There's only one Charles Lee Ray turned Chucky and that voice belongs to the iconic and incomparable Brad Dourif, all others are merely imitations and Luke Skywalker should have stayed the fuck away.

This poped up in my YouTube recommended for some odd reason, I don't even watch political stuff on YouTube. It's got some great points though. I started watching and finished it. I like the idea of being able to vote from home and stopping corruption is more important now than ever.
Check it out guys if you get a chance. Can the system really be fixed or is it a dream?

The best part of that trailer was the Orion Pictures logo.

It took an hour or two but I was pretty much out of it the whole time talking utter nonsense from what I was told afterwards.

I need a tech opinion, I know that all of you guys know way more about computers than I do so I was hoping you guys could recommend your top recommendations for laptops. Something lightweight, portable and also a quality computer. Not interested in a gaming setup, just something reliable that I can use everyday. I'd been lookin at the MacBook Air but wasn't sure if it's worth the money or not.

I have a MacBook Pro that I love but if you don’t do anything much on it, I’d say you’re fine with the Air.
I fucking hate Windows these days so I definitely suggest Mac.

I've only ever owned one laptop in my life which was a Toshiba Satellite about 15 years ago but its been mostly all desktops in my life but I would like something more portable and reliable for what I would like to use it for. There are just so many options and when it comes to computer tech specs, I pretty much have no idea what any of it is or what I should be looking for in a potential purchase.

Oh yeah, an Air would be fine. Hell, if it’s mostly internet based you could probably just get an iPad but I assumed you’d also want to torrent and stuff like that.

I'm an old 33, I still prefer a physical keypad.

The Macbook Pro is about $1,400 on Amazon for the 256GB SSD 13" Retina. Which Pro do you have and does that price seem right?
UltimateMarvel wrote:I'm a Windows guy so I can't help you there Wylde.
I've grown up on every iteration of Windows since 95 and I have never really liked any of them and they always come loaded with so much useless bloatware. In high school all our computers were Macs and I loved the feel and userablity but it's been since the early 00's since I used a Mac other than Ipads and I have no idea how similar those platforms are to the Macbooks.

I use Office quite a bit so it's good to know it'd still be an option on a Mac.

Intriguing. How often does it go on sale? Is this like an every holiday item or almost never?

There are sales somewhat often, but always in this range. I have a 15” MBP with Touch Bar, I got the 512 GB open box for the price of the 256GB or less, can’t remember

Good to know, while I'm planning on buying one relatively soon but I'm not quite there on pulling the trigger. I've got more research to do and I wouldn't want to jump the gun just because of a sale so I'll likely wait for another one. However, if you guys happen to stumble on any good deals like this one again, I'd appreciate a heads up.

If that means they might be discounting the current MB's then yes I do care. Thank you.
BTW, is there a big difference in the Air and the Pro? Is it a minor software difference? I'm curious how you guys landed on the more expensive Pro.

If you buy it from Best Buy and such, you have to do a clean install after you buy it to remove all that junk. With Windows 10, it's very easy to do and doesn't take much time at all.
But for your needs, it sounds like a Mac will do the job.

Sure I've reinstalled it before Windows crashes all the time and needs to be reinstalled but I don't remember being able to clean up a bunch of programs as there are still endless programs that I have no idea what the hell they do.

Yeah I’ll probably get an apple card unless something changes my mind before they come out
The difference between the Air and Pro is hardware, I think they have the same default apps and they run the same OS

Alright, I'll do some deep digging since I see the Air is $900 and the Pro is $1400 and I'm just curious what hardware makes that $500 difference. I would probably be just fine with the 128GB since I have so many thumb drives and external hard drives that the smaller memory wouldn't have much of an impact. I already store all my files, music, photos and movies on externals. I might just need to go to an Apple store for the first time in my life and get hands on with some of these new fangled machines that all you city folks know so much about to get a better idea of what I'm dealing with.

The big difference is processing power of the CPU. Since the Pro is better suited to those doing graphics work, video editing, etc, they need more power, as well as a slightly better graphics card.
The other difference I believe is the Air is thinner, and only has two Thunderbolt ports - no USB ports, etc (so you'll need an adapter for your USB drives/sticks etc).
I don't think any of them have CD drives any more. I removed mine from my Macbook Pro, and replaced it with a bigger SSD harddrive and more RAM.

Yeah, none have disc drives, you’d have to get an external. I would’ve preferred to get an external blu-ray drive, but I got the Apple SuperDrive which is DVD.
Like Rusty said, the Pro's are generally geared to people who do a lot of graphic or video work, that’s why I was asking what you really would do. For your needs, I think an Air would be fine, you’d just need some adapters.

None of them come with disc drives? I just figured they were very well hidden, lol. I don't know how I feel about that, having to buy an external disc drive after spending $1400....actually my feeling is agitated. Thank you guys for bringing this glaringly obvious thing to my not paying near enough attention ass.
Are any of you into photography? Just curious about your latest camera preferences. I've only ever owned basic point and shoot Canon or Panasonics but am considering upgrading a lot of my tech around the house and I use my camera quite a bit but I've never spent more than $350 on a camera which is my Canon PowerShot 150XS but that is very outdated and is only a 14.1 MP while I was looking at a Nikon that is now 24.2 MP. I've looked at the Canon Rebel off and on for a few years now but never pulled that trigger. Just looking for some feedback on whether or not you guys own any these brands or if any of you have interest in this at all.

Yeah, doing a fresh install only installs the bare OS without all the programs.

I've never used a Fujifilm and hadn't even looked at it as an option, so thank you for giving me another brand to add to my research.
Last Summer I upgraded most of my lawn equipment and wood shop tools and this year I'm working on upgrading the indoor stuff. So that's my my randomness seems to be even more so than usual.

Yeah I love photography.
Had a few high-end DSLR's over the past 5-6 years. Canon 5D MkII, then onto a 1D-X.
I've downgraded though to the Panasonic GX8 as I found most of what I capture/record is just my cars, and didn't need such expensive cameras to do it. The tech advancements in the camera world have came along way in 10 years, and a lot of it has trickled down into the entry level cameras, like the Canon Rebel series.
They are interchangeable lens cameras though. Not sure if you want that hassle (and extra expense).
You can get the Rebel T7 for around $500 as part of a camera/lens kit.

WHAT?! Rust is this forums camera guy?! No way, now that's what I call a great twist!
The Rebel has been at the top of my list for years and will likely be my choice I'm just comparing around right now. I actually want the interchangeable lenses as I find that auto focus bullshit to constantly give me blurry photos of absolutely everything that isn't holding perfect still.

I read some negative reviews of Charmed and I used to watch the OG Charmed, they should have probably cancelled this one. I don't know about Roswell, New Mexico.
Question, what type of grills are best? Gas or charcoal? I'm seeing some sales going around and I might get one.

They're both remakes of WB shows, of course they renewed them and soon they will spin them both off.
