Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 ($732,599,474) Cba-8s10
Marvel Studios today confirmed today that Kurt Russell, Elizabeth Debicki, Chris Sullivan and Pom Klementieff have joined the cast of Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2, which has started principal photography in Atlanta for a May 2017 release.

Set to the all-new sonic backdrop of Awesome Mixtape #2, Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 continues the team’s adventures as they unravel the mystery of Peter Quill’s true parentage. The film is produced by Marvel Studios’ president, Kevin Feige, with Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Jonathan Schwartz, Nik Korda and Stan Lee serving as executive producers.

James Gunn returns to write and direct after leading the first film in the franchise to a global box office cume over $770 million. Also back on-board is the Star-Lord himself Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel as the voice of Groot, Bradley Cooper as the voice of Rocket, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillan and Sean Gunn.

James Gunn announced the Kurt Russell news on his own Facebook page, writing, “My favorite movie as a small child was The Strongest Man in the World, so I’m glad to announce that, yes, Kurt Russell has joined our cast and, yes, he is more awesome a dude than I ever could have imagined.”

Russell was mostly seen in Quentin Tarantino’s The Hateful Eight.  Elizabeth Debicki was in Guy Ritchie’s The Man From U.N.C.L.E. and also stars in the Ink Factory’s eagerly-anticipated John Le Carre adaptation The Night Manager opposite Hugh Laurie and Tom Hiddleston.

Yup, Kurt's names has been rumored for months now I just never thought it'd happen. He's playing Peter Quill's father.

Sylvester Stallone's will be featured as one of Yondu's Ravagers in Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2, and has a few scenes already completed. No other information, like his name and purpose, is known at this time, but with the casting of Stallone, it looks like the Ravagers might play a bigger role in the new film than they did in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1.

Ohh right, I forgot about that.

The last film she was in that I saw according to IMDB was Resurrecting the Champ with Josh Hartnett back in '07 and prior to that it was 2 Days in the Valley in '96 and that had so much 21 year old Charlize Theron skin that I just don't even remember Teri. I didn't realize how little she's actually worked for as long as she's been around, ten movies since 2 Days was released 20 years ago.

Vol. 2’ Has Five (!) Post-Credits Scenes

When it comes to Marvel movies, by now audiences know to stay through the the credits. It’s a tradition that began with Jon Favreau’s Iron Man, where Favreau and Marvel’s Kevin Feige shot an extra scene teasing Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury as something they thought might be fun for fans, and which blossomed into a fully formed trend for big blockbuster movies. Then Joss Whedon upended the formula with The Avengers, including the traditional mid-credits scene that teases movies to come (in this case Thanos), but also a scene at the very end of the credits that was purely for goofs—the Avengers eating shawarma. Thus began Marvel’s new trend of including two post-credits scenes, one setting up a future movie, and one that’s basically just a fun extra scene. And now with Guardians of the Galaxy 2, writer/director James Gunn is shaking up the formula once more by including five post-credits scenes in total.

Yes indeed, Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2 screened for critics last night at its Hollywood premiere, and as the mostly positive reactions flooded in, so too did the news that the film included four scenes scattered throughout the credits. Gunn has since taken to Twitter to add that there are actually five scenes in total for audiences to enjoy when the film hits theaters next month.

While details regarding the film are embargoed until a later date, we can tell you that three of the scenes are goofy, fun short little scenes, while one is a bit more substantial. Moreover, you’ll want to play close attention throughout the (very fun) credits, as you may be able to spot a few surprises. You’ll remember that the post-credits scene for Guardians of the Galaxy was a tag including Howard the Duck, so Gunn really doubled down this time around.

So yeah, when you see Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 on May 5th, you’ll definitely want to watch the entirety of the credits. Now you know.

Kurt Russell Couldn't Stop Calling Star-Lord Star Wars on Guardians Set
Kurt Russell had a problem spitting out the name Star-Lord on the set of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. He kept referring to Chris Pratt's character Star-Lord as Star Wars on set, as seen in the recently released bonus content of digital and Blu-ray releases of the movie. Apparently, the mistake happened more than a few times, resulting in big laughs from the cast and crew every time while clearly frustrating Russell. To add an extra level of humor to the situation, Russell originally tried out for the Han Solo role in A New Hope.

According to Hollywood Reporter, Kurt Russell told the set that, "we could be in trouble," jokingly referring to his frequent mentions of Star Wars. In a Guardians Vol. 2 outtake included in the bonus features of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Russell's Ego character is talking about the "man they call Star-Lord." Ego's Russell says this instead.

"Well, even where I reside out past the edge of what is known, we've heard of the man they call Star Wars."

In another take, Russell does it again and gets frustrated saying, "Yes, Star Wars. He's all of Star Wars. We've heard of the movie Star Wars. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 director James Gunn took to Twitter to confirm that Russell made the mistake more than once by saying, "Haha, he really did. That was the weirdest thing." But it makes sense; the two words are phonetically similar, they both take place in space and have weird aliens, they're both owned by Disney, and Kurt Russell auditioned to be in the original Star Wars Trilogy as Han Solo, which may or may not have added to the confusion.

Back in 1976 a young Kurt Russell was in the running to be Han Solo, a role that eventually went to Harrison Ford. The footage of the audition has been available online for a while and it features Russell portraying Solo as less rough around the edges than the character ended up. I'm sure if Russell had gotten the part there would be no question that he was the perfect Han Solo after all of these years, but George Lucas decided to go with Harrison Ford. It has been rumored that Sylvester Stallone, Nick Nolte, Christopher Walken, and Al Pacino tried out or were considered for the part as well.

Kurt Russell goofed up a few lines of dialogue and now it's preserved on Blu-ray for your viewing pleasure. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is available now to stream or download and will be available on Blu-ray starting August 22nd, 2017. As far as Han Solo is concerned, we'll get to see Alden Ehrenreich as a young version of the character in the Ron Howard directed Han Solo movie coming out on May 25th, 2018. While you wait for the official release of the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 Blu-ray release, check out Kurt Russell's audition footage for A New Hope below.

Han Solo could have been Kurt Russell but they went with Harrison Ford?!?!? Wow.....I did not remember that piece of trivia. I've always hated Ford....

Seems like the cast had a lot of fun on the Vol 2 set.

This was better than the first one I thought but at the same time it didn't really stand out. The Guardians are like family but I wish they didn't act like one all the time and they were more of a team. The constant shouting and bickering was kind of boring. Baby Groot stole the show though, he was cute and adorable and impossible not to like him. Yondu and Rocket were also pretty cool. The villain was also ok but what the actor could bring, he brought. A LOT of jokes in this one, too many jokes if you ask me. Drax was the funniest in this one by far, he had the jokes and sold them. lol Overall it was entertaining which is all you can ask from Guardians of the Galaxy.

Just watched this last night. Felt the same way. Drax, Yondu, Groot, and Rocket were standouts. Much like the first.

Despite the action, the movie was at its best when they slowed things down. When they speed it up and threw stupid one-liners around, it was shit.

By "the actor" do you mean the man, the myth, the legend the Kurt Russell?
