Kong: Skull Island ($564,950,002)

Post by WyldeMan on 7/17/2016, 8:27 am

Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures’ “Kong: Skull Island” reimagines the origin of the mythic Kong in a compelling, original adventure from director Jordan Vogt-Roberts. In the film, a diverse team of explorers is brought together to venture deep into an uncharted island in the Pacific—as beautiful as it is treacherous—unaware that they’re crossing into the domain of the mythic Kong.

Kong: Skull Island opens in theaters on March 10, 2017 with
an ensemble led by Brie Larson and Tom Hiddleston. Also starring Samuel L. Jackson, John Goodman, John C. Reilly, Tian Jing, Corey Hawkins, Jason Mitchell, John Ortiz, Thomas Mann, Shea Whigham, Toby Kebbell, and Eugene Cordero.

I keep hearing how this is not just another reboot, the director swears its a fresh story about Kong. I hope the trailer proves him honest.

Yeah, I can get with that. This is the blockbuster I want. 1 bad guy, with no super-powers, gadgets, or entire race of expendable gadget powered nobodies.. Just humans getting their arses handed to them.

It's like Jaws, but in the jungle.

Jaws of the Jungle. Very Happy

There is also the potential that Sam Jackson will once again we be hilariously killed by a monster following a speech. Jurassic Park and Deep Blue Sea need a companion! Razz

Damn Hiddleston looks different when he's not in his Loki garb.

Finally figured out what this reminds me of.

It has an Apocalypse Now look and vibe to it.

I prefer the other trailer.

The new one shows Kong too much.

I still don't like this, the first trailer did nothing for me either. I think this movie is going to suck.

None of the trailers so far have me excited. I'll still check it out eventually though.

She does but it won't make the movie better.

Right there with ya. Every time I see a promo and they even bother to give brief glimpse at Brie or maybe allow her a single line of dialogue I'm thinking "she's hot as fuck but this movie looks like a massive bomb everywhere but China".

If early reviews are a sign, this might not pass the smell test.

This was exactly what I expected it to be. I found it boring, could barely finish it. Peter Jackson's King Kong was better.

There is a little surprise at the end, looks like they wanted to make more movies after this one. lol

They set up Kong vs Godzilla and the future of the franchise. I enjoyed this, I never liked Jackson's Kong but I've seen so many versions over the years of the story that none of it is new, it's just presented in a prettier package.

I doubt it but do they still plan on making it? It wasn't just Godzilla, they showed other creatures too.

LOL! Well, hopefully those turn out better. Some of the cast from this movie might show up on there too then, seems setup that way.
