Prime Day was a bust for me. Did anyone here get anything good?
I wound up ordering a few expansions for some board games that I have and a few dice from Cool Stuff.
Mr. Jack pocket (full game)
Machi Koro: Millionaire's Row (expansion)
Takenoko: Chibis (expansion)
Tokaido: Crossroads (expansion)
Chessex dice (twelve D6 dice)
I won't be getting this order until some time in September as Takenoko expansion isn't coming out until then. They don't ship out until everything is in stock.

I still don't believe I've ever seen a full episode of it, Law and Order? My two least favorite things in life.

I didn't even know that was a thing until you guys posted about it, but nah, no purchases.

Aurora Theater Shooter Guilty Of First-Degree Murder; Death Penalty In Play
A jury has returned guilty verdicts in the trial of James Holmes, who attacked a midnight screening of The Dark Knight Rises in a suburban Denver multiplex three years ago. The jury could have found him not guilty by reason of insanity. Next up is the penalty phase, in which the same jury of nine women and three men will decide whether the shooter will receive the death penalty or life in prison without parole.
The killer faced 165 counts including 24 of first-degree murder, two each for all 12 people who were killed in the attack — murder in the first degree after deliberation and murder in the first degree with extreme indifference. There also were 140 charges relating to the 70 people wounded in the attack along with one explosives charge.
Among the instructions Colorado State District Court Judge Carlos Samour Jr. had given to the jury was this: “If the defendant is found not guilty by reason of insanity, it will be this Court’s duty to commit him to the custody of the Colorado Department of Human Services until such time as the Court … determines that he is eligible for release.”
On July 20, 2012, the gunman opened fire at a screening of the third film in Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy. Police say he propped open an exit door at the Century 16 multiplex in Aurora, CO, and went to his car nearby to change clothes and retrieve weapons. When he returned, he threw a canister of tear gas and started shooting moviegoers with multiple guns. He only stopped shooting after one of the guns jammed. He was arrested minutes after the attack.
Killed in the rampage were Micayla Medek (only 23 years old), Alex Teves (24), John Larimer (27), A.J. Boik (18), father of two Jonathan Blunk (26), Matt McQuinn (27), Jessica Ghawi (24), Alex Sullivan (27), Jesse Childress (29), father of four Gordon Cowden (51), mother of two Rebecca Ann Wingo (32) and 6-year-old Veronica-Moser Sullivan.

Re: Random Thoughts
I just found out one of the craziest meta facts in my life. Recently while watching Back to the Future for probably the 100th time, I watched with the Trivia track on and found out that Marty's high school Hill Valley High used throughout the movie was Whittier High School in Whittier, CA. The reason I mention this is my mom's side of the family is from Whittier and when I asked my grandma about it she told that was actually the high school she met my grandpa at. Earlier today I brought the movie over to show her the scenes in the school and when she saw a banner mentioning that it was 1955 she chuckled and told me that was the year she and my grandpa graduated from Whittier High. Makes the plot even funnier now knowing this bit of trivia. Mind blown...

Back to the Future is a documentary that was filmed in real-time. The "movie" is actually about your grandparents. Your dad has been jumping through time and altering timelines. You wouldn't know this, though, because every time he changes something, our timelines are also altered and memories we have change to fit the changes. This all happens seamlessly.
Don't bother asking your father about this. He will deny and make it seem like you're just acting weird but we know the truth.
Also, James Holmes doesn't deserve death. They should lock him up for life in Florence Supermax. That place is so fucked up. Worse than death a hundred times over.

It's my mom's parents but I like your thinking...
I don't believe in redemption or life sentences for murder, i'm old school, no twenty year stay on the Row with endless appeals resulting in millions of wasted tax dollars. Line em up against a wall and shoot the fucker, or torture him to death if that's your bag but just get it done already, why keep them in Club Fed living out a comfortable existence in our joke of an American prison system?

I just like the idea of Florence. That place is so fucked up. The amount of psychological damage inflicted in there is worse than death. The people locked up in there are not crazy. James Holmes isn't crazy in the sense that he is disconnected from reality. He knows exactly what he did and lives every day knowing he did what he did. Put him in Florence and he will wish he was dead every single day. To me, that's a far better punishment than death. Death is too quick and easy. Fuck that. Let him suffer for the next 50 years.

Re: Random Thoughts
A few years back this dude named Amerigo Gazaway put out a mashup of Mos Def (now known as Yasiin Bey) and Marvin Gaye called "Yasiin Gaye".
Heard great stuff but just never listened to it. I downloaded it when it was made available for free (due to copyrights they couldn't charge for it), and Gaye's estate I believe put the kibosh on it, and on the actual bandcamp page it says "Access Denied".
Despite that they still went forward and released the 2nd half of the tape as well. Well last night, for whatever reason I was looking through my itunes collection which is ridiculous in the amount of music that I have bought or downloaded, yet never listened to and settled on this and was just blown away by how perfectly it is put together.
You can actually download the 2nd half, "The Return" at Bandcamp, but the first 1/2 of the tape "The Departure" is not as easy to find. If any of you are interested in getting this, let me know.
NOTE: it takes about 50 seconds to get through the intro with dialogue from Marvin for the beat to kick in and the song to get going.

Bill Cosby New Deposition Shockers: History of Womanizing, Drugs and Deception Revealed
Bill Cosby revealed himself to be a serial philanderer who wooed women with the promise of mentorship and career advice, according to the newly-revealed full deposition from a 2005 civil lawsuit.
The deposition was the same in which he also admitted to obtaining Quaaludes to give to young women whom he pursued for sex.
The New York Times first reported details from the 1,000-page transcript of the deposition, which the paper said it had obtained through a court reporting service where it was publicly available.
Earlier this month, a federal judge unsealed a 62-page memorandum of law in the case, which Cosby and his accuser, former Temple University employee Andrea Constand, settled in 2006 for an undisclosed sum.
The Times report presents a damning picture of the entertainer who admitted to sexual liaisons with many women, some as young as 19. “I think I’m a pretty decent reader of people and their emotions in these romantic sexual things, whatever you want to call them,” he said in the deposition.
In the case of a model named Beth Ferrier, whom he met in the 1980s, Cosby recalled asking about her professional life and her recently deceased father. “Did you ask her those questions because you wanted to have sexual contact with her?” asked Constand’s attorney, Dolores Troiani.
“Yes,” Cosby replied.
The entertainer described his romantic pursuit of Constand, whom he met in the early 2000s at his alma mater, Temple University, in this way: “Inviting her to my house, talking to her about personal situations dealing with her life, growth, education.”
Though he said he offered Constand advice about her interest in pursuing sports broadcasting and described himself as a “mentor” to her, he also invited her to dine alone in his Philadelphia home and pursued a sexual relationship with her over the course of several years.
Cosby said that he tended to avoid sexual intercourse because “I feel the woman will succumb to more of a romance and more of a feeling, not love, but it’s deeper than a playful situation.” In the case of Constand, he said the two were merely “playing sex, we’re playing, petting, we’re playing.”
It was during one such encounter that Constand said the entertainer drugged her and then molested her — prompting her lawsuit. In his deposition, Cosby said he gave her one and a half tablets of Benadryl before they had sexual contact. Her lawyer argued that he had given her a more potent drug.
Elsewhere in the deposition, Cosby admitted to obtaining Quaaludes to give to women in his efforts to have sex with them. “What was happening at that time was that that was — Quaaludes happen to be the drug that kids, young people were using to party with and there were times when I wanted to have them just in case,” he said.
But Cosby noted that he never took the sedatives himself because they made him too sleepy.
“Why didn’t you ever take the Quaaludes?” Constand’s lawyer asked.
“Because I used them,” he replied.
“For what?” she asked.
“The same as a person say would have a drink,” he said.
At several places in the deposition, Cosby described efforts he made to keep the knowledge of his extramarital pursuits from Camille, his wife since 1964.
He admitted that he made a payment to another woman, Therese Serignese, who also claimed that Cosby drugged her and had sex with her during a 1976 encounter in Las Vegas when she was 19 and he was around 39 or 40.
Cosby described the sex and use of Quaaludes as consensual. But when asked if Serignese was in a position to give consent to sex after he gave her the drug, he said: “I don’t know.”
He also testified that his William Morris agent at the time, the late Tom Illus, sent Serignese $5,000 and that he reimbursed Illus from his personal account as opposed to his business account in order to disguise the payment from his wife.
Cosby and his attorneys have repeatedly denied accusations of sexual assault; the number of accusers has risen to nearly 40.
Representatives for Cosby and Constand have not yet responded to calls for comment.

Here are the latest and greatest Trump quotes:
GOP presidential contender Donald Trump attacked Senator John McCain’s military record on Saturday, saying McCain was “not a war hero” because he was captured by North Vietnamese troops while serving in the Vietnam War.
Trump made the remarks during his attendance of the Family Leader Summit in Ames, Iowa in response to McCain’s public criticism of the real estate mogul’s controversial remarks about Mexican immigrants.
“He’s a war hero because he was captured,” said Trump of McCain’s military record. “I like people that weren’t captured.”
Trump, who’s also well-known for hosting NBC’s “The Apprentice,” also revealed that he disliked McCain since his loss to Barack Obama in the 2008 presidential election.
“I never liked him after that,” Trump said. “Because I don’t like losers.”

Trump's ship is going down but he's too stupid to eject. He's gonna die in the crash. lol.
I remember years back Mark Cuban (owner of my beloved Dallas Mavericks) did a reality show that was viewed by many as a knockoff of The Apprentice called "The Benefactor".
After it got cancelled after 1 season, Trump started in on Cuban and how he was a loser and was always a loser and would always BE a loser, and the Mavericks would NEVER win a title until Cuban sold the team because Cuban was such a loser.
Then the Mavericks won a title in 2011, and Trump ain't say shit about THAT. lol.

That's a great song. But I realize that some songs that are in the movie are not on the soundtrack. Like Bubble Gum by Mr. LoCo. This song played when Nacho and Steven went to buy fancy clothes with their "losings".

looking at the reviews on Amazon and on IMDB's message board, that was a big complaint that some songs were in the movie but not on the soundtrack.
I actually compiled my own soundtrack for the movie "Crossing The Bridge" because none was released, and it was some cool 70's rock music. I
I managed to track down every single song (most were easy a few were a bitch, one I still haven't found).

'Trainwreck' Theater Shooting Leaves 3 Dead
Three people died and seven were injured in a shooting Thursday night at a movie theater in Lafayette, Louisiana. The gunman took his own life. Lafayette Police Chief Jim Craft said the victims' injuries range from critical to non-life threatening, according to the Daily Advertiser. Craft described the gunman as a 58-year-old "lone white male" using a handgun, but would not identify him or any of the victims.
Witness Katie Domingue told the paper the shooting occurred at the 7 p.m. showing of Trainwreck. About 20 minutes into the film, she saw "an older white man" stand up and start shooting toward the seats below him. "We heard a loud pop we thought was a firecracker," she said. "He wasn't saying anything. I didn't hear anybody screaming either." She bolted for the exit, leaving her shoes and purse.
Lafayette City Councilman Keith Patin told BuzzFeed that the gunman shot himself just as police arrived on the scene. "I'm at a loss for words," he said. "You go about your daily lives thinking it’s always somewhere else." He said the theater was searched for explosives out of "an abundance of caution," and the town's other theater was closed as well. "We don't know if this was just a random act whether it was a domestic situation," Craft said.
Witnesses in adjacent theaters said they heard faint gunshots, and took off running after they were told over the intercome to evacuate. Jalen Fernell, 20, said once he exited the building he saw one of the victims. "I saw a woman lying on the ground outside with blood everywhere. She was shot in the leg," Fernell said. Theatergoers scattered again as they saw armed police charging into the building. "We didn't know what to do. You're scared to walk through the parking lot, You don't know if the guy's in a car, hiding in the parking lot," Fernell said.
State police, the FBI, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives are on the scene in Lafayette, a city of about 120,000 located in southwestern Louisiana. At an evening press conference, Governor Bobby Jindal said, "As governor, as a father and a husband, whenever we see these senseless acts of violence it makes us both furious and sad a the same time. He added, "We will get through this. We are a resilient community. This is an awful night for Lafayette. This is an awful night for Louisiana. This is an awful night for the United States."

One is an inexplicably wealthy self-obsessed racist with the moral compass of a meth-addled 2-year-old, and the other is a character played by Danny DeVito.

Just watched the Rousey vs Correia fight. That was pretty hardcore. Correia talked way too much shit for her own good and Rousey knocked her out the exact way Correia said she would knock out Rousey. Steels made it ok to the address. Thanks again.
The show, especially the first 15 minutes, feels like he's filming a stage show. Everybody is facing the camera. I couldn't finish the first episode.

Sorry Groo, things are changing on this front...
Disgraced Subway Spokesman Jared Fogle Allegedly Paid 16-Year-Old Girl $100 for Sex
Suspended Subway spokesman Jared Fogle admitted in a text message that he paid a 16-year-old girl $100 for sex.According the claims in a new Business Insider report, the FBI subpoenaed an affidavit that contains text messages sent between Fogle and a former Subway franchisee who he was romantically linked to.Fogle told the unidentified woman to advertise herself on Craigslist for sex with other men. He asked if he can watch the sex acts and said she can make about $500 per act.At one point, she responded, “Is this the same website you found that 16-year-old girl that you f-ked… I still can’t believe you only paid $100 for her.” Fogle allegedly responded, “It was amazing!!!!”The texts are also said to reveal that he asked to meet with the woman’s underage cousin. The woman’s lawyer said she was concerned and shared the texts with Subway’s management at the time, but the company did nothing. Subway, however, said it has no record of her complaint. The age of consent in Fogle’s state Indiana is 16.Subway has since responded to the new allegations on Facebook, writing: “About the most recent news story on Jared Fogle, this allegation, if true, is appalling and is contrary to the values of our brand. As previously stated, we have suspended our relationship with Jared.”

may be creepy but he violated no laws. Indiana the age of consent is 16, and people hook up via Craigslist all the time. Although the paying for sex might trip him up.
Dude's a creeper for sure though.

I blind bought the DVD set when it came out in '07 and was starting to really regret it with all the terrible reactions to Laura's death. But pretty much as soon as Cooper shows up it gets much better. I've watched the show multiple times and I still don't like a lot of the beginning of the pilot.GrooThePerverted wrote:Rusty Cunt wrote:So, just started watching my Twin Peaks series blu-ray.
Is the show any good? I know it gets rave reviews, but ... I'm 15 minutes in, and this is the most horrendously acted and shot thing I've ever seen.
Feels like I'm watching a parody.
That's why I could never get into it. It's filmed horribly...don't know what type of cameras they used but it looked worse than soap operas. Just like people walking around with hand held cameras or some shit.

Police Kill “Active Shooter” Inside Nashville Movie Theater; 3 Pepper-Sprayed By Suspect
3rd UPDATE, 4:23 PM: Carmike Cinemas, which operates the theater where the shooting took place today, has issued a statement: “We are grateful for the quick and professional actions of our staff and all first responders in Antioch and Nashville. The well-being of our guests and employees has been and will continue to be of utmost importance to our organization.”
2nd UPDATE, 4:12 PM: Nashville Police Chief Steve Anderson said in a news conference this afternoon that authorities believe the suspect was a 29-year-old white man who lived in the area, correcting the earlier report that he was 51. Anderson added that the suspect had identification on him but wouldn’t release his name pending positive ID and notification of relatives.
UPDATED, 2:24 PM: People now say there were eight people inside the movie theater when a man armed with a gun and hatchet deployed pepper spray there. Among them were a couple in their 50s and their teenage daughter. Speaking at a news conference today, the father, identified only as Steven, said: “I have no idea why this gentleman decided to attack us. He is, from my understanding, no longer able to answer those questions.” He said he was thankful for the quick response by police, the aid he and his family received from bystanders and that no one was injured other than the gunman. He didn’t take any questions and referred reporters to local authorities.
PREVIOUSLY, 12:15 PM: A SWAT team exchanged gunfire with and killed a man at a movie theater in suburban Nashville today. Police said the suspect had a gun, two backpacks and a hatchet and used pepper spray on theater patrons. Nashville Police PIO Don Aaron said, “The hazardous devices unit has examined the backpack that the suspect was wearing, and they are not comfortable with what they are seeing.” He told reporters the pack will be detonated.
The incident was reported at 1:13 PM during a screening of Mad Max: Fury Road at the Carmike Hickory 8 in Antioch. A man and two women were treated on the scene for exposure to pepper spray used by the gunman, who was wearing a surgical mask and a backpack on his chest. Nashville Fire Department spokesman Brian Haas said the pepper-sprayed man also got a “superficial wound from what could be the hatchet.” He described the injury as a “not much more than a bad bruise” to the shoulder or arm. There are no reports of injuries to moviegoers, police or fire personnel, and no one has been taken to the hospital. “This could have been a lot worse,” Haas told reporters, “and we’re extraordinarily pleased that the police response was so effective and quick on this.”
Aaron told reporters, “The gunman apparently unleashed pepper spray throughout the theater. As additional officers — the SWAT team — entered that theater, it was very thick with chemical spray, with irritant.” Aaron also said, “The only person who was shot was the suspect as he emerged out the rear door.” He described the suspect as a 51-year-old white male but did not identify him. Aaron said Nashville officers were working at the scene of a traffic accident on Bell Road, “just off movie theater property” and civilians ran up to those officers to report “a man with a gun and an ax.” He said a police sergeant entered the theater’s projection room and began “clearing down” from there. He encountered the suspect inside the theater, and the man opened fire on the officer, who returned fire. Aaron said the sergeant “may well have saved multiple individuals inside that theater as officers worked to evacuate everyone in there.”
Aaron said the SWAT team encountered the suspect “some minutes later” at the theater’s rear exit. “There was gunfire, and the gunman is deceased just inside the theater. So we believe the imminent threat is ended.” He added that, “We have a number of witnesses who have been taken to a private facility here on the same property to be interviewed.”The bomb squad is on the scene. and the FBI and ATF are assisting local authorities with the investigation at the shopping center known as Global Mall at The Crossings.
Today’s incident comes less than two weeks after a gunman opened fire at a Trainwreck screening at a theater in Louisiana, killing two people and wounding nine others. That gunman then killed himself inside the theater. It also comes two days after a Colorado jury unanimously agreed to consider the death penalty for Aurora theater shooter James Holmes, who killed 12 people and injured 70 in that 2012 attack

What is up with theater shootings lately? I hadn't heard about this latest one. Pretty soon there will be metal detectors if this continues.

They're happening very randomly and much too frequently and in some cases just very stupid pranks. Did you hear a few days ago about the guys who rushed in through the backdoor of a theater and fired a leafblower up in the middle of a movie?
