‘Jurassic Park’ Trio Laura Dern, Sam Neill & Jeff Goldblum Returning For ‘Jurassic World 3’
Jurassic World: Dominion (June 10, 2022) Sam-ne10
EXCLUSIVE: For Jurassic World 3, Universal Pictures will bring back original Jurassic Park stars Laura Dern, Sam Neill and Jeff Goldblum to star alongside Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, sources said. Colin Trevorrow is back to direct and production starts early next year.

Dern moments ago revealed her participation in the film, as well as Neill’s and Goldblum’s returns, at a fan screening tonight of Battle at Big Rock, an eight-minute short film that Trevorrow directed and showed tonight, featuring dinosaurs running amuck after they’ve escaped to the real world. The last Jurassic World, directed by J.A. Bayona, ended with the revived beasts finding their way off the island and into civilization, so it might well be where the next installment of the film goes.

Steven Spielberg and Trevorrow return to be executive producers, while Frank Marshall and Pat Crowley are producing.

Emily Carmichael (Pacific Rim Uprising, The Black Hole), has written the Jurassic World 3 screenplay with Trevorrow. They worked off a story by Derek Connolly and Trevorrow, who together co-wrote Jurassic World and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.

Dern, Neill and Goldblum all originated their roles in the 1993 blockbuster that started a series that has grossed a cumulative total in excess of $5 billion globally, and broadened into video games, toys, novels, animated LEGO series and theme park attractions.

Dern reprised her role as Dr. Ellie Sattler and Neill reprised his Dr. Alan Grant role in 2001’s Jurassic Park III. Goldblum reprised his role as Ian Malcolm in 1997’s The Lost World: Jurassic Park, and again in 2018’s Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.

I will see every JP movie they make, I just can't quit this franchise. My inner child will always love dino movies.

I was pretty disappointed that Malcolm only appeared in one scene, so they better make up for it this time.

Jurassic Park Kids Want to Return for Jurassic World 3
Jurassic World: Dominion (June 10, 2022) Jurass11
The impressive list of returning franchise characters for Jurassic World 3 may soon expand even more, as the two child actors from Jurassic Park are reportedly interested in appearing. According to a new report, Ariana Richards and Joe Mazzello are said to be open to reprising the roles of siblings Lex and Tim Murphy for a cameo appearance or more, should they be asked to do so. Of course, even if the report is accurate, it's going to take some interest from Universal and director Colin Trevorrow to include them in the story, as neither former child star has yet been asked to be a part of the project.

If Richards and Mazzello happen to be cast for Jurassic World 3, they would be joining three of their co-stars from the original movie. It was just recently revealed three main characters from the first Jurassic Park were being brought back for the upcoming sequel, as Laura Dern, Sam Neill, and Jeff Goldblum have all been officially announced. Obviously, they'll be reprising the roles of Ellie Sattler, Dr. Alan Grant, and Ian Malcolm in Jurassic World 3, and the characters will reportedly have major roles in the story. While Goldblum had an appearance in Fallen Kingdom, the reunion will mark the first time Dern and Neill have been seen in the series since Jurassic Park 3. Of course, they'll be joining Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, back in their roles as Owen and Claire.

In the original Jurassic Park, Lex and Tim are introduced as the grandchildren of park founder John Hammond. Dr. Grant (Neill) reluctantly takes the children under his wing to keep them safe after the dinosaurs escape their enclosures. One of the more touching moments sees the three of them petting a Brachiosaurus from high atop a tree. Perhaps the more memorable scene involving the Murphy siblings comes after they reach the park's visitor center where they believe it's safe, only to be hunted in the kitchen by hungry Velociraptors. Fortunately, both children manage to survive and escape the island, with Richards and Mazzello later appearing briefly in the sequel The Lost World with Goldblum.

It wouldn't be strange to see Richards and Mazzello return, as this could happen with any character from the previous installments. After playing minor character Dr. Henry Wu in the original movie from 1993, BD Wong has since reprised the role in both Jurassic World and Fallen Kingdom. Adding, the trio of Dern, Neill, and Goldblum only further makes it clear those involved with the franchise are very open to seeing characters return. While the Lex and Tim Murphy haven't been seen since the second installment of the franchise, they were such a memorable part of the original, and checking back in with them would be awesome for fans.

In any case, Jurassic World 3 isn't set to premiere in theaters until June 11, 2021. Richards and Mazzello may not be attached to the project at this time, but anything can happen between now and then. This report comes to us from CinemaBlend.

New Jurassic World 3 Set Photos Show What It's Like Shooting During a Pandemic
Jurassic World: Dominion (June 10, 2022) 2512_d10
Following a halt in production amid the current global situation, Jurassic World 3 recently returned to filming, and now, a couple of new set photos have been released teasing two very different locations. The first image takes us to the summit of a cold-looking mountain, something that has been revealed in previous behind-the-scenes images, while the other looks like a much warmer, more exotic setting. Also in these photos, we capture a glimpse of what it's like to film during a pandemic, with Universal paying an extra $5 million for health and safety precautions.

The details surrounding both locations see in these latest photos are largely unknown, but we do know that a plane crash will occur at some point in the movie which results in our heroes trapped in the picturesque-yet-deadly snow-covered landscape. We can also tell that social distancing is in place, with oversized an clapboard to ensure that crew members far away can still see what's going on.

While not too much has been revealed about the upcoming sequel, previous set photos shared by director Colin Trevorrow have teased a return to Isla Sorna, the island prominently featured in both The Lost World: Jurassic Park and Jurassic Park III. Other set photos have revealed the return of the dreaded Compsognathus horde, as well as hint at the arrival of a new breed of dinosaur; the Pyroraptor.

Filming on Jurassic World: Dominion resumed in July following a production shutdown back in March. The movie picks up after the events of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, which ended with several different species of dinosaur being smuggled off of the Jurassic World island for a black-market auction.

Of course, as things often do in this particular franchise, this endeavor ends very badly, with the dinosaurs escaping and making their way out into the big, wide, modern world. With dinosaurs now let loose upon the world, Jurassic World: Dominion will see the return of Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard alongside the likes of Dr. Alan Grant played by Sam Neill, Dr. Ellie Sattler played by Laura Dern, and Dr. Ian Malcolm, played by Jeff Goldblum.

Trevorrow recently provided an update on the status of Jurassic World: Dominion, disclosing that, while things are ticking along nicely, there is still a lot of work left to do before the movie is finished. "We are right on time in the filming schedule," he said. "Obviously, it is not easy to film in these conditions.

Everyone is doing their own thing. and everyone is very disciplined, keeps his distance, wears his mask. Universal and the producers are putting everything at our disposal to make it happen. So despite this postponement because of the health crisis, we are on schedule. It's a really huge production, we haven't finished yet. We still have quite a few weeks to shoot."

It has also now been reported that the implementation of the new health and safety procedures have cost the production somewhere in the region of $5 million, with testing equipment alone costing as much as $3 million.

Jurassic World: Dominion is set to be the sixth movie in the Jurassic Park franchise and brings together an ensemble cast that includes actors from across the series including, Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Sam Neill, Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum, Jake Johnson, Omar Sy, Daniella Pineda, Justice Smith, Isabella Sermon and BD Wong who are all reprising their roles from previous movies. Jurassic World: Dominion is currently scheduled to be released on June 11, 2021. This comes to us from The Hollywood Reporter.

Jurassic World: Dominion (June 10, 2022) 34112110

‘Jurassic World: Dominion’ Delays Release to 2022
Dinosaurs won’t rule the big screen again until 2022.

“Jurassic World: Dominion” will now debut on June 10, 2022 — a year later than originally planned. Universal Pictures, the studio behind the sci-fi adventure franchise, initially slated the movie for summer 2021.

While announcing the release date change on Twitter, director Colin Trevorrow also debuted the first teaser poster for the film, with the familiar “Jurassic” franchise logo encased in amber, a callback to the 1993 blockbuster “Jurassic Park.”

“For the past three months, I’ve worked with an extraordinary cast and crew on a film we can’t wait to share with the world,” Trevorrow said. “Even though we’ll have to wait a bit longer, it will all be worth it. Let’s stay healthy and take care of each other until then.”

   — Colin Trevorrow (@colintrevorrow) October 6, 2020

“Jurassic World: Dominion,” which shut down filming in March due to the pandemic, was one of the first major movies to resume production. The studio took intense measures to keep the set coronavirus-free, including frequent testing, temperature checks and isolating the cast and key crew at a resort hotel. The cost of these protocols are expected to run in the $5 million range, according to insiders. “Jurassic World: Dominion” hasn’t completed filming yet, though sources say its about three weeks from wrapping.

“Jurassic World: Dominion,” the sixth film in the 27-year-old franchise, again stars Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard. They are joined by a star-studded group that includes Laura Dern, Sam Neill and Jeff Goldblum. Trevorrow is returning to direct after previously helming 2015’s “Jurassic World.” He also co-wrote the script for the 2018 sequel “Fallen Kingdom.”

The “Jurassic” series is considered the crown jewel of franchise fare for Universal. Collectively, the five movies have generated more than $5 billion at the global box office. “Jurassic World,” which revived the “Jurassic Park” story decades later, was a massive commercial success, grossing $1.6 billion worldwide. The sequel “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom” also joined the billion-dollar club, with ticket sales surpassing $1.3 billion.

Universal has been busy making changes to its release calendar in the wake of the pandemic, recently postponing “Fast & Furious” sequel “F9” from April 2, 2021 to May 28, 2021. Numerous movies have announced delays over the last few days, including “No Time to Die,” “The Batman” and “Matrix 4.”

‘Jurassic World: Dominion’ Wraps Unprecedented Shoot After 18 Months, 40,000 COVID Tests & Millions On Protocols; Colin Trevorrow & Donna Langley On The “Emotional” Journey
Jurassic World: Dominion (June 10, 2022) Jurass15
EXCLUSIVE: Jurassic World: Dominion began pre-production more than 18 months ago when the world was a very different place.

The $165M Universal blockbuster wrapped this morning at the UK’s Pinewood Studios after an unprecedented shoot, which required 40,000 COVID tests, millions of dollars spent on protocols, and for cast and key crew to isolate in a bubble for months.

“There are a lot of emotions,” director Colin Trevorrow told me last night on his way to shoot the movie’s finale, which will include “Jurassic legacy actors Sam Neil, Laura Dern and Jeff Goldblum, Jurassic World stars Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard and newcomers to the movie such as Mamoudou Athie and DeWanda Wise [who we’ve separately heard could have a big role in future instalments]…and some dinosaurs, of course.”

“I’m not sure I can put it into words,” continues Trevorrow. “It has been remarkable. Our crew and our cast has been so resilient. All producers have worked around the clock to make it the best it can be. It has been inspiring.”

That can-do energy came from many, and began right at the very top. Donna Langley, Chairman Universal Filmed Entertainment Group, told us: “As we continue to contend with the challenges facing our industry during a global pandemic, the collaborative nature of this production allowed us to safely complete nearly 100 days of shooting, and we are so proud of what this team was able to accomplish.”

As we revealed over the summer, Dominion was the first major studio movie to go back into production after the pandemic shut everything down in the spring and upended the whole industry.

Universal commissioned a private medical facility called Your Doctor to manage the entire production’s medical requirements. Testing was the backbone of the safety measures. Deadline can reveal that more than 40,000 COVID-19 tests were conducted, with .25% returning positive. That’s around 100 positive results. Some of these were false positives and some were returned prior to employment at Pinewood.

The studio set up a policed ‘Greenzone’ for the shooting cast and crew and all workers were temperature-tested every day. Two walk-through temperature testing stations were built at each end of Pinewood Studios with capacity of 1,000 crew over two hours, and each test station had a compliment of doctors, nurses and isolation booths.

There were more than 1,800 COVID-related signs across Pinewood, 150 hand sanitizer stations and 60 extra sinks. Cleaning was doubled and in the evenings all communal areas and facilities were antiviral fogged.

All in all, the studio spent between $6-8M on protocols alone.

Langley explains: “We designed our return-to-production guidelines with safety being the foremost priority and everyone associated with Jurassic World: Dominion stepped up, held themselves and those around them accountable, and the results have been amazing. Congratulations to our filmmakers and cast for their tireless efforts that paved the way for other productions across the industry to get back to work.”

Those efforts included the cast and crew creating a bubble at a UK hotel.

“We lived together, ate together, told stories, shared our fears and hopes, played Frisbee on the lawn… there was a lot of laughter at a time when it has been hard to find things to laugh about,” explains Trevorrow.

“We were all far from those we loved at a time when you want to be closest to them. I missed my family greatly. I was away from them for four months. But the cast in our bubble became another family.”

Trevorrow is hopeful that the experience will enhance the final film.

“I think that close proximity to each other has made the movie better. Everything we were going through emotionally we would share. We would rehearse on Sundays, we crafted the characters, which made the emotion of the film richer. I think the movie will be stronger for it.”

The filmmaker claims that the restrictions and delays — filming was initially pushed from February 2020 to July 2020 and then had to pause again in October due to positive COVID results — didn’t alter how he made the film. Designers spent months hand-crafting the dinosaurs, and a second unit still managed to get to Malta. There won’t be a need to fall back on additional VFX, he said: “You won’t be seeing whole worlds created digitally.”

“I’ve never been as immersed in a filmmaking process,” he continued. “Because of the protocols, the actors didn’t go far from set. The distance was stripped away. There were things that happened on this movie that I’d hope to be able to continue on future productions.”

For Trevorrow, Dominion uniquely speaks to the pandemic era.

“This movie is about the need to co-exist and survive together. If this pandemic has taught us anything it’s that we need the different generations to protect each other. It was the right movie to be making at this moment.”

It’s a long way off, and who know how the world/industry will look, but the plan remains to release the film theatrically in summer 2022: “It’s important to us the world is able to experience the film in movie theaters,” notes Trevorrow, who is also working with Universal on sci-fi epic Atlantis.

How do you celebrate the completion of such an undertaking?

“Tomorrow I will drive back to my house with some boxes and see my family: it starts there,” he says. The work on post-production begins soon after.

Like most in the industry and much of the world, the team has also been following this week’s tumultuous U.S. election. “We’ve all been well aware of what’s happening in the U.S. I hope we can all move forward together soon. A Biden win would be the perfect wrap gift,” he admits.

‘Jurassic World Dominion’ – Dinosaurs Rule the Earth in the Epic 5-Minute Opening Prologue
Take a journey back to where it all began…

As you may recall, a a 5-minute extended preview for next year’s Jurassic World: Dominion was played ahead of F9 *only* in IMAX theaters, and the prologue is now available online!

“The Extended Preview provides a sense of the film’s thrilling spectacle intended for the biggest and most immersive screens. Partially set 65 million years ago, during the Cretaceous period, the action-packed Preview features dinosaurs that have never been seen in a Jurassic film– and reveals mind-blowing scenes and pulse-racing surprises.”

The press release explained, “The five-minute Special Extended Preview of Jurassic World: Dominion, which audiences will be able to experience in full-screen 1:90:1 IMAX® aspect ratio, includes a prologue to the film’s narrative and is set 65 million years ago, during the Cretaceous period, when dinosaurs roamed the entire Earth. The breathtaking, action-packed scenes, featuring Oscar® winner Michael Giacchino’s iconic score, reveal what Earth looked like long before humans existed and tell the origin story of how dinosaur DNA first came to be carried by a mythic mosquito. The Preview features seven new species of dinosaurs, created by the legendary Industrial Light & Magic, that have never been seen in any Jurassic film before. But the Preview doesn’t end there and holds some real trademark Jurassic surprises with dinosaurs later roaming an Earth that is decidedly less theirs alone.”

The prologue features a flashback to the past before jumping ahead to the present, illustrating the two periods of time in which dinosaurs ruled the Earth. Then… and right now.

Experience all the epic glory above! And be aware that “the Prologue, a new, five-minute special prologue to Jurassic World Dominion, directed by Dominion director and co-writer Colin Trevorrow, is not featured in the film itself but is separate, original content. The Prologue serves as the beginning of a story that will be continued in theaters next summer.”

Dominion‘s cast includes familiar and new faces such as Sam Neill, Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum, Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Justice Smith, Daniella Pineda, Jake Johnson, Omar Sy, Dichen Lachman, Mamoudou Athie, DeWanda Wise and Scott Haze.

Plot details are still under wraps, but Fallen Kingdom promised a sequel wherein the dinosaurs are now on the mainland… and humans are falling to the bottom of the food chain.

Jurassic World: Dominion will open wide in theaters on June 10, 2022.

‘Jurassic World Dominion’ Trailer Rumbles Before Super Bowl
Universal has just dropped their official trailer for Jurassic World Dominion, the last chapter in the recent trilogy of the greater Jurassic Park franchise. The movie, directed by Colin Trevorrow, which was made during the pandemic, and saw its release date pushed will finally hit theaters on June 10.

If you’ve ever been wondering how dinosaurs survive and thrive in the snow, there’s plenty of that in this new installment to the $5 billion franchise.

But more importantly as returning Jurassic Park star Jeff Goldblum’s Ian Malcolm points out, “We’re racing toward the extinction of our species.”

“We not only lack dominion over nature,” he adds, “We’re subordinate to it.”

Dominion takes place four years after Isla Nublar has been destroyed. Dinosaurs now live—and hunt—alongside humans all over the world. This fragile balance will reshape the future and determine, once and for all, whether human beings are to remain the apex predators on a planet they now share with history’s most fearsome creatures.

Not only are Chris Pratt (Owen Grady), Bryce Dallas Howard (Claire Dearing), Daniella Pineda (Dr. Zia), Justice Smith (Franklin), Omar Sy (Barry), back, but other original Jurassic Park stars as well, Laura Dern (Dr. Ellie Sattler), Sam Neill (Dr. Alan Grant) and BD Wong (Dr. Henry Wu). Oh, and let’s not forget the Pterodactyl. He’s back too.

The film features new cast members DeWanda Wise (She’s Gotta Have It), Emmy nominee Mamoudou Athie (Archive 81), Dichen Lachman (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.), Scott Haze (Minari) and Campbell Scott (The Amazing Spider-Man 2).

There was buzz that the trailer would be airing during the Super Bowl, and well, here it is. Take a look.

Right there with you. I've enjoyed every JP movie since I was a kid and this looks like the sequel I've always wanted.

Seeing the original trilogy cast in the trailer alongside the new trilogy cast was nice.
