I think that when it comes to John Wick spinoffs, I'd prefer The Ballerina starring the sexy as fuck Ana De Armas. Razz

Hollywood is remaking 90's classic snake movie Anaconda and they've made offers to Nic Cage, Pedro Pascal and Paul Rudd.... Shocked Razz

Pedro and Nic both got the offers because this reboot will be directed by Tom Gormican who already directed them both in The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent.

Anybody growing food this year?

I planted some container crops in the Spring and had 30 cut and come again red and green lettuce plants that provided me awesome greens for two solid months before a hard rain last week gave fungus gnats the perfect breeding grounds and they wiped all of my lettuce roots in about two days. Major fucking bummer. Now I've got to start all over from seed and won't have fresh lettuce again until mid-July.

However, I've also got 8 five gallon buckets of a variety of potatoes such as; Yukon Gold, Kennebac, Red Chieftain and Huckleberry Gold, all which seem to be thriving and around 30 strawberry plants looking quite promising too.

Does anybody here grow anything? I'm not sure what I want to plant next, I'm thinking cucumbers and radish since they're such quick turnaround crops.

Because only barbarians would eat food that doesn't come from a bag or a box and actually tastes like quality food over the store bought stuff that's been frozen for the last two years before it finally hits store shelves?

Well that logic totally tracks with everything that I know about the willful ignorance of city folk. Razz

RARBG was a staple in the torrent community for years, considered the top of the food chain and yet they just abruptly shut down this morning without warning.

First Pirate Bay, then Kat.ph and now RARBG? This truly is the end of an era, not a single public tracker out there even compares.

None of the years worth of existing torrents remain, it's now just a dead link with the following message:

Hello guys,
We would like to inform you that we have decided to shut down our site.
The past 2 years have been very difficult for us - some of the people in our team died due to covid complications,
others still suffer the side effects of it - not being able to work at all.
Some are also fighting the war in Europe - ON BOTH SIDES.
Also, the power price increase in data centers in Europe hit us pretty hard.
Inflation makes our daily expenses impossible to bare.
Therefore we can no longer run this site without massive expenses that we can no longer cover out of pocket.
After an unanimous vote we've decided that we can no longer do it.
We are sorry Sad
Bye

Danny Masterson Found Guilty on Two Counts in Sexual Assault Retrial
METOO - Random Thoughts - Page 19 Danny-12
Actor Danny Masterson has been convicted on two criminal counts in his sexual assault retrial.

On Wednesday, Masterson was found guilty of two counts of forcible rape, per our sister site Variety. The jury was deadlocked on a third rape charge and did not reach a verdict.

Masterson, known for his work on That ’70s Show and The Ranch, was charged with three counts of rape by force or fear in June 2020, regarding separate incidents of sexual assault against three women that allegedly occurred at Masterson’s home between 2001 and 2003. Masterson pleaded not guilty to all three charges in 2021; in the wake of his conviction, the actor now faces a sentence of 30 years to life in prison.

This was the second time Masterson was tried for sexual assault: A previous attempt to prosecute him ended in a mistrial last November, following more than a month of testimony and several days of jury deliberations. On Nov. 30, the jurors informed L.A. Superior Court Judge Charlaine Olmedo that they were “deeply divided” and could not reach a verdict.

In 2017, Netflix fired Masterson from The Ranch after he was accused of raping four women in the early 2000s. During the show’s Part 5 finale, his character, Rooster Bennett, was threatened at gunpoint and forced to leave town; Rooster was later killed off in a freak motorcycle accident in Part 6.

“I am obviously very disappointed in Netflix’s decision to write my character off of The Ranch,” Masterson said in a statement at the time. “From Day 1, I have denied the outrageous allegations against me. Law enforcement investigated these claims more than 15 years ago and determined them to be without merit… In this country, you are presumed innocent until proven guilty. However, in the current climate, it seems as if you are presumed guilty the moment you are accused. I understand and look forward to clearing my name once and for all.”

Because legends never die, 83 year old Al Pacino has knocked up his 29 year old sugar baby girlfriend with his fourth child. The baby mama, Noor Alfallah is really into rich old men because before Pacino she was with Mick Jagger and a 60 year old billionaire.

Pacino also has a 33 year old daughter and a pair of 22 year old twins.

What, you think a woman in her 20's can't be passionately in love with a man older than her grandfather just because he happens to be rich? So cynical....

Have you guys heard the latest rumor that Jamie Foxx was left blind and partially paralyzed since he suffered what is said to have been a massive stroke? I want to believe that this is all bullshit but it's been months and almost nothing has been confirmed so it makes me worry this might not be bullshit.

As terrible as a another F&F movie sounds, Jason Mamoa may be the sole reason I check this out. I watched some BTS clips, and for the most part, when he's one the motorcycle, he's legit on the bike. When he's on the bike, if it's not a retarded stunt, he's on the bike.

I watched a great BTS clip the other day and now I can't find it.

BTS = Behind the Scenes

I love how in the first Fast movie they're a gang of DVD player thieves but by the fifth movie they're a spec ops team with all on the job training and by the eight movie they've conquered and rewritten the laws of logic and physics. I can't wait until this franchise goes to space for a whole movie....

Treat Williams passed away following a motorcycle collision. I remember seeing him in Everwood and some random B-movies like The Substitute.

Not sure I’ve seen much of his work lately, though, besides a Hallmark Christmas movie or two.

I revisited The Substitute franchise about six months back, what an absurd movie series that was. I'll probably always remember Treat best for Once Upon a Time in America and Things to Do in Denver When You're Dead.

It's a shame that he had to die for someone else's stupidity...

RIP Treat Williams.

I forgot to reply to this.

Me and my old man grow a few things as seasons allow. Yearly staples are Snow Peas, Snap Peas, Green Beans, Spinach, Giant Tree Tomatoes, Cucumbers, and Capsicums (I believe you US folk call them Bell Peppers).

We generally try something new each year - last year it was potatoes - but we have mixed results. Unfortunately, my old man is a little on the stubborn side and insists in growing things directly in the ground. Sure, he'll buy compost and additives, etc, to do it right - but he refuses to build up some basic raised beds to amplify better soil, or even utilise buckets like you do with your potatoes to get premium results. Shit. The old prick even refuses to hook up some permanent automated irrigation system - despite having three massive rainwater tanks. He either stands there with a hose and waters them himself, or it rains. That's it.

It's funny. My sister has a small garden area - maybe 30m² (approx 19ft x 19ft) and the ground there is fertile as fuck. Anything grows, in abundance, but everything she or Dad plants there gets wasted because she doesn't maintain it. Pisses my Dad off to no end. I might hit her up and see if she'll let me build a raised garden bed or two with an irrigation system and see what happens.

Down at the van I and a couple neighbors have a few small batches of Lemons, Limes, various Chilli peppers, Cherry Tomatoes, and baby Capsicums - but, with the exception of the lemons and limes - how they go depends on the frequency we are down there.

That's pretty cool you guys have crops. Lots of labor involved with the planting and such but it sounds like you guys will have quite the bounty.

I also grow some veggies and fruits and I harvest them at the supermarket. Interestingly, my strawberries and blueberries grow in plastic boxes without any stems. Pretty convenient!

I figured if anybody here besides me was growing food than it had to be you since the others are city boys.

I also planted some Cucumbers and Spinach last week. I've never grown either before.

I wanted to be able to control the pests a lot easier as well as moisture levels so that's why I went with the five gallon buckets. Not to overlook the INSANE price of wood right now. I went to buy plywood last week for a new work bench and a 4x8 sheet of 3/4" birch plywood is now $140!!!!! It was $35 in 2019 when I last bought a big stock of it.

Although plywood isn't necessary for building raised beds nearly all wood has exploded in price so I went with $4 buckets for now and I built everything else out of 2x4's since I can still pick up Hemlock for cheap. I might end up making raised beds entirely from 2x4 since I can literally buy FORTY 8 foot long 2x4's for the exact same price as a single sheet of plywood....

I have had some pretty damn good early results with the potatoes. They've been a supremely easy crop to manage so far, I hope the final results in the buckets look as good as they do from the outside. I'll have to snap some pics to share here.

My dad is a stubborn old bastard too, you can't teach him anything especially when it comes to growing food. Our soil is mostly clay so growing in ground isn't really an option, not to mention that I'm not a 1920's hayseed so I don't garden on my hands and knees cause I'm too old for this shit and the growing game has evolved too far since then. I want to move forward with vertical gardening and using less space as I expend the yields.

I grew up picking fresh berries as a kid from the field of bushes that were once behind my house, have you only ever had that long term storage shit from grocery stores? You can grow them in containers and on apartment patios these days.

The most I have is three tomato plants that grow grape tomatos. They yield so many I get sick of them by the middle of August LOL. They are so easy to maintain. Just a little water and plenty of sun and it's non-stop.

No fruits for me, though. One day I will get to it.

I've never grown grape tomatoes but I'm growing cherry tomatoes right now. Next year I'd like to grow some San Marzanos but maybe I'll try grape tomatoes too.

I used to eat pounds of fresh fruit every day and I've missed it, I waited too late this year to buy them so next year I'm going to plant a dozen raspberry, blackberry and blueberry bare root bushes but to get started this year, I've got two Raspberry Shortcake bushes growing on my patio.

Last month exotic dancers in a North Hollywood club called Star Garden unionized after a year and a half long battle to do so and they won becoming the first strippers to ever be unionized. Yesterday, they showed up in solidarity to support striking WGA writers and they brought a pole to show their literal support... Razz

I had another 55" TCL tv burn out on me last night. Luckily, Roku decided to start producing their own tvs this Spring instead of outsourcing due to quality issues over the exact same backlight issues I've experienced on every one of the TCL tvs. I got a brand new Roku 55" online from Best Buy as part of their father's day sale, a 55" 4K for $328. I caught the sale in the last 60 minutes...

Before you ask, this latest burn out was not on the replacement tv that I got last year when I had another backlight burnout, that's a 65" Insignia and still going strong.

WGA strike is not doing so well.

Because I can just buy $300 tvs every few years. Razz
