The first look at the new “Power Rangers” cast in full alien-combating attire has finally arrived.

The photo, courtesy of Entertainment Weekly, debuts the new Mighty Morphin Power Rangers gang — singer-songwriter Becky G as Trini, “Me and Earl and the Dying Girl” actor RJ Cyler as Billy, Naomi Scott as Kimberly, Ludi Lin as Zack and Dacre Montgomery as Jason — in modernized armor.

“The show was about kids coming of age, about metamorphosis,” “Power Rangers” director Dean Israelite told EW. “These suits needed to feel like they were catalyzed by these kids and their energy, their spirit.”

Like the original 90s TV series and subsequent spinoffs, the “Power Rangers” revival — set for a 2017 release — will follow a band of misfit teenagers who harness their transformative superhero abilities to fight evil alien forces like Elizabeth Banks’ Rita Repulsa.

Earlier this year, Israelite commented on the diversity of the modern-day “Power Rangers” crew, stating that he wanted to maintain the diversity of the original TV series while avoiding race-driven color assignments.

“From the very beginning, diversity was a very important part of the whole process,” he said. “We switched all of the races around, but we made sure that the essence of each of those characters are who they were in the original show, and this really will be an origin story of those characters.”

I like the suits. Pink and black look pretty nice.

Just checked IMDb and it appears they are going to be the characters from the first US television show. Can someone explain why they got a Mexican girl to play the Vietnamese, Trini Kwan? Why the hell would they cast a Mexican girl to play a character with an Asian name? Why not just change the character? Maybe she was adopted.

Hope the Green Ranger makes an appearance. Dragonzord with the daggerflute!

Power Rangers were cool to me as a kid but not now. I think this looks stupid and more importantly, I can't believe Elizabeth Banks signed up on this. Why?

We'll see how the trailer turns out but I just Power Rangers aren't cool anymore. I never hear kids talking about them. They're not as popular as they used to be.

She's also got the Pitch Perfect and Lego franchises, basically if it's a franchise role, she's in.

This looks really good, Power Rangers have never looked this cool if you ask me. I had such low expectations even with Cranston in it. Heck, I grew out of Power Rangers so I didn't think I'd watch another Power Rangers movie ever again but this really surprised me. I'm definitely going to watch this. They gave the PR super powers and that was a right call. I like how they wear their suits too compared to how they used to do it.

This movie is really surprising me. This was an awesome trailer. I had zero hope that this was going to be somewhat of a decent movie. They've done a really great job so far.

So I watched this and..............look, it's Power Rangers, what do you expect? lol It wasn't a terrible movie. Billy was a cool character and I also liked Trini. Cranston and Banks were fun to watch and were great, Banks looked like she had fun in this role. Overall, it was ok. A lot of teenage stuff in this movie that really brought it down for me, if this was a little mature and had grown up characters it would have been really awesome.
