Underworld: Blood Wars (January 6, 2017)
Tobias Menzies has been set for a major role in Underworld V for Sony Screen Gems and Lakeshore. That film is directed by Anna Foerster, who helmed Menzies in the season finale of Outlander that created a ton of buzz as Menzies’ character tortured and repeatedly sexually assaulted the show’s main character, played by Sam Heughan. In the fifth installment of Underworld, Menzies will play Marius, a mysterious new Lycan leader. Kate Beckinsale stars in the film series.

Most savagely...apparently it was a big part of the books and based on what I saw on the show, they did not hold back. NIGHTMARE FUEL.

As the article mentioned though ever since that episode aired, I've been seeing Menzies name coming up a lot for high profile villain roles even though he's been playing a pretty good one across tv for more than a decade now.

Just saw it, Capt. Rapey broke him to the core.
Very disturbing, heartbreaking and well played by both actors.
Ginger better kill his ass next season.

I'm just glad Beckinsale is returning. That whole idea about using her daughter was not that appealing to me. I think we need to see more with Selena.

I actually really enjoyed the introduction of Eve in Awakening. India Eisley has grown up a lot in the four years since they filmed it and was a total bad ass in the movie Kite. I've seen all I really need to of Selene, what more can be learned about her and Michael at this point?

Nothing but since it all started with her I'd like her story to be concluded first. She and her daughter were on their way to find Michael so let it end like that, when the whole family is reunited. Also, she hasn't spent as much time with her daughter since she only just met her.
I've only seen the actress in Awakening. I didn't hate her in the movie though, we need to learn more about her too. I just think we need to save that for later, she hasn't even met her dad yet.

Uhhh fucking Michael Corvin, I never liked that guy but that's probably because I think Speedman has a face like a rat not a wolf. That aside, I think 4 movies about Selene and Michael is more than enough for me. I've always wanted more of the backstory on the very beginning, the story they briefly touched on in the opening of Rise of the Lycans. The first Lycan and Vampire, that story would make a great first season on HBO, Game of Thrones with werewolves and vampires.

Bradley James Lands ‘Underworld: Next Generation’ Villain Role
Bradley James will co-star as the male villain opposite Kate Beckinsale and Theo James in Underworld: Next Generation for Screen Gems and Lakeshore. James recently wrapped the first season of the A&E series Damien, which premieres next year, and becomes the latest to spring from the small screen to features. The film shoots in Prague next month.

Earlier this year I had no idea who Bradley James was but then he debuted on iZombie and almost immediately after landed the leading role of Damien now he's jumping into Underworld. James is really making his way around the supernatural circuit.

Always liked Beckinsale, but gotta be honest.
Only reasons she keeps returning this franchise are clear.
1. Her career pretty much stalled, once she married Wiseman and relocated to Hollywood.
2. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Her ex Michael Sheen has fared much better IMHO.

Not gonna disagree on any of those points, though without Underworld I don't know if she'd still be around.
I was hoping this franchise would have been handed off to her daughter but unfortunately it's looking like more of the same, just like with the Resident Evil franchise.

Maybe she's taking it easy on purpose, family and all that stuff. I love Beckinsale and I think she's a great actress who deserves to be given roles. She's great in action and drama movies. Anyway, I think I might be the only one here who's looking forward to seeing her return on this.

I like the Underworld Franchise, despite Awakening not being that great IMHO.
Prior to that, she usually played in period films and her only big budget fare was Pearl
Harbor. So playing Seline was a reinvention, that I thought would've served her better
once moving to Hollywoood.
Why hasn't Kate been cast as a Bond Girl or joined Marvel or DC cinemaverse?
Really thought one of them would've snatched her up.

Beckinsale would wear the hell out of a Catwoman suit and being nearly the same age as Batfleck, that certainly would work.

Doubt that DC cinemaverse will bring back Catwoman anytime soon.
But I agree, Kate would be a great choice for the role if they did.

Considering we're getting a very established Batman with a long history, I'd be insanely disappointed if Catwoman was the only character being left out.

PRAGUE, Oct. 19, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Principal photography is underway on the latest installment of Screen Gems/Lakeshore Entertainment's blockbuster UNDERWORLD series, which has grossed nearly $500 million worldwide. The ten-week shoot will take place entirely in the Czech capital and areas surrounding.
Theo James (The Divergent Series) returns as Selene's ally David, reprising the role he played in Underworld: Awakening. British actors Tobias Menzies ("Outlander", "Rome") and Lara Pulver ("Sherlock") take on the respective roles of a formidable new Lycan leader and a fiercely ambitious Vampire, and Charles Dance ("Game of Thrones") again plays Vampire elder Thomas. Rounding out the film's stellar international cast are: James Faulkner ("Game of Thrones"), Peter Andersson (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo), newcomer Clementine Nicholson, Bradley James (A&E's upcoming "Damien") and Daisy Head (the upcoming Fallen).
Anna Foerster is the director of UNDERWORLD 5. Foerster, who previously directed episodes of the television series Criminal Mindsand Outlander, is widely known for her work as cinematographer on epic blockbusters such as Independence Day, The Day After Tomorrow and White House Down.
The screenplay for UNDERWORLD 5 was penned by Cory Goodman (The Last Witch Hunter, Priest) and based on characters originally created by Kevin Grevioux, Len Wiseman and Danny McBride. Lakeshore Entertainment's Tom Rosenberg (The Lincoln Lawyer, Million Dollar Baby), Gary Lucchesi (Million Dollar Baby, Underworld), and Richard S. Wright (The Lincoln Lawyer, Underworld) are producing as are David Kern (Underworld: Awakening), along with Len Wiseman (Underworld, Total Recall).
Foerster's accomplished behind-the-scenes team comprises cinematographer Karl W. Lindenlaub (The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian, Independence Day), production designer Ondrej Nekvasil (Snowpiercer), costume designer Bojana Nikitovic (A Good Day to Die Hard), and editor Peter Amundson (Pacific Rim, Underworld: Rise of the Lycans).

I mean as far as him being the director and her the face of the franchise. I don't know too many couples who call it quits and then decide to work together for several more years worth of movies. She rarely makes a movie he doesn't direct.

Wiseman stayed on as a Producer, but hasn't directed a film since Underworld: Evolution. Pretty sure the only Wiseman film Kate has done outside the franchise was
the Total Recall remake.

Outside of this franchise, Total Recall is the only film I've even seen her in, in the past decade. I thought she and Len were like Milla and Paul W.S.

Russell Mulcahy directed RE: Extinction.

Kate Beckinsale's fifth adventure as the Vampire Death Dealer Selene will be titled Underworld: Blood Wars, as announced by co-producers Screen Gems & Lakeshore Entertainment earlier today.
Anna Foerster directed the feature, which wrapped principal photography earlier this year, with a script from Cory Goodman. Joining Beckinsale are Theo James, who reprises his role from the previous installment, Tobias Menzies, Lara Pulver, Charles Dance, Bradley James, James Faulkner, Peter Andersson, Clementine Nicholson, and Daisy Head.
The film will arrive in theaters just in time for Halloween on October 14, a week ahead of the Tom Cruise-starrer Jack Reacher: Never Go Back. There are also a few early rumors circulating that suggest a sixth film with Beckinsale is also being planned.

You'd think if this movie is all about Selene protecting her bloodline, her daughter would have been an important part of the story.

Ever since this film was announced, I've been the only one asking about her daughter cause apparently the franchise did. I was happy that Michael was gone and they spent so much of Awakening establishing the character of Eve but in Bloodlines a film about protecting them, she's no where to be found. What is she off at boarding school?
Tyger wrote:It's been a few years, she would've aged quite a bit for a vampire.
I think India Eisley was around 19 when she made the movie but was playing a much younger character. Now I haven't seen her since 2014's Kite with Sam Jackson but she didn't look much different in that film either.

Maybe they didn't want to reveal too much in the trailer. I just hope she's in the movie.
If this is a decade later or something, they'll have to get another actress. But since she's a Hybrid, they can explain that easily and still keep India too. Works either way.

Eve is not in this. They opted for more sausage because no woman can destract from Selene, they will not allow it. That's what happens when you're married to your franchises's director.
Actually it'd make more sense to use India Easley if this was a decade later cause she was 18 or 19 playing a 12 year old the first time around, now she'd just look her age which as a vampire werewolf hybrid would be possible cause that's made up and so are all of the rules about aging.
