I was raised on Hank, that man is the very definition of country for me and I have spent years waiting for his story but like all the others before it, this looks to be another failure at that. His voice doesn't even come close, it just sounds like a cover song. I'm sure people will enjoy this but I am avoiding it like the plague.
Elizabeth seems to only make movies now that are opposite her Marvel co-stars.

He toured with a band, think it was during summer 2014.
Singing covers of Hank's songs.
As I recall, the reception was overall mixed.
The film was originally scheduled for release last November, then pushed back to
2016. My guess, studio didn't think it was a strong contender for
awards season.

The only singer who sounds like Hank Sr is Hank 3. He used to be the god damned spittin image of his grand daddy too before all the hard drugs took hold.

Hiddleston does resemble Hank Sr.
But..
Don't think this will be like Walk the Line, where Joaquin Phoenix pretty much nailed Johnny Cash.

Hiddleston is no Phoenix. I loved that movie.

Joaquin seemed to become Cash and that's why for my money Walk the Line is my favorite biopic and I have spent years waiting for Hank's story to be told right but they lost me the moment they cast Marvel's most recycled villain in that role.

Every time another Marvel trailer comes out "Today's forecast calls for a 90% chance of Loki"
Williams' grandson, singer Hank Williams III, has publicly expressed his displeasure for Hiddleston's singing skills.Soon after Hiddleston's performance of "Move It on Over" at the Wheatland Music Festival, Hank III posted on Facebook, "here is how you do it Tom, You got no moan or soul in your voice," along with a video of himself singing his grandfather's hit. Hank III went on to critique Hiddleston's role, saying "To do a Hank Williams movie the way it should be done you need certain aspects in the mix to make right. It goes way beyond having an American to play the role of Hiram Hank Williams, Sr. for it to be somewhat natural, it needs to be an American from the South who has eaten, lived and breathed these kind of roles before to make more respectable movie on Hank Sr."
