I need to purchase TurboTax which costs $90. But if you have Prime, the cost for TurboTax is $55. That's a $35 savings. I'm just applying that $35 to what Amarzon Prime would cost normally and pretending I'm going to purchase the TurboTax full price. : )

It doesn't matter if I get Amarzon Prime or not. Either way, I must get TurboTax. I'm just wondering if I should pay $90 for just TurboTax or pay $155 for both TurboTax and a full year of Amarzon Prime.

That's good stuff. After doing some research it looks like I'll be getting the H&R Block Premium version for $35 after tax. Big savings! Thanks for that, Groo.

It can even import prior year TurboTax stuff.

I'm switching from TurboTax because now I have an option. This year TurboTax changed a lot of their products and are nickel and diming their customers. I hope more people go to H&R Block software.

Last year, I paid $50 for TurboTax Deluxe Federal and State. Now, in order to deal with rental property and investments, TurboTax is forcing users to purchase the Premium version. And their justification on Amazon review replies is bullshit. In order to report Schedule C, D, and E, you have to pay $30 more dollars for Premium. Fuck that.

FYI: H&R Block software can import prior year tax returns from TurboTaxwith no problem.

Yea, fuck you, Bob Meighan. In other words, instead of just making all the software the same and keeping the price the same, we decided to strip out all the relevant items that make "Deluxe" what it is and essentially make "Deluxe" the basic package so we can milk more money out of current users and potential customers.

I seriously hope people read the Amarzon reviews and kick TurboTax to the curb.

Edit: Reading further, it looks like TurboTax Deluxe has removed Schedule C, D, E, F, and K-1 functionality. That's just appalling. I would be fine if they just said "Sorry, guys, but we gotz to raise da prices. Costs be going up, y0." I mean, I would still object to a price increase but at the same time I'd understand because it is a good product. But they are just insulting our intelligence with BS excuses and by reading the Amarzon reviews, they definitely succeeded in annoying a decent population of users.

That being said, Amazon has always been all over the place for me, sometimes things are prepared and shipped super fast, sometime it takes like weeks. While Prime NOW includes all the streaming stuff, it used to be all about expedited/"free" shipping, so if they gave that to everyone, WTF would the point of Prime be?

I did mention to the person I talked to that A. I realized it wasn't HIS fault, he was the lowly person tasked with dealing with irate customers. I've been there so I am very respectful about it. And B. that I don't like to complain about things, I just felt that this had gone on for awhile now and something should be said.  I've placed orders and shit didn't even get processed/prepared for shipping until a WEEK LATER in some instances.  But as a prime member, that shit is processed within 12 hours, sometimes it's processed within the half hour.

I'm fairly non confrontational so I tend to put up with shit for WAY longer than I imagine most people would.  Much easier than me having to get into some back and forth, and if the other person is a douchebag about it, that just makes me feel like shit even worse because I just hate dealing with people.

But I do think that voicing cocerns, not necessarily "complaining", is a valuable weapon to be used.  Sadly people abuse that and just complain about any/everything just to get a few bucks savings or whatever.
