This has been my most anticipated title for years now but soooo disappointed it's only only the next gens.

I finally got to play this for a bit at my buddies the other day and found it to be fun and totally frustrating, the weapons seemed useless on virtually every creature until you can modify them. I kept getting owned constantly until I was able to upgrade, I was dying way too often for my liking and I almost quit until I found a town that let me scavenge, salvage, and scrap buildings and then start building a new town any way I wanted. WOAH....I love this feature. I then spent the next four hours building my town and modifying my weapons and couldn't really tell you about the people I met cause I didn't, I just wandered and built for my first F4 experience. Maybe I'll get the opportunity to play a little more so I can give a better opinion but so far I enjoyed and cursed it about 60/40.

I've been looking at gameplays of this and it doesn't look like my type of game. Never played a Fallout game before but it kinda looks boring.

It's basically choose your own adventure. F4 is a massive open world game with seemingly endless things to do and hundreds of hours worth of play but it just depends on what you want to do. You could pick up junk, scrap it and use it to upgrade and mod your weapons or build walls around your towns, build generators and power your town. That would probably bore you but you can also just run around starting gun fights or dueling with mutant creatures trying to kill you as well. You don't even have to play the many storyline if you don't want. Just run around the biggest map you've ever played without any limits or rules, you are the Road Warrior. Fallout is the most immersive game series I've ever played and I'm blown away by what they fit into their game. You could spend hundreds of hours in game and still probably never see everything there is, there are way too many caves, tunnels and secret entrances to ever find them all in my experience. I have no idea if you'd enjoy it but I've been playing Fallout games more than any other franchise in my gaming life, no other gaming series comes close to the FO series for me. I could rave about these games endlessly but until you spend hours in the Wasteland, you just won't understand. Twisted Evil

You might be right. How's the story? Is there one?

Oh yeah there's also a good story line but the gist is that you are a Vault Dweller who is released into the Wasteland after something like 200 years below ground and you venture out into the world to make your mark. I haven't played any of the new story yet just some side missions and built some towns. I always spent at least a minimum of 30-40 hours trying to get through the story modes in the previous games but not venturing off and getting sidetracked is virtually impossible. I always tell myself to keep on mission and get to that building I need to start my mission but then I see something else that looks fun closer nearby and I find myself going into a cave, traveling and fighting and scavenging my way through an hour worth of underground tunnels and coming up in an entirely different part of the map with some bad ass new toys and a lot of kills.

It's been nearly a year since we last talked about this game, did you guys ever get very far into it. I haven't played anymore since the last time I posted but I recently heard that a the expansions have been coming out and was wondering what your opinions are on the game after a year.

Never played this one either. I did read about a couple of DLCs being released though.
