Fast 8 synopsis: Charlize Theron is another government agent trying to take down the crew. Throughout the movie, Charlize character seems to know their every move and is always hot on their trail. Hobbs and Elena help the crew because Fast and Furious, bro! Charlize finds out about Hobbs and Elena assisting them and they get put on the government's most wanted list also. Much like Paul Walker loved imports and Dom was into musclecars, Hobbs drives stolen military vehicles. (Imagine: Hobbs drifting APCs.)
Turns out Charlize is Gisele's sister and she blames the whole crew for Gisele's death. Owen and Deckard Shaw actually work for Charlize. Since they couldn't get the job done, she's gonna do it herself.
This time it's personal.
(During this whole movie, no one gives a shit about Scott Eastwood.)
I would watch the hell out of that movie. Too bad it won't be nearly that good in reality.
BTW, I know I'm the only one here but I actually do like Scott Eastwood.

Why would you worry about that, it sounds too coherent for this franchise.
The plot will be terrible cause it's fate, see it's even in the title = F8.

Sweet. I love me some Charlize Theron. Diggin' it. Diggin' it.
I definitely look forward to seeing what new stunts they will pull off in this one. (Nothing beats the Dom's Superman save with Letty.)

They've gone the "let's try and make a hot 40 year old look like a hot 27 year old". I'd expect nothing less from this franchise.
I'll still watch it though. How can I not.

When Rock gets time they want him to star in a Hobbs spin-off now.

EXCLUSIVE FIRST LOOK: #HOBBS #F8 When you strip a man of all he has. All that's important to him. You force him to return to his roots.. and sometimes that's a very dangerous and twisted place. If I was going to return for another FAST & FURIOUS I wanted to come in and disrupt the franchise in a cool way that got fans fired up and their blood pumping to see a new version of Hobbs and his "Daddy's gotta go to work" mentality and set the table in a cool way for where the character goes in the future. Maybe it's a spinoff movie. Maybe it's more #FF movies. Or hell maybe Hobbs just gets on his motorcycle and rides off into the sunset never to be seen again. Either way, I've had a solid first week of shooting, good to be back with the ohana, good to work again w/ my bud and director F. Gary Gray and our home studio of UNIVERSAL, as always have been the best partners to me and my #SevenBucksProds team. Most importantly... you guys around the world will really dig this new version of the role, 'cause as we always say, disrupters dent the universe. #Hobbs #TwistedRoots #1Disrupter #1Savage #F8

Has the Rock ever looked more intimidating? Damn!
So, this is going to focus on Hobbs' backstory? Makes sense, the team will try to help him out I guess and maybe know a little about Russel's character too.

Seems like The Rock isn't too happy ...

This is my final week of shooting #FastAndFurious8. There's no other franchise that gets my blood boiling more than this one. An incredible hard working crew. UNIVERSAL has been great partners as well. My female co-stars are always amazing and I love 'em. My male co-stars however are a different story. Some conduct themselves as stand up men and true professionals, while others don't. The ones that don't are too chicken shit to do anything about it anyway. Candy asses. When you watch this movie next April and it seems like I'm not acting in some of these scenes and my blood is legit boiling - you're right.
Bottom line is it'll play great for the movie and fits this Hobbs character that's embedded in my DNA extremely well. The producer in me is happy about this part

Yeah, Eastwood is the one everybody is pointing too because he's the only new male cast member and Rock has never bitched about the others before. I think Rocky was probably just on a heavy HGH day and got a little over excited in a push up contest.

Fast & Furious' Feud Rock vs. Vin Diesel
The Rock's rant about unprofessional male co-stars was targeted at Vin Diesel, TMZ has learned, and the 2 had a secret meeting on the "Fast 8"Â set Tuesday to hash things out.
Production sources tell TMZ ... when the Rock went nuts on social media Monday night, claiming certain male co-stars were not stand up guys and too "chicken s***" to confront him ... he was referring to Vin.
We're told The Rock has butted heads with Vin during the production, in part because V.D. is a producer and has made decisions that didn't sit well with the former wrestling champ.
Our sources say The Rock and Vin had a meeting on the Atlanta set mid-day Tuesday ... partly because tensions were running so high it was almost impossible to shoot scenes. We do not know if they resolved their issues.
As we reported, almost the entire cast is angry at Rock for causing a stir just a week and a half before filming ends.

It was inevitable when you've got that much testosterone around and you never kick the shit out of each other, words at the very least were inevitable but the whole cast is pissed now that he pulled this a week before filming wrapped.

Testosterone and you got the heat on top of that depending on where they're shooting, the heat can get to you. It's 93 degrees in Ohio right now so I can't imagine what it's like in Cali.

LOL Russ, you already pointed it out in the Random Thoughts thread but I just saw it now and your post is fucked up. i don't know why I find it so funny.
It's a good thing they didn't get into a physical altercation. We all know Vin Diesel would absolutely murder The Rock if they were to throw down.

I feel like this is sarcasm but after last week when Trump re-invented the word, I need clarification, this is sarcasm correct?

That was my first read - maybe Joey took Knockaround Guys a little too literal - but before he made movies, Vin was a bouncer in NY. That at least tells me he's genuinely been punched in the face at least once, an probably thrown a punch in anger towards someones face.
I'm convinced Rock would mop the floor with him, but either way, I'd still watch the fuck out of that fight.

Vin always looked like someone who was gym fit to me, muscular and full of steroids but would get the shit kicked out of him in any real fight.
Pretty sure Rock could bench press Vin.

Rock would take Vin to the Smacketh Down Hotel, down at the end of Candy Ass Drive and Jabroni Lane!
But seriously, I feel like both of these guys would settle the beef through an arm wrasslin match. One of them is goin....Over the Top!

Believe me, I am familiar with what is required to take one over the top and it's not just an amazing American name like Lincoln Hawk but it's thumb control and a dedication to extreme fitness even while driving bro. I'm sure someone could hook those bald fucks up with a couple FUBAR hats.

Thank you UNIVERSAL for being tremendous partners as always, thank you to all my fellow co-stars for the daily effort and grind. Scott Eastwood you handsome sumbitch! Natalie Emmanuel I have a cold Budweiser ready for you and Tyrese Gibson you still have the biggest smile and forehead I've ever seen.

Re: The Fate of the Furious ($1,212,583,865)
The Rock and Vin Diesel's Fast 8 Feud Rumored as WWE Publicity Stunt
Could Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Vin Diesel be headed to a WWE ring? That's what Life & Style reports, citing an anonymous insider. While their on-set rivalry had "some truth" to it, it looks like they could be building to a WWE Wrestlemania 33 match, as the insider said, "they are playing a huge prank, and it's all for publicity." Johnson, who built his career as a WWE Superstar called The Rock, came up with the idea to help promote Fast 8.
The timing is perfect, and the evidence was there all along. Wrestlemania 33 will take place on April 2, 2017, just 12 days before Fast 8's release on April 14. The Rock has a special Legacy contract with the WWE, essentially allowing him to return to action whenever he likes - and the last three years in a row, that's meant Wrestlemania. Aside from the timing, the proof came in the very first post that Johnson made about the alleged feud. As noted at the time, it seemed very out of character for the reserved and respectful Johnson to play things out so publicly. Not for The Rock, though, who frequently called his opponents "candy asses" in the ring during promos - a term The Rock used twice in his initial instagram and facebook post.
This all being a "work," as wrestling fans call the storylines that play out in the ring, makes more sense than Johnson suddenly and drastically changing his personality. His behavior outside of the final week of Fast 8 filming hadn't changed, either, as he was seen singing with Lin-Manuel Miranda at an event for Disney's Moana, and since that initial post, he's gone back to promoting his other work (Baywatch, Ballers, and some things that don't start with the letter B), and posting pictures of food, workouts, and family.
We probably won't know for sure if this is all coming to a head at Wrestlemania for awhile - WWE only just had their second biggest weekend show of the year, SummerSlam, last weekend, and they have several pay per view specials between now and April to prepare for (and promote) first.

That was a great trailer. Plot wise though I don't think it's going to be good.
Dom vs Hobbs again, really makes you wonder if the feud was for this very reason.

Why is everything in bold text?
Anyway ... it'll be Dom making a deal on his own, to make a plan, to get Han's killer out of gaol, so he can kill him, so by story's end, Hobb's will be in on the whole thing, because it's all a con - he'll get to kill Statham's character, but the Gov't will be OK with it because he helped them catch Charlize's character ... and at the end Dom will make everything OK with the furious crew by mumbling something to the effect of either ... "I'd never turn my back on family"/"It's always about family"/"Family always comes first"
