WyldeMan wrote:Changing the dynamic between Mr J and Harley changes a lot. His abuse and brainwashing was what turned the very stable Dr Harleen Quinzel into Harley Quinn. If you erase how she suffered at his hands then that changes everything about the way they interact with each other and I want to know how they explained Quinzel to Quinn if they took this away. So what, she was a therapist who just went crazy for no apparent reason and murdered Jason Todd? Shocked

The reviews I've read for the Harley/Joker relationship have been pretty disappointing. I read that at some point there are dream sequences where some of the Squad are dreaming about their fantasy life (I think it's because Enchantress fucks with their heads). Anyhoo, in Harley's dream, she dreams of being married to the Joker and having kids - but it's not as Harley and Joker, it's as Harleen and pre-Joker Joker (no idea on his real name).

They try and paint it that after everything that's happened to her, her fantasy is a normal apple-pie life? That's not even close to Harley Quinn is. What a crock of shit.

Considering that's not the Harley and Joker that Ayer filmed based on this list, I can't imagine Leto isn't the only one unhappy with all the cuts.

They removed all the stuff that we wanted and yet added that scene with Captain Cold and Flash which was something Snyder filmed in the re-shoots. Rolling Eyes

If we don't get an extended cut, I don't know if I'll bother to own this one.

Leto Says Enough ‘Suicide Squad’ Deleted Scenes ‘For a Joker Movie’
jasontodd - The Suicide Squad ($724,133,343) - Page 9 Suicid13
Days after Jared Leto said many of the Joker’s scenes were cut from “Suicide Squad,” he’s giving fans more speculation fodder.

During an interview with BBC Radio 1, Leto told Edith Bowman “there’s probably enough footage” for the Joker to have a movie of his own.

“I think that I brought so much to the table in every scene, it was probably more about filtering all of the insanity, because I wanted to give a lot of options, and I think there’s probably enough footage in this film for a Joker movie,” said Leto.

The Joker appeared in less than 15 minutes of the film, much of his role being to fill out Harley Quinn’s backstory.

Leto also said in the interview he told director David Ayer during production that “Suicide Squad” should be rated R.

“I always wished this film were rated R,” he said. “It felt like, if a film was ever going to be rated R, it should be the one about the villains.”

Leto wasn’t the only one to question “Suicide Squad’s” PG-13 rating. Last week, filmmaker Mike Birbiglia tweeted, “Suicide Squad has machine gun killings and bombings and got a PG-13 rating. @DontThinkMovie gets an R because adults smoke pot. Confusing?”

Judd Apatow backed him saying, “Studios own the ratings board. Violence sells so they make pot and sex the scary thing so they seem caring.”

I KNEW IT! I FUCKING KNEW IT!!!!! I knew Leto wouldn't let me down. I blame the studio, those FUCKING SONS OF BITCHES!!!!!! It's like non of them has ever picked up a comic book in their life. Evil or Very Mad I'm very pissed about this. Is it going to be like this? Are we going to keep wanting to wait for the next movie for them to fix these mistakes?

I do believe that if he's in the Batman solo movie then it's game over. I think that will probably be the best DCEU movie. Right now, WW has me excited.

One good thing I've read about SS though is Ben Affleck. I don't know what he does but people are loving him even more as Batman. I have to go watch this movie before it's spoiled for me. lol!

Ayer Says There Are Multiple Cuts; Confirms Joker/Robin/Batman Fan-Theory
Ahead of Empire's podcast with David Ayer, the mag has released some of the intriguing details of their chat. Obviously if you haven't seen the movie yet, massive SPOILERS follow.

First off, The Suicide Squad director confirms that there are indeed "six or seven" versions (no R-rated one, however) of what he describes as his “anarchic punk rock art movie”. Apparently the version that made it into theaters is known as the "Dossier Cut" because it dispenses with showing us how the members of Task Force X arrived at Belle Reve, and instead has Amanda Waller presenting the backstories and origins through a series of montages.

There's definitely going to be a lot of fans wishing they'd stuck with the more linear cut.

Perhaps more interestingly, Ayer confirms a popular fan theory about how Jared Leto's Joker came by that shiny grill of his, and reveals that his divisive "damaged" tattoo is also connected to it.

"This is sort of my personal thing and maybe less about a larger connection. But Joker killed Robin and Batman basically smashes his teeth out and locks him up in Arkham Asylum. It’s in the asylum where Joker would have done the ‘damaged’ tattoo as a message to Batman saying, 'You’ve damaged me. I was so beautiful before and now you’ve destroyed my face.' That’s where the grill comes from."

Because DC represents a quality that Marvel doesn't attempt. Cool

Marvel is formulaic point and shoot family fare about merchandising first and foremost so they need the kids to love their movies. DC is a darker brand and always has been but for some reason studio interference is really fucking with the quality of the final products. These multiple cuts keep proving this as did the BvS EC.

I know you don't like a lot of Marvel stuff but they know how to please fans and the non fans. They've done the comics justice by bringing them to life exactly as they are. DC is darker and likes taking risks, worked with the Nolan trilogy but it's been a miss lately. I don't blame everything on studio, some of it is script related.

You do realize they changed the majority of Civil War from the comic book cause it's not a very faithful adaptation.

The Winter Soldier who had a minor role in the books, not a main player like in the film. FYI, he also did not kill the Starks in cannon.

And I'm sure Captain America was successfully assassinated via head shot from Crossbones and will not be returning in the next Avengers outing?

They also copped out big time on the ending when they put the survivors in an underwater prison instead of through the portal in the inescapable Negative Zone. It wasn't family friendly enough, I hear it was too negative. Razz

You may want to do a google search on the differences before proclaiming the almighty Disney Marvel as faithful....they're whores, it's about dat cash....

Let me rephrase, they've done the characters justice. These are characters you recognize even in the movies. Sure, somethings are going to change like Winter Soldier but that's normal for the sake of making movies. This is where DC suffers and gets carried away.

And I have read Civil War, sir. While it didn't play out scene for scene, I like the little twist they put on it. Cap is a fan favorite, just because he dies there doesn't mean he has to die in the movie. Besides, he's alive and well in the new comics now, isn't he? The real cop out would've been to kill him and have someone else play him because Evans is Cap. Period.

Disney might be about that cash but Marvel gives us what we want at the same time. You gotta respect that. Put some respek on it! Razz

Disney is a corporation focused on the pimp game, they do nothing but create PopTarts and Prostitots and then milk every property they have until the tits fall off.

Kirsten Dunst trolls Suicide Squad with morbid but hilarious post
jasontodd - The Suicide Squad ($724,133,343) - Page 9 Untitl12

Her review of Suicide Squad consisted of a simple Instagram post.

Dunst is best-known for her stint as Mary Jane Watson in the Spiderman trilogy But the actress has a number of credits to her name aside from that, and she made a brilliant self-reference to one of her movies on Instagram this week.

The cheeky throwback pic of course references Sofia Coppola’s The Virgin Suicides, which Dunst starred in in 1999. She accompanied the post with smiley faces. It's dark, but genius.

Haha. It is. Good movie to. It was the movie that made me like James Woods, and who can forget Josh Hartnett's hair : Laughing

Now that Dunst has posted that, I wonder how long until she's forced to take it down because someone says it's "insensitive" and was "offended" .

The soundtrack, the hair and all of the daughters pulling a Sylvia Plath at the end of the movie because their parents were too strict. LOL.

An Open Letter To Warner Bros CEO Kevin Tsujihara About Layoffs, Zack Snyder, and Donuts

When I left my screening of Suicide Squad last week, I was angry. I was annoyed and let down and frustrated as well, but mostly I was just angry.

Look, I'm a big dork. So of course I thought this trainwreck of a movie did a major disservice to the characters, concept, cast, and crew, but that wasn't why I was mad. Yes, it is unfathomable to me that Warner Bros could mess up a movie starring Will Smith, Margot Robbie, and The Joker so completely. But that just had me flummoxed.

I was angry because I couldn't stop thinking about you, Kevin Tsujihara.

A lot of fans might be angry (and rightfully so) because you keep completely whiffing at properties that they are desperate to love and enjoy, but this is a little more personal for me. See, I am a former Warner Bros employee. I have so much respect for your studio. I love every square inch of that magical backlot, from Stars Hollow to the fitness center I always meant to use. The people I worked with during my time with your company are now close friends. On my last day, I hugged them and I told them I loved them.

I was also there in 2014, when you made the decision to lay off 10 percent of your workforce. It was a terrible year. Let me catch you up: Every morning I woke up with a pit in my stomach, because I assumed that would be the day I lost my job. Every day I saw someone packing up their desk, or carrying a box to their car. I can not describe to you the relief I felt when my department was told we were safe, or the guilt I felt afterwards walking through the halls of my office with that relief.

But out of all that, the thing that really sticks with me is the memo you sent to all of us. Let me refresh you on my favorite part:

"I wanted you to hear directly from me about our plans for the studio. In recent days, we have started to hear rumors here at the company and to read misinformation in the press, so I'd like to set the record straight. I know that the hard work and dedication of every employee around the world is the key to Warner Bros.' success, and I am sorry for the distraction this situation brings to the workplace.

At Warner Bros., we work with the world's most extraordinary storytellers, and our focus has always been to provide the creative environment and financial resources they need to realize their vision. Our commitment to that won't change. In fact, we're investing more than ever in our film and television productions."

This is how you opened a memo about layoffs. "Hey guys, we work hard for the people telling stories here and we want to make sure those visions are realized." The balls on you.

That year we pursued the storytelling vision of Adam Sandler's Blended and Clint Eastwood's Jersey Boys. Failures. We pursued a potentially great summer movie like Edge of Tomorrow and completely botched its release. Same with Man From UNCLE. We dug in our heels and hoped The Hobbit Trilogy would somehow stop being a mediocre case of diminishing returns. Talented, loyal people packed their boxes and went home while your story tellers dropped the ball.

One could argue that this was not your fault. That you inherited former CEO Barry Meyer's agenda and were merely trying to correct the course of an ocean liner heading for an iceberg.

I would not make this argument. And here's why: I wrote this letter last year. I actually started forming it in my head after Man of Steel was a box office failure instead of the modern classic tentpole you were expecting.

I kept holding off on doing anything with it because of one title: Suicide Squad. Zack Snyder's Dawn of Justice was a fiasco, but here comes this plucky little dark adventure about antiheroes. I love David Ayer. I love Harley Quinn. I love Will Smith. Put the letter in a drawer. The ship isn't sinking anymore. Everything is fine. There's no way this movie is bad.

And here we are. I got back from my screening and dusted this sucker off. You, your executive team, and the vision of your 'extraordinary storytellers' that resulted in the loss of around one thousand jobs seem intent on crashing the ship into as much shit as you can find in the ocean by making inane decisions over and over again.

Zack Snyder is not delivering. Is he being punished? Assistants who were doing fantastic work certainly were. People in finance and in marketing and in IT. They had no say in a movie called Batman V Superman only having 8 minutes of Batman fighting Superman in it, that ends because their moms have the same name. Snyder is a producer on every DC movie. He is still directing Justice League. He is being rewarded with more opportunity to get more people laid off. I'm assuming you yourself haven't been financially affected in any real way. You and your studio are the biggest lesson about life one can learn: The top screws up and the bottom suffers. Peter Jackson phones it in and a marketing supervisor has to figure out a plan B for house payments.

Your uneven Hall H presentation at Comic Con this year was a ridiculous mess that ranged from rushed to boring. When Marvel announced their full slate of films with a fun fan event several years ago, you announced yours on a shareholder conference call.

You just don't get it. And it's not just DC movies, it's your whole slate. Jupiter Ascending. Get Hard. Hot Pursuit. Max. Vacation. Pan. Point Break. Fucking PAN, you jerk. People lost their jobs and you decided Pan was a good idea. You think another Jungle Book is a good idea.

What are you even doing? I wish to God you were forced to live out of a car until you made a #1 movie of the year. Maybe Wonder Woman wouldn't be such a mess. Don't try to hide behind the great trailer. People inside are already confirming it's another mess. It is almost impressive how you keep rewarding the same producers and executives for making the same mistakes, over and over.

If I worked at a donut stand, and I kept fucking up donuts, I'd be fired. Even if I made a tiny decent one every now and then, it doesn't matter. I'm gonna get fired.

I love that studio, and you're allowing it to sink. It's not about making movies for 'the fans' and not 'the critics.' It's not even about 'ruining childhoods.' It's about protecting livelihoods.

It's time to wake up and make the fucking donuts, Kevin.

It is almost impressive how you keep rewarding the same producers and executives for making the same mistakes, over and over.

When I read that WW bit my heart sank. I feel for this guy though, it affected him more than any other DC fan out there given his situation. I hope this Kevin dude read it and takes it to heart. WB is fucking up big time.

Kevin Tsujihara is a power hungry dictator who decided he needed to keep all the developmental power in his own hands instead of hiring a person or team for this. Kevin's predecessor Barry Meyer allowed the green light control to be done by chief Alan Horn for several decades and the team of those two worked to great success at WB. But Kevin Tsujihara decided he alone needed all green lighting power and unlike Meyer and Horn, Tsujihara just keeps making terrible decisions without letting anyone help him. I look forward to the day he's fired for destroying WB in such a short amount of time.

I didn't know this. What a dick! Why are dicks always in control of these things? Fire his ass pronto. I don't know what the people who hired him are waiting for. He should step down of his own free will and see the damage he's done.

I remember reading that Meyer was head at WB for over four decades, they're probably hoping Kevin will figure out what he's doing eventually. Though I think it's been about five years now.

Suicide Squad star Jared Leto feels as though he was "tricked" into taking on the role of Joker in Warner Bros.' new comic book film, according to a recent report.

The actor, who's also the lead singer of Thirty Seconds to Mars, shared a few thoughts on his role during a Q&A session at Camp Mars—an event Leto posted about on both Instagram and Twitter. According to a summary provided by a Leto fansite on Tumblr (via Batman-News), Leto is said to have felt "sort of tricked into being a part of something that had been pitched to him very differently."

According to the report, Leto said he thought it would be a more artistic production and was "overwhelmed by all the hate regarding the look and choices." He also said he hasn't yet seen the film after being disappointed to hear what did and didn't make it into the theatrical cut.

Leto also confirmed that his contract for Suicide Squad prohibited him from doing various dangerous activities that he enjoys, like rock climbing. In response to this stipulation by Warner Bros., Leto said "fuck 'em."

Suicide Squad opened earlier this month to negative critical reception. While the theatrical release doesn't feature very much of Leto as the green-haired villain, the actor said he shot enough Joker material for a whole movie.

I love that the guy who got beat up by Frodo Baggins doesn't like criticism.

Of course people hated the look, Joker appeared to be a huge fan of Die Antwoord but nobody else is.....

Saw this today with movie money from Batman/Batman Returns SteelBooks I bought.

I think I've made it clear enough how low my expectations were for Leto/Ayer's "Joker"...the pictures and trailers were not enough to prepare me for how bad it actually was. Just fucking abysmal.

Batman's cameos are fucking great, especially the first gliding in behind Will Smith.

Margot is very inconsistent. Early on she drops a "Mistah J" and it's pretty damn good but then she switches to "Puddin'" for the rest of the movie and she doesn't do it that well. We get one shot of her in the classic animated series costume and it's an iconic image, that was a highlight even with a fucked up Joker.

Berlanti Confirms TV SUICIDE SQUAD Was A Test For The Film
Before David Ayer's Suicide Squad appeared on the silver screen, fans got their first taste of Task Force X on the CW's Arrow. While Arrow's version of the Squad was a far cry from the classic comic lineup, we still got to see the show's take on classic characters such as Bronze Tiger, Deadshot, and Amanda Waller. Now, in a new interview, Arrow producer Greg Berlanti confirmed that the Squad's inclusion on the show was a test for audiences to gauge interest in the team for a feature film.

"They said to us a year and a half before they started developing Suicide Squad, 'Will you guys put [a version of] the Suicide Squad in your show? Because we want to have it as a film at some point." Berlanti told Vulture. "It also happened with Geoff [Johns] when Geoff and Andrew [Kreisberg] and I were creating Flash. They were both really huge fans of Cisco Ramon, [also known as] Vibe, and had written a Vibe comic [in 2013] to try and bring him back. They said, 'Could we please have Vibe on the show?'"

Ironically enough, Deadshot and Waller were later killed off on the show, apparently due to a mandate from Warner Bros. prohibiting the use of those characters on television.

If you watched Suicide Squad and thought to yourself, “Give me more of this,” you’re in luck. Just as they did with Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Warner Bros. will be releasing an extended cut of writer/director David Ayer’s Suicide Squad on home video, giving fans the opportunity to see even more of the villain team’s violent hijinks. Indeed, fans can watch this extended cut—with 13 minutes of new footage—on Digital HD as early as November 15th, while the film hits Blu-ray on December 13th.

The Ultra HD Blu-ray, Blu-ray 3D Combo Pack, and Blu-ray Combo Pack will all include both the theatrical cut and the extended version of Suicide Squad, and the extended version will be available to own on Digital HD.

NO! We need more of Joker in those 13 minutes. Leto has said that he's filmed enough to make his own movie so I hope they paint him differently with those extra minutes. I don't think the Squad needs any more time than they already have. I say all this without seeing the movie though. They have to make Joker a big deal because if you fail there then DC needs a reboot. Sorry Ben.

This is becoming a DC thing now. Why go to the movies if they're going to keep adding stuff on the BD? Good thing I waited for this one.

I heard that in the redux, Elijah Wood shows up as The Scarecrow and kicks the shit out of Leto's Joker.

Fucking DC, man! I watched the Extended and I still didn't see enough Joker in it. I can't imagine what the theatrical was like. Like I said before, Joker was the reason I was excited for this movie and I didn't see much of the real Joker. He was in this movie for Harley and that really sucks. They made him chase after her when it should be the other way around. Evil or Very Mad

There were moments I loved in this movie like the Ace Chemicals scene with Harley and Joker, I can see that Joker transitioning to the solo Batman movie with Affleck beautifully. I don't think ALL hope is lost yet, Affleck can still turn this around. Even though they said "Extended" I still didn't see some of the Joker scenes in the trailer like when he threw a grenade with half his face looking burnt, where is that scene at? I'm guessing that's after the helo gets shot down.

Enchantress was the villain of the movie, I hated this. She's so powerful that I don't understand how she lost. What the heck was she even trying to do in the end with the portal? She had this circle thing of destruction going on with her magic for a long time in the movie that I didn't understand what she was trying to accomplish. The Squad took her out way to easily, someone should've died.

Margot was perfect as Harley. Leto needs a better script and a little change to some of his personality, show me the dark and twisted side that I know is in there.

Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flag was great in this, he's a good actor after seeing him in House of Cards. I see now why Tom Hardy turned down the role though.

Will did a great job as Deadshot.

Didn't like Boomerang, tell me something useful he did in this movie?  Evil or Very Mad

Diablo was a cool character and his story was interesting to me and so was Katana's.

Killer Croc.......... Neutral I'm sorry, KC. Evil or Very Mad They should have CGI'd this character and it wouldn't have been enough. WOW! They got this character all wrong.

Scott Eastwood's character was useless, I don't know why he agreed to be in the movie. The way he went out was so stupid too.

Anyway, wasn't a bad movie but not what it should've been. They should have just used Assault on Arkham as the story, would have been an awesome movie. Good thing about this movie was the soundtrack, the story was a mess. Batman was in it for a few moments and it was pretty much the highlight of the movie.

Lets brace ourselves for Wonder Woman. Keep up the good work DC! Razz

I'm dreading the rest of this.

If not for Harley Quinn, I'd have had no reason to watch the movie. Margot owns every scene but beyond her, this is a shit show.
