Nope. I haven't watched a Marvel movie trailer since Thor 2 but DC's trailers have made me wish I had dementia so I couldn't remember how awful their movies at WB have been.

Between movies and tv,crusaders in tights are everywhere and it's not slowing down and every single story is about saving the world.....I'm just so damned bored, I can't even bring myself to press play on a two minute trailer anymore because I know I'll fall asleep halfway through like I took a shot of Visual Nyquil.

Did You Catch Peter Parker in ‘Iron Man 2’? Tom Holland Confirms the Fan Theory
Tom Holland may have arrived on the scene as Peter Parker/Spider-Man in last year’s Captain America: Civil War but apparently everyone’s favorite wall-crawler was living under our very noses in the MCU for years before that. During his press rounds for the upcoming release of Spider-Man: Homecoming, in which the newly minted superhero defends New York City from the Vulture (Michael Keaton) and his thugs, Holland inadvertently confirmed a fan theory, one that reaches all the way back to 2010 and Marvel’s Iron Man 2.

Huffington Post got confirmation from Holland about a fan theory that theorized that a young Peter Parker was actually in Iron Man 2 as the Iron Man fan who was brave enough to stand up to one of the rogue Hammer Drones while at the Queens’ Stark Expo. Holland not only confirmed that this is in fact the case, but he double-confirmed it by saying he’d just talked about it with Marvel Studios’ boss Kevin Feige a few minutes earlier. Check out the moment from Iron Man 2 that served to cook up this fan theory:

Here’s what Holland had to say about the kid hero in question:

It is Peter Parker. I can confirm that, that is Peter Parker. I can confirm that as of today. I literally had a conversation with Kevin Feige only 20 minutes ago. Maybe I’ve just done a big, old spoiler, but it’s out there now. It’s cool. I like the idea that Peter Parker has been in the universe since the beginning.

Not only is that a cool win for fan theorists out there, it adds a fun wrinkle to the overall MCU and ever so slightly changes the context of the relationship between Tony Stark and Peter Parker. (And even if this is a bit of cinematic retcon after the fact, I’m fine with it, too.) While you’re waiting for Spider-Man: Homecoming to hit theaters on July 7th, now’s the perfect time to revisit Iron Man 2 to see the pint-sized Parker in action.

Marvel Studios Boss Lays Out 5-Movie Plan for Spider-Man
Gotta love a man with a plan. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has confirmed the bare minimum of speculation about the future of the Wall Crawler in the MCU — that Marvel has a 5-movie arc planned for Tom Holland’s Spider-Man.

In an interview with the Toronto Sun,  Feige laid out the near-term picture for Spider-Man, starting with the character’s debut in last year’s Captain America movie, “We are looking at a five-movie storyline — Civil War, Homecoming, Avengers: Infinity War, untitled Avengers, Homecoming 2 — or whatever we end up calling it — as an amazing five-story journey for Peter Parker,” said Feige.

He added, “In the way that the events of Civil War directly inform the opening of Homecoming and his state of mind as he goes back to high school, so too will the events of the next two Avengers movies as he continues with high school. This original 22-movie arc ends with the untitled Avengers in May of 2019 and then two months later it will be Peter and Spider-Man that usher us into the aftermath and how things proceed from there.”

“Spider-Man: Homecoming” comes out this week, and early reactions (not to mention the pro reviews) are, to put it mildly, extremely positive.

That's BS! That was just a normal kid that they decided to use now for Peter. If that was really him they would have said so years ago. lol

I expected more Spider-Man movies so it's not surprising. The reviews have been good so far and people are saying this version is better than Tobey's and Andrew's. I'm also hearing that it's best Spider-Man movie since Spider-Man 2 so that's high praise. Can't wait to check it.

Box Office: ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ Shoots to $257 Million Worldwide
Spider-Man: Homecoming ($874,357,374) - Page 5 Spider10

Spider-Man: Homecoming” is a domestic darling, and an international success.

The movie from Sony and Marvel made a reported $140 million at the international box office, as of Sunday morning. That, combined with the $117 million it’s expected to web from the domestic market, should give the film a $257 million global opening.

“Homecoming” is launching in about 60 percent of international territories this weekend. In Asia alone, the movie has earned $61.3 million. South Korea tallied a five-day total of $25.8 million. Mexico and Brazil powered Latin American earnings with $12 million and $9 million, respectively. The U.K. accounted for $11.8 million of the international total. Other key markets included Russia ($7.8 million) and Australia ($7.6 million). It has yet to open in major territories such as France, Germany, Spain, Japan, and China.

The latest Spider-Man movie offers a family-friendly take on the superhero genre. It stars Tom Holland, who got his start on the West End, as a 15-year-old Spider-Man struggling with the trials and tribulations of realizing the full of potential of his super powers in addition to the day-to-day problems any other high schooler might face.

Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), who serves as an ever-present part of the movie’s promotional materials, plays Spider-Man’s begrudging mentor in the film. Michael Keaton is the big bad, Vulture, Jon Favreau plays Spidey’s guardian, Happy Hogan, and Zendaya stars as Michelle Jones (“MJ”), Parker’s brainy classmate. Jon Watts directed the film, and is one of six people with a writing credit on the script.

Meanwhile, “Despicable Me 3” posted $139 million from 60 territories overseas for grand total of $298.4 million internationally. In China, it scored $66 million, or the biggest opening weekend for an animated movie in China. It also set a record for the biggest animated Imax opening weekend with $4 million. Other top territories included France, where the movie opened with $9.1 million, and Germany which pulled in $8.5 million.

For Paramount, “Transformers: The Last Knight” earned an additional $18.1 million. But the studio’s biggest bragging rights go to “Baywatch,” which crossed the $100 million mark overseas. Disney’s “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales” picked up $11.1 million at the international box office, while “Cars 3” earned an extra $8.7 million. And “Wonder Woman” posted $6.8 million for Warner Bros. at the overseas box office, raising its global total to $745.8 million.

I saw it and Tom Holland is indeed the best Spider-Man. His Peter Parker is spot on and his Spider-Man is inexperienced but very strong and capable. They did a great job balancing the high school and superhero life in this movie. Keaton was great as always. Zendaya's character was a surprise, wasn't expecting it but I love the twist. Marissa Tomei was awesome as a younger and cooler Aunt May.

A lot of funny moments in the film and I wish it was a little more serious but as the first movie, it works out great.

I don't like how Tony is giving him everything though, I'm glad Peter figured out the webbing aspect at least. Karen and all the other gadgets is too Starky, disable it and all is good.

I feel the same way. Nothing about this Spidey movie sounds remotely interesting. I liked the idea at first, but the longer time passes, the less interest I have in putting in the effort to check it out.

My Ulltimate Spidey comics are exactly the Spidey and Peter Parker I want, so I'll stick with them.

Spidey, Batman and Superman are characters I have given up on and I'm tired of thinking "Well, they'll get it right next time!" I've been saying that for what seems like decades now and I'm done.

Look at the fuckery they're pulling with The Joker and it will only get worse from there.

I'm interested in the Venom film but as another Petey Parker film? They forever castrated the character the moment they let Toby Maguire suit up.

I read the Ultimate Spiderman comics until Peter's death but then I stopped. It's the reason I picked my username actually. My PS3 said UltimateSpiderman was taken so I resorted to this. lol There are elements from the Ultimate Spiderman in the movie so I think you might enjoy it. It was a fun movie. It's no longer a DC vs Marvel thing especially since all of DC is total shit and I don't even bother to watch them anymore, same as the Marvel movies. I am just so tired of every movie being about one asshole trying to end the world while a bunch of other assholes in capes fly around and stop him.

At 32, I just don't have the love for heroes in tights that I once did, Marvel and DC have equally destroyed my childlike wonder.

Yep. Way too many interesting films and TV series to bother getting bogged down in uninteresting repetitive crap. I'll consider watching it on a boring Friday night once it hits Netflix.

Between Netflix and Hulu I have more content on my Roku than I could ever began to catch up on, so going out of my way to watch superhero movies seems like a waste of time now.

I see what you mean. It'll be extremely hard to find a superhero movie whose villain doesn't want to end the world though. I'd say Civil War doesn't fit that criteria.

So I got drunk last night and decided to rent it on iTunes. I wanted Baby Driver, but it's not available until next week, so I said fuck it and watched this instead.

Was pretty good. The suit was great. Holland is easily the best version of both Spidey and Peter.

Had this been my first Spidey experience (outside Civil War), I would have fucking loved it. My only problem is it's now the third Spidey I've seen and I just couldn't get into it, which is a shame.

Maybe I'll revisit it in 10 years and appreciate it more.

Had this been my first Spidey experience (outside Civil War), I would have fucking loved it. My only problem is it's now the third Spidey I've seen and I just couldn't get into it, which is a shame.

Maybe I'll revisit it in 10 years and appreciate it more.

They'll be on their 8th Spider-Man in 10 years...

Yeah, it's the same character but they've given us something new with this and Holland delivered on both sides of the character. I say just enjoy it and stop being picky. He's got Infinity War 1 and 2 and probably 2 more for his solo movies so he's not going anywhere. I'm a Spidey fan and I'm not gonna complain. Just want to see new villains and maybe a Sinister Six at some point, Volture was a good choice for this movie and it's someone we've never seen before there are way to still keep it fresh. And Keaton was a good get as well.
