I won't be surprised when things turn violent and murderous after a total overreaction to somebody sneezing in a public place, like a Wal-Mart. Yeah, that definitely seems like something that would happen at a Wal-Mart.

People are acting like millions have already died and we're in the middle of 12 Monkeys but it's only a few thousand worldwide, that's not even a drop in the 8 billion people bucket. More people have probably died due to gun violence this week in New York alone than the entire world's fatality rate due to the beer virus.

Shit is getting real like Cenk Uygur gets real.

De Blasio is closing schools in NYC until, at minimum, April 20. Wowowow never thought this would happen.

Washington's schools were all closed last Tuesday but that's because our governor wasn't wasting time like they do in New York.

What was the Tall Man waiting for, the infection rate to spread rapidly while he smiled for all the photo ops in the meantime?

As much as I dislike that guy, I support his decision to have kept the schools open. The decision to close them is not easy. There's a lot of single parents who work jobs which are essential or hourly. They have nowhere to put their kids

Think about it like this: You're a single parent, you have to go to work. Let's say you're a per diem nurse. You can't bring your kid to work with you for your shift and there are no babysitters or family available to watch your eight-year-old kid. What do you do? You can't leave him alone at home. You cannot bring him to work. School is where many parents rely on as daycare because their kid is safe in school for a decent portion of the day.

NYC schools also provide free meals for many. This free food is only going to be available for five days this coming week. After Friday, there will be no more meals which the kids can come pick up and bring home. Imagine you're a struggling parent who also relies on these meals for your kid. What are you going to do now that you have no one to watch your kid, no meals which you rely on, and you cannot take days off from work because you will miss pay.

He is stuck in a catch-22. Everyone is mad for keeping the schools open and everyone is mad for closing them.

They are closing schools until April 3 here but they are saying that could change. You make a good point Joey. I've heard some parents struggle with that and had to call of work to take care of their kids. Still, safety is the priority right now it seems.

My sister is a bartender at a private club and her work was just closed until further notice along with all other restaurants in my town. Apparently her employers are going to be using her accrued sick time to cover her wages during the closure. Is that legal? During a pandemic where your job closes down, your employer can make their employees use their sick time? That sounds shady as hell to me.

This is where those rich celebs/actors/musicians/fame-whores that have been riding Bernie Sanders socialist dick for cheap fame points need to step up. Time to put their money where Bernies ideology is and find out out who really is just full of shit.

Steph Curry (basketball player for Golden State Warriors) just donated $1mil to feed kids that rely on school for meals on weekdays.

That has to be illegal, and the boss sounds like a fucking dick.

Having said that, with it officially being declared a national emergency, I'll assume employers will be able to get a rebate for wages lost/paid etc. So once it's all settled, she should be able to get those sick days back.

American celebrities are only socialists on Twitter, they're capitalists first.

If they were going to return the sick days at the end, that'd be fine but I don't think they will. It's a members only type of bar with a board of trustees instead of one owner and all the trustees are the over sixty barfly crowd who wanted to drink for free so they opened their own bar at the local fairgrounds. I can't imagine there will be any kind of reimbursement when this is all over with.

If your employer is the kind of scumbag that fires you during a national emergency then it feels like a righteous action to burn that establishment to the ground. A firing for a firing, you burn that mother down. I learned that from Milton after the Swing Line incident of '99.

Ukranian actress and Bond babe Olga Kurylenko has tested positive for Corona. First Hanks and now Kurylenko, why not Michael Bay or Ryan Reynolds?!?!?!!?

Jon Oliver is going off the air for awhile after following suit of more than 100 shows in shutting down production but before he goes he dedicated the entire last episode to the beer virus.

Game of Thrones Tormund Giantsbane aka Kristofer Hivju has tested positive. He's currently in isolation with his family back in Norway. He's been filming season two of Netflix's Witcher series but production was shut down and the sets have been ordered to have a deep cleaning in the meantime after Kristofer tested Positive.

Why does this virus keep only infecting the celebrities that I like?!?!!?!??!?! It's a conspiracy!

Jared Leto just spent twelve days mediating in the desert so he only learned about the Beer Pandemic today.

Of course Leto is that guy.

So the virus comes after Tom Hanks, Olga Kurylenko and Tormund Giantsbane but it opts to spare Jared Leto!?!?!?!? And you people continue to doubt me when I say there is no god........

Even if he had his phone he might have had no reception.

I am currently working from home which is a pain in the ass. I prefer to be in the office and face to face with the people I need to work with. Doing conference calls all day now. It kinda sucks.

I'm using this pandemic for only the most noble of causes and that is spending quality time with women who are expecting the end times and are looking to enjoy life while they still can. Cool

I'm also binging a few different shows in my spare time.

Very few businesses are still open around me. Our grocery store shelves are still cleaned out, if they don't get the logistics of a restock together very soon, people are going to be fist fighting for food within the week. You cannot get meat from any grocery store within 30 miles of my home.

Reno 911! Revival: Dangle's Meeting Is Derailed by Squirrels in First Video
We need all the laughs we can get right now — and luckily, Lt. Dangle and the Reno 911! squad are back on the beat.

The full cast of the Comedy Central cult favorite is set to reunite for a revival on Quibi — debuting Monday, April 6 — and we now have a first look at all the small-town cop shenanigans. In the clip above, set in the familiar Reno sheriff’s department meeting room, Dangle (Thomas Lennon) is distracted by the sound of squirrels in the heating ducts… and it’s not just tiny footsteps he hears: “No one thinks it sounds a tiny bit like they’re singing?”

The others try to comprehend what he’s getting at, before Jones (Cedric Yarbrough) suggests maybe he should take a spa day to clear his mind. That suggestion, though, only makes Dangle more agitated…

Along with Lennon and Yarbrough, Reno 911! veterans Robert Ben Garant, Kerri Kenney-Silver, Niecy Nash, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Carlos Alazraqui and Mary Birdsong all return for the revival, which is officially billed as a seventh season of the series. (The Quibi version, however, will feature episodes that run ten minutes or less, as will all of Quibi’s programming.)

Vegas is now closed.

All Nevada Casinos Ordered To Shut Down For 30 Days By Governor
Nevada Gov. Steve Sisolak tonight ordered all casinos in Las Vegas, Reno and elsewhere to close for 30 days as part of an effort to stop the COVID-19 virus from spreading.

All non-essential businesses were ordered b Sisolak to close starting at noon on Wednesday. As with other states that have gone to a lockdown, the edict applies to all bars, gyms, beauty salons, barber shops, malls and restaurants that do not provide takeout and delivery services.

However, Nevada employment relies on the gaming taking place in Las Vegas and Reno, Although several casinos previously announced a decision to close, the final blow could devastate the Nevada economy.

Sisolak said at a press conference that all hotels and casinos will get time to remove guests before closing. Gaming machines are to be emptied and shut down as well. “My ultimate goal here is to come together as Nevadans to save lives,” Sisolak told reporters in Las Vegas. “That requires aggressive strategies aimed at limiting community spread.

“We don’t have time to waste. We must act aggressively and decisively to protect ourselves, our families and our communities.”

Gas stations, grocery stores, airports, banks, hospitals, the post offic and other essential businesses will stay open. Professional offices for doctors, lawyers and others can also stay open if they take precautions, Sisolak said.

Some major cities are likely to financially collapse, especially Vegas where the entire industry and the vast majority of all the employees work for casinos, hotels, bars, strip clubs or restaurants and all of them have now been closed. I honestly do not expect this situation to end for quite some time. I'm not the least bit afraid as that body count is nothing, if it suddenly spikes to 10k in a week then that's a good time to worry but this is mass hysteria taking over and ruling our lives.

How many of you guys are stuck in small places or surrounded by lots of people? I'm damn lucky being out in the wide open country, I can spend as much time outside as I'd like and not see another person. I spent nearly all day outside in the sun today just having a nice relaxing day but I came in and the news is mass hysteria and panic in the streets again. That made me wonder how things are for you guys and how much of an impact this Beer Virus panic has had around you.

In better news because of all the movie theater closures, there is about to be a massive influx of VOD titles hitting months before they were originally scheduled such as Birds of Prey, The Invisible Man and The Gentlemen and in some cases not even released yet titles such as Vin Diesel's upcoming Bloodshot, it will be released next week on VOD since it won't be getting a theater release anytime soon.

And also, Idris Elba has tested positive.

I'll be honest, now I'm a little worried. Some are saying recession is fast approaching. Heard about Trump's $1K relief plan but I'm not sure what good that will do. I think mortgages, interest rates and other bills in general need to be on hold because a lot of people are not working right now. I'm glad they are stopping interests on student loans for now.

It's scary man, a lot less people and cars on the road than I'm used to seeing. I wonder what it's like in places like New York. Joey?

Nice! Besides Birds of Prey, those are titles I was looking forward to checking out.

I'm in a similar spot to you. Whilst my area is as populated as any suburban area, I'm 2 hours from a major city, and my area is still fairly rural, so it's easy enough to keep my distance from people. Plus I have a beach 15 minutes away.

I do regret not buying a 4wd last year like I wanted to. I'd have no issue just packing up and going camping for a couple weeks.

Most of the people that seem to be getting infected in my State are from the city and the more affluent suburbs, and those around them. They're people that are around people that frequently travel (or have international guests) and also always go to gatherings (always eating out, dinner parties, concert goers etc). People that just insist on being social.

NYC is eerily quiet based on the pictures I have seen. Never seen Times Square so empty during the middle of the day.

My office is empty save for the poor souls who work in Accounts Payable. The manager of that department does not allow her employees to work from home so they have no VPN access.

Only two people on my team are still going into the office daily.

Working from home still sucks. I need more monitors.

I've still got that cabin out in the woods I used to take my annual trips to when I was still working and needed to get away. Depending on how things shake out here in the coming weeks, I may take my family up there for awhile.

I too have a beach that's only 15 minutes away from me. However, my beach isn't sandy its loaded with rocks although we do not have 20 foot man eating pissed off crocodiles, so I think I prefer my rocky beach in that context. Razz

Nursing homes have the highest body counts around here because they're trapping very old people with poor health in little rooms with no clean air. I am spending as much time as I can outside or working in my garage, so except for when I go to town, there hasn't a big impact on my life. I feel like city folks are going to have the hardest time with this because they spend all their time crammed into subway cars or going to bars and clubs but out here we just go to the woods or the mountains and those can't be closed.

Joey, I see they've closed down the Queens Amazon today following an infected worker. Will this impact any of your purchasing?

Where do you guys get your groceries? You have to be in contact with people eventually. Even Amazon is going out of stock on some items like water and toilet paper.

I have a Kroger/QFC and a Haggen Grocery in my town but there isn't anything available at either right now, they've been cleaned out and continue to be on a daily basis. You cannot get meat, milk, eggs or any paper products, no napkins, paper towels, toilet paper there is just nothing.

However, I am a big bulk shopper and back in early February before I even knew about Corona I re-upped my stock. For most products I have at least a six month supply of every household item I use I have closets full of anything I'll be needing until late Summer. I typically only go to the grocery store about twice a month for meat because I'm fully stocked on everything else but as soon as I heard about the Beer Virus I loaded my freezer with a long time supply of meat. I can also barter some of my stock with my neighbors who are big hunters and have freezers of fish and four legged critters.

Lost's Evangeline Lilly says she won't self quarantine because she values her freedom even though she's living with her father who has stage 4 cancer and a few hours later Lost's Daniel Dae Kim announced he's tested positive.

I don't think my purchasing has been affected. I ordered TurboTax (PC digital download with a $10 gift card bundle) on the 17th and for whatever reason, Amarzon decides to mail me my ten dollar gift card instead of just sending me an electronic code. The gift card was delivered in two days when I was actually supposed to receive it on the 25th via USPS.

I watched an Amarzon delivery driver today just throw packages onto the door steps. How fucking lazy can you be? That just pisses me off seeing that. Put the packages down. No need to just drop them or, even worse, throw them! That guy was a true asshole.

I went to Kroger today and they had eggs and milk (they are limiting customers to 2) but all the meat and chicken is cleaned out. Checked for beans, tuna, pasta/sauce and there were NONE!

Wylde, you got a guest room? Flights are cheap now so I'm on my way! Razz

Does she have kids? I don't understand why she's being inconsiderate. Didn't know about DDK, that sucks.

Yeah, I hate that too. Maybe he's pissed that he has to work today and doesn't give a shit. I hope those packages weren't fragile.

Hopefully this starts to stabilize in the next week when people realize they won't die as fast as Fox news is claiming. Though I've seen quite a bit of news footage of dumb ass teens and other millennial morons on spring break packed across Florida beaches ignoring the warnings and partying cause all 20 year olds are booze soaked morons.

Yes, Evangeline has two young daughters and was bragging about dropping them off at some dance camp and not letting this pandemic effect their lives. I should have known a woman that beautiful would have shit for brains.

Damn, clearing them before they got on didn't do shit because they probably weren't showing symptoms at that time.

They tested about a dozen passengers that had possible symptoms, but let them all go before getting the results. Mad

Simon Pegg and Nick Frost Made a Shaun of the Dead Quarantine PSA

Simon Pegg and Nick Frost have just parodied a classic Shaun of the Dead scene. The duo did a coronavirus PSA and did not even have to leave their respective homes to do so. By now, the whole world knows about COVID-19 and its dangers, but some people still need some help remembering what is still okay to do and what is not. Luckily, Pegg and Frost have everybody covered.

Shaun of the Dead memes are basically everywhere right now as apocalypse jokes spread. There's no get togethers or parties for the time being since everybody has to practice social distancing, so social media is delivering a decent amount of comedy while the world deals with coronavirus. In an effort to remind people about aspects of social distancing, Simon Pegg and Nick Frost reprise their Shaun and Ed characters and do a hilarious take on the "Wait For This All to Blow Over" scene.

There is no killing of an elderly family member, nor are our characters rushing over to see mom. Instead, this Shaun of the Dead parody takes place in the current coronavirus time. Shaun and Ed are on the phone together because they obviously should not be in the same room since they're practicing social distancing. Shaun gives Ed the plan, which also does not involve going over to Liz's house. They deconstruct a few jokes, introduce a toilet paper gag, and then hang up. While it's a good coronavirus PSA, it was probably just an excuse for two friends to call each other on the phone. Simon Pegg then drinks some coffee from a Star Trek mug with the logo directed right at the camera.

Simon Pegg has recently cast doubt on a new Star Trek movie coming out in recent months, so his coffee cup was more than likely a reference to that. Fans are still waiting to see what happens next with the franchise, while Shaun of the Dead fans wonder if there will ever be a sequel. Pegg has said that he and director Edgar Wright talked about it in a pub for a few hours, but it never went past stage. The actor has said the sequel involved vampires and that it was totally ridiculous.

This coronavirus PSA is the next best thing to a Shaun of the Dead sequel. It is spreading good information at a time where there is a ton of misinformation spreading like wildfire. COVID-19 is all over North America and it is likely cases will go up once further testing is allowed. Home tests are reportedly on the way and they will pretty pricey. As for a cure, there isn't one yet, which is why everybody has to practice their social distancing.
