Love Blunt, nice addition. Theoron is returning? But I thought Ravenna was dead?

Is anyone really ever dead when magic is involved?

When you're stabbed through the heart? HELL YES! I guess this is where her sister comes into play, she resurrects her using magic from the dead. Because clearly she was dead in the first movie.

I loved the Darabont who made Shawshank and Green Mile. Kind of like the Darabont who made The Mist but the man and his ego just have driven me away from anything he does modern day. Mob City was a massive pile of shit and his Walking Dead stuff was IMO the worst of the series.

Universal has moved fast to replace director Frank Darabont in the follow-up The Huntsman, after Deadline broke the story Friday that Darabont amicably exited the role and the studio was hot on the trail already for a replacement. VFX wiz Cedric Nicolas-Troyan will take it on now, the studio confirmed today. He worked on the first pic, 2012’s Snow White And The Huntsman, landing a Visual Effects Oscar nom. He also was Second Unit Director on Disney’s Maleficent, and is in development to direct Bethlehem for Universal, so he’s certainly a known quantity on the lot.
The studio is keeping its April 22, 2016 release date. Darabont wrote the most recent version of the script.

No Snow White, What About The Dwarves?
EXCLUSIVE: It’s not just Snow White who’ll be missing from Universal’s The Huntsman. Most of the seven dwarves won’t be in the film either, Deadline has learned.
Nick Frost (Cuban Fury), Toby Jones (Captain America: The Winter Soldier) and Eddie Marsan (Sherlock Holmes: A Game Of Shadows) won’t be reprising their roles as the pint-sized companions from 2012’s Snow White And The Huntsman. That’s partly due to the fact that The Huntsman will only feature two dwarves, and it is still unclear who they will be. Marsan never was in the mix to return due to scheduling conflicts with his role on Showtime’s Ray Donovan, while Frost and Jones appear not to have agreed on terms to return for the second installment.

Yeah, the 7 dwarves story only works with Snow White so it makes sense to me. And it's good that "Snow White" has been removed from title or am I just noticing that now? lol!

So long as Ian McShane is a dwarf, I'm cool.

Jessica Chastain Joins & Nick Frost Returning
Jessica Chastain (A Most Violent Year) has joined the cast of Universal’s The Huntsman opposite Chris Hemsworth and Charlize Theron, who reprise their roles from the first instalment of the Snow White redux.
Chastain is currently filming The Martian for Ridley Scott opposite Matt Damon, Kristin Wiig and Kate Mara. The Academy Award-winning actress also has Guillermo Del Toro’s horror pic Crimson Peak in the pipelines.
Emily Blunt, rumoured for weeks, has closed her deal to star in the film. Also returning after all from the first film will be Nick Frost (Cuban Fury), who has now agreed terms to reprise his role as a dwarf Nion. Deadline first revealed exclusively that Frost and a number of other dwarves would not coming back, including Toby Jones and Eddie Marsan. It would appear that Frost and the top brass at Universal have now worked it out.
VFX wiz Cedric Nicolas-Troyan, who earned a Visual Effects Oscar nom for his work on the first film, takes the helm for his feature directorial debut. Frank Darabont, who had been set to direct before ankling earlier this year as first revealed by Deadline, wrote the screenplay, with earlier drafts by Craig Mazin and Evan Spiliotopoulos.
Joe Roth (Maleficent) returns to produce. Palak Patel will executive produce.
Vice president of production Maradith Frenkel and creative executive Chloe Yellin will oversee the project for Universal.

Charlize, Emily and now Jessica, god damn that is so much sexy in one movie.
Dropping that driftwood sized anchor after her affair has definitely not hurt the franchise, hahaha.

Wow! The cast keeps on building. This might actually be better than the last one.

It instantly became better the moment Stewart was dropped, but stacking the cast with beautiful Oscar nominees doesn't hurt.

The trailer will debut tomorrow, a 16 second teaser for the trailer premiered today but I refuse to watch those so I figured I'd wait until the actual trailer drops. Go ahead and post the bigger images, I haven't seen them yet.

She does look super HOT! Emily pulls off it off quite nicely too. Looks like a darker take on a Frozen movie, doesn't it?

Those are three of the sexiest women on the planet, pretty sure losing K-Stew isn't going to hurt them too badly. Thankfully they are putting this franchise in the hands of three gloriously talented and insanely beautiful women while Hemsworth gets to go swing his axe and make middle aged women sweat. If they put this franchise in his hands alone it would have died like everything else in his career that doesn't have Marvel attached to it but with these ladies there are plenty of potential sequels and spin-offs.

Ice Queen is about to go Scorched Earth on a bitch.
Nothing against ScarJo, but Emily would've kicked ass a Black Widow.

Cool second trailer! The first one I didn't like but I'm very excited about this one. It's mainly got to do with Blunt, she looks amazing. And it looks like she is the way she is because of Ravenna which is interesting.

Three of the sexiest women alive and a piece of driftwood. I hope they can overcome the curse of the Hemsworth...

Box Office: 'Huntsman: Winter's War' Crushed By 'Jungle Book' on Friday
Universal's live-action fairy-tale prequel The Huntsman: Winter's War flopped Friday at the North American box office, opening to $7.3 million — 64 percent behind Snow White and the Huntsman.
The movie, with a net budget of $115 million and playing in 3,791 locations, is now looking at a dismal domestic debut in the $20 million range, compared to $56.2 million for Snow White.
Rather, it's Disney's The Jungle Book that remains king of the multiplex. The film continues to defy expectations, grossing a stellar $16.6 million on Friday for a possible weekend north of $60 million. Through Thursday, Jungle Book has earned north of $377 million at the global box office.
The Huntsman is this weekend's only new nationwide release, and stars Chris Hemsworth, Charlize Theron, Jessica Chastain and Emily Blunt. In the 2012 film, Kristen Stewart starred as Snow White. Instead of making a sequel to that film, Universal decided to go in a different direction, banking on Hemsworth's star power.
The Huntsman is set before the events of Snow White and the Huntsman and centers on Hemsworth's Huntsman and fellow warrior Sara (Chastain), who team up with Ravenna's (Theron) sister Freya (Blunt) against the wicked witch. The female-skewing event film has been ravaged by critics, not helping matters. Audiences gave it a B+ CinemaScore.
Joe Roth produced Huntsman: Winter's War, which is directed by first-time feature helmer Cedric Nicolas-Troyan, who worked as a visual effects supervisor on Snow White.
A pair of high-profile films are opening at the specialty box office; Amazon Studios' Elvis & Nixon, starring Michael Shannon and Kevin Spacey, and A Hologram for a King, starring Tom Hanks.
Hologram for a King, playing in 401 theaters, looks to earn north of $1.1 million in its debut. Elvis and Nixon, rolling out in 381 theaters, may not cross $500,000.
Elsewhere in the top 10, Barbership: The Next Cut will come in No. 3 in its second weekend after Jungle Book and Huntsman with a projected $10 million weekend, followed by Zootopia and The Boss.

Nothing can save Hemsworth's sinking career now, it's going down like the Titanic.
