wiki says both are still in development. The McCarthy novel apparently had James Franco attached, but I think it's dead in the water.

Just like Hillcoat, Dominik's films are nothing alike.
Plus both draw top talent for roles.
Triple 9 is loaded with heavy hitters, curious to see John tackle an urban crime thriller.

Triple 9 has a cast that feels way too good to be true, it's like an Oceans 11-13 cast of names.
Hillcoat should make the full length Red Dead Redemption movie with his Triple 9 star Norman Reedus, he looks like the character and Hillcoat made an RDR short a few years back.
I love Chastain but seriously another Marilyn Monroe movie? We've had several in just the last few years. I feel like that would be a total waste of their talents.

Having read the novel Blonde, I think Dominik would be .more true to the
source material. The CBS tv miniseries wasn't good.
With that said, Monroe has been done to death.

I watched Rocknrolla over the weekend along with Rounders. Good movies. Not sure I completely understand Rocknrolla but from what I saw, it was pretty okay.
Planning on watching Point Break and Blood: The Last Vampire (live action) this week before I head to NOLA for the weekend.

What didn't you understand? The term RocknRolla or the movie as a whole? Tom Hardy was so different from all the characters he plays now. I watched that and Bronson within a week of each other and it totally blew my mind in terms of what he was capable of.
Rounders is the only Matt Damon movie I ever felt like I could watch again.

I LOVED RocknRolla. The slap scene cracks me up every time I see it. I was actually hoping for a sequel for it given the way it ended.

Home today, took a sick day.
Prometheus
6/10
For me, this didn't live up all the hype.
Still a decent sci-fi movie though.
Too bad Noemi won't return for the sequel.

I had some trouble understanding the movie as a whole. I couldn't really focus well as I was hungover from the previous night. The TV was set way too high and I was getting a headache just turning my head up to look at it. I know they were all looking for a painting.
I'll give it another go if I ever come around to it.
I will say the cinematography was fantastic. Very clever use of angles and effects.
And also, what exactly is a "rocknrolla"?

So a real rocknrolla wants money, drugs, sex, glamour, and fame and would, of course, have obtained all of that.
I want to be a real rocknrolla.

I re-watched that a month or so back, it was the first time I'd ever seen Kurt play a bad guy. Stayed that way until he started to work with Tarantino.

Several anti-heroes, like Snake Plissken.
Only other I've recall Kurt playing a bad guy, the 70's tv movie The Deadly Tower.
Charles Joseph Whitman, University of Texas Clock tower Sniper.

Snake Plissken is my all-time favorite Kurt role but I thought I'd seen every movie he ever made and yet The Deadly Tower is definitely not one of them. I must track it down, thanks!

Watching: Total Recall
Love 80's action flicks and bad sets. There's a scene early on when Arnie knocks two guys against what is suppose to be a solid concrete wall, and the whole thing movies. haha
I remember watching Romancing The Stone a few weeks back, and as Michael Douglas is swinging over the gap, he lands straight into what's suppose to be the edge of a cliff, but it's just foam painted like rock. You actually see him cushion into it.

Total Recall is shown every single day on Starz, they love that movie! LOL. Virtually every 80's action movie I've ever seen with a boulder sequence always has at least one moment where they bounce or move like a Styrofoam ice chest. I remember The Goonies having lots of moments like that. Or when two guys fight their way through a wall and it's sheet rock on one side with no insulation and sometimes not even another piece of sheet rock and these are in people's homes or as you said concrete walls always be moving. Vintage action!

I think Woody is at his best when he goes dark side. His real personality always cracks me up compared to what you imagine he'd be like but I enjoyed Rampart quite a bit.

Woody was great, but the overall film fell short.
Would've preferred a film about the Rampart corruption Scandal.
There are films loosely based on it, like Training Day and Street Kings.
Plus The Shield on tv.

I enjoyed Woody's performance quite a bit but in the pantheon of rampart films there are so many and none really feel that different. David Ayer has directed a few better versions of it. As you mentioned, The Shield covered it to.

True.
Ayer directed Street Kings and wrote the screenplay for Training Day. Think he also was involved with Harsh Times and End of Watch.
Looks like he's moved on from dirty cops.

Every movie he made was about dirty crazy cops then he made Fury and now with the Suicide Squad he's about crazy soldiers. Basically Ayer only makes movies about corruption within the police or the government.

Watched Toxic Avenger this morning. Troma at its finest. Time to revisit their catalog. Haven't seen them in years.
Downloaded Hearts in Atlantis last night. Loved this film when it was released, caught it on a whim in the cinema. Have been patiently waiting for a Blu release, but still nothing.
Watching it now.
