Gary Anderson (GrooThePerverted) passed away.
Hey guys. I don't know if anyone here noticed but Groo had not posted here for a while. I am saddened to learn that he passed away on August 27, 2015. I found out by accident. I noticed he had not been around these forums as he usually posts a few times a day. I looked at the Memberlist and noticed his last visit to this site was August 26.
From time to time, he would send me random notes on Facebook and see how I was doing and I would do the same. I figured Gary lost his internet connection or something. I sent a couple of messages to him over Facebook messaging and then just decided to check his page with the intention of giving him a hard time about updating Facebook but not replying to my messages or coming to BDTV or Blu-ray.com. It was on his Facebook that I saw the messages.
At first, I was thinking "What the heck is going on?" but it slowly started to dawn on me that Gary actually passed away. His mother left a post on his page saying he died of natural causes. My first thought was "The dude is only 40. What natural causes???". As I was in shock, I messaged Wylde about this asking him if he knew what was going on as I thought maybe I had missed something here on this forum.
I exchanged a couple of PM's with Wylde and found out he didn't even know this either.
Over these few messages with Wylde, I have realized the internet is such an incredible place. Had I not been in regular contact with Gary, I would never have found out he passed away. I would have just thought he got tired of this site.
For the record, I really, genuinely liked Gary. He was a nice guy and the conversations we had were always fun. In the limited capacity of which I had known him, I thought he was actually a good person. A long while ago, I wanted a blu-ray but did not have Amazon Prime. He said "Just give me a gift card for the value of the movie and I'll Prime it to you." I did just that and two days later, the blu was at my door.
I just wanted to share this news with you all. We all chatted with him so I thought you guys would have wanted to know.
Gary, I miss you already.

Thanks for posting Joey, I was hoping you would.
I created a thread for Gary that I put in the tv forums just because I wasn't sure how often this subsection actually gets visited by our members. Once everybody knows I'll merge them and we can have a memorial thread for Gary...

Ah, I had not looked in the TV section. I think that's cool to leave it there. Heh heh he would have liked that.

I hope the natural causes means it was peaceful. So sad though, so young.
