The Merc With a Mouth takes a few swipes at X-Men Origins: Wolverine in the Deadpool movie, but apparently that wasn't enough for Ryan Reynolds, who "crashed" an Eddie The Eagle interview junket just to give his pal Hugh Jackman a bit more stick about it - not that Origins' horrendous take on Wade Wilson was the only thing Reynolds brought up. Check out the video interview below if you fancy a few chuckles of a Tuesday morning.

Rusty Cunt wrote:Haven't seen Avatar, but I don't mind the idea of Lang as Cable. I'd have considered someone a bit taller, but Wolverine is suppose to be a short-arse, yet you couldn't find a better Logan than Hugh Jackman (you could find better scripts for the movies though).

The Wolverine was shot with both an R and PG-13 version, with the R being the “Unleashed Extended Edition” on BD. After Deadpool's smashing success which also originally had a Wolverine cameo in the script, the studio could do the same thing with the next Wolverine film.

Deadpool hasn’t calmed down, and Ryan Renolds continues to work it. On top of collecting an estimated $24.4M tonight, +50% over Friday, the star’s satirical Deadpool rant against Saturday Night Live exec producer Lorne Michaels was all the rage today, clocking over 2.5M YouTube views. Weekend two for the 20th Century Fox film is now looking like $55M with a 10-day total of $235.4M. ComScore’s PostTrak shows an updated demo breakdown with men comprising most of the audience at 64% and females at 36%. Women love Deadpool almost as much as guys, with an 86% positive score to 90%.

Early this morning, Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds officially announced when fans can expect to pick up his critically acclaimed adventure on Blu-ray and DVD.

It had been rumored over the past few weeks that the film would arrive on home video in mid-May, but now it's been confirmed that the Tim Miller-directed film will arrive in stores on May 10 and will be available on 4K Ultra-HD Blu-ray, Blu-ray, and DVD. The full list of sure-to-be awesome special features weren't revealed, but they should be made available relatively soon. The film is currently available to pre-order from Amazon and a special steelbook will be available from Best Buy.

I'm going to have to wait for this to come out. There is a copy out right now but for me it's unacceptable, can't stand the subs.

The director Tim Miller won't be back for the sequel.

According to THR, he and Ryan Reynolds parted ways over creative
differences.

In Ryan we trust! The first movie was as good as it was because of him. If Ryan thinks it shouldn't go in a certain direction then he's most likely right. I'm sure there are no hard feelings though. They seemed to get along in the interviews I've seen.

They got one of the John Wick co-directors to replace Miller.

Deadpool ($771,191,235) - Page 4 Deadpo11
Fans of the Marvel franchise, and the X-Men franchise over at 20th Century Fox specifically, were probably already prepping themselves for a few major surprises this weekend with the release of Logan. James Mangold‘s adult take on the mythology of Wolverine, extrapolated, in part, from the “Old Man Logan” storyline, has received some of the best reviews of any superhero movies in the past and there has been quite a lot of hush-hush gossip about what unfolds in that narrative. Well, 20th Century Fox decided to double-down on the shock by adding what amounts to a teaser trailer for Deadpool 2 onto certain prints of Logan, it turns out.

If we’re being honest, the trailer is more of a one-off, a sketch that one might expect an episode of Saturday Night Live to open with if Deadpool were hosting. Hearing the sounds of an old man being mugged, Ryan Reynolds‘ hero jumps into a phone booth to change into his Deadpool costume with the Superman theme going off in the background. As it turns out, it takes longer than one might expect, considering the swiftness of most superheroes to suit-up for battle, and things don’t end great for the old man. There’s also a bit of a cameo that you probably will not miss.

First time that Stan Lee did a cameo, as himself.

Am I right?

Love the blatant shade thrown at Superman.

Josh Brolin to Play Cable in ‘Deadpool 2′ and Beyond
Deadpool ($771,191,235) - Page 4 Gettyi11
Since the beginning of the year, there’s been a lot of speculation on who could play Cable in Deadpool 2.  For those who are unfamiliar with the character, he’s got a convoluted backstory that involves time travel, but for the purposes of Deadpool, he’s a solid foil.  While Deadpool is fun and silly, Cable is a gruff, no-nonsense foil, and that makes for a fun pairing in the comics.

While names likes David Harbour (Stranger Things), Michael Shannon, and even Brad Pitt were rumored to play the role, THR reports that the part has gone to Josh Brolin. Additionally, sources say that Brolin has got a four-picture deal for the part including Deadpool 2. This means that Brolin is locked down for the likely X-Force movie as well as a Cable solo film if people like the character.

It’s a good move for both the actor and the studio. For Brolin, he gets in deeper with a long-term franchise. He’s already playing Thanos, but given how Marvel likes to quickly dispose of their villains, I wouldn’t expect that character to survive past Avengers 4. With Cable, he’s got a fun character who has room to grow. Additionally, Brolin is a solid actor and it’s easy to see him take on the hard-bitten Cable. He’s also got outstanding comic timing, so he should play off Ryan Reynolds fairly well.

No release date has been announced yet for Deadpool 2, but production is expected to begin in June in Vancouver. Zazie Beetz (Atlanta) has already signed on to co-star as Domino. David Leitch (John Wick) will direct from a script by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick.

Brolin will be seen later this year in Joseph Kosinksi’s Granite Mountain as well as George Clooney’s Suburbicon. He’s also attached to star opposite Benicio del Toro in the Sicario sequel Soldado. He’ll be seen next year beating up superheroes in Avengers: Infinity War.
