Kingsman: The Secret Service ($403,802,136)
Based upon the acclaimed comic book and directed by Matthew Vaughn (Kick Ass, X-Men First Class), Kingsman: The Secret Service tells the story of a super-secret spy organization that recruits an unrefined but promising street kid into the agency’s ultra-competitive training program just as a global threat emerges from a twisted tech genius.

20th Century Fox’s Kingsman: The Secret Service accomplished its mission of providing great action entertainment to those guys whose girlfriends and wives left them for the evening to go see Fifty Shades, however, the film also pulled in a decent portion of females. The film came in well above its $20M range three-day estimates with $35.6M at 3,204 with a per screen of $11,111 in second. It is projected to hit $41M through Monday. As Deadline mentioned yesterday, this is the biggest opening for Oscar-winning actor Colin Firth, and it is director Matthew Vaughn’s second biggest B.O. outing after X-Men: First Class ($55.1M). Exit polls indicated that audiences took in Kingsman because of its action genre. Its legs look great. While Kingsman received a B+ Cinemascore (like Taken 3 last month which has a total cume of $86.8M), it earned an A with the under 25ers, and A- with 25-34. Further bolstering Kingsman‘s word of mouth is a Post Track rating of four-and-a-half stars.

Just watched Kingsman and enjoyed every second of it. What a wild ride like only Vaughn can deliver. Taron Edgerton is going to be a huge star over the next few years, that kid is loaded with talent and swagger. I believe this might be the first full length Firth movie I have ever finished, he was a total bad ass instead of his usual self. This made the kind of money that Kick-Ass could only dream of so it looks like the next big spy franchise is here and it's way better than Bourne and Bond at least for my viewing preference.
That Swedish Princess took the fucking cake for me, now that's how you celebrate saving the world! Cheers!

I just watched it last night and also really dug it.
Vaughn should've directed Suicide Squad, that would' eh been badass

For a moment I thought they lost me, when they were ordered to kill their dogs they raised since pups I was like ah fuck that I'm out, totally ruined the movie for me but then of course we find out that's not the case.
Vaughn doesn't do grit, just great humor and OTT violence. That is not the tone for Squad at all, get over it dude, Ayer slayer it and you just can't accept it.
I think this may have been the very first film I have ever seen Mark Strong not turn out to be a bad guy, I kept waiting for the turn but then it was revealed to be Arthur. Nice change of pace, I didn't hate him for once.
I hope Roxy joins Eggsy for a more active role in the sequel, she was fine.
Sam Jackson was killing me with that Tyson impression, I couldn't stop laughing.

I liked it too. Great movie with lots of action. Sucks that Firth's character died but the scene was just too good. "This ain't that kind of movie." Never seen anything like that before. He's reaction was hilarious after the fact too.
