Goon: Last of the Enforcers (March 17 @ Canada)

The hockey comedy Goon was a nice little underrated gem of 2011, and while there had been talk of a sequel in the interim, it was unclear if the follow-up would actually come to fruition. Cut to today, where production is indeed underway on Goon 2, which is officially titled Goon: Last of the Enforcers. We know filming has begun because Jay Baruchel just shared an image of the cast reunited on set, decked out in full hockey gear.

In addition to producing and filling a supporting role onscreen, Baruchel co-wrote the first film alongside Evan Goldberg. For Last of the Enforcers, Baruchel is making his directorial debut, taking over helming duties from Goon’s Michael Dowse. Goon star Seann William Scott returns in the lead role as Doug “the Thug” Glatt, who in the first film went from bar bouncer to enforcer for a minor league hockey team. In the sequel, Glatt and the Halifax Highlanders reunite with a host of new players during a pro lockout.

In addition to directing, producing, and acting, Baruchel also co-wrote Goon: Last of the Enforcers with Jesse Chabot. Goldberg also returns, only this time in an executive producer capacity.

Filming is currently underway in Toronto, and as you can see by the image below, the gang is back together. Baruchel is a busy guy at the moment, fitting the Goon 2 shoot into his hiatus from the FXX comedy series Man Seeking Woman, which was picked up for a second season after a solid debut earlier this year.

As often as I see Liev and Pablo, I don't think I've ever seen them together.

Pablo's brand new show The Brink premieres tonight on HBO, btw.

Liev and Pablo are half sibs, the latter the product of dad's affair.

Perhaps they're not that close.

Ahhhhh so that's why they don't look all that much alike, never knew that bit of trivia.

Liev always seemed like a much bigger guy to me. I've never found Pablo to be very intimidating but he's nearly always hilarious.

Pablo was scary as fuck on Law & Order SVU as this psycho who took Liv hostage (played out over a couple years and a handful of episodes).

Ah I see, never been an SVU fan so I avoided it entirely.

The only dramatic work I remember Pablo from was season two of The Wire.

The only dramatic work I remember Pablo from was season two of The Wire.

His best work, closely followed by "Porn 'stache" on Orange is the New Black. He was also in one ep of The Black Donnelly's. He played the wheelchair-bound Veteran that wouldn't vacate the block of units.

This was a scene where Pablo, representing himself as lawyer so he can cross examine Liv and just fuck with her more, questions her about how she had him chained to a bed and just went to work on ol' boy with a lead pipe, after saying how her old partner (Stabler) would have known what to do with him (Pablo had a thing for young girls I think).

Didn't care for the William Lewis storyarc on SVU.

Pablo wasn't believable to me, plus the acting was OTT when cross examining Benson. Spitting and screaming all over the place.
