The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 ($639,820,222)
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 now brings the franchise to its powerful fourth chapter in which Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) now fully realizes the stakes are no longer just for survival -- they are for the future. With the nation of Panem in a full scale war, Katniss confronts President Snow (Donald Sutherland) in the final showdown.
Teamed with a group of her closest friends – including Gale (Liam Hemsworth), Finnick (Sam Claflin), and Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) – Katniss goes off on a mission with the unit from District 13 as they risk their lives to stage an assassination attempt on President Snow who has become increasingly obsessed with destroying her. The mortal traps, enemies, and moral choices that await Katniss will challenge her more than any arena she faced in The Hunger Games.
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 hits theaters on November 20th.

I saw this tonight. I was thinking since it's been over a month and everybody is seeing Star Wars as many times as possible it'd be pretty empty. I was wrong.
I heard it was really good, but I thought it was just OK.

I saw the first HG film in theaters but figured I'd wait for the full experience before watching the rest. I've been waiting years to find out if they'd do it on screen but were these two huge death moments from the book in the movie?
- Spoiler:
- Finnick getting decapitated and Prim getting blown up?

Given that this franchise has grossed over $1.5 billion just at the box office, how long before you think they move on those rumored prequels?

Picked up the Blu-ray yesterday and gave it a watch.
Not the most engrossing film of the series. Probably would have enjoyed it more had I watch part 1 immediately prior, but, from what I remember of part 1, I don't see why this had to be a complete separate film. I found myself fast-fowarding through most of the action scenes.
Prim's death was meaningless. The only purpose it served was to give Jen a reason for not settling down with Hemsworth at the end.
Definitely the weakest link in the franchise.

I watched it about a week ago and forgot to post. I agree, Rust, I felt the same way you did. Splitting them probably wasn't a wise choice, I'd rather it be a longer movie and cut out the unnecessary parts. They could have made it work.
What I liked the most was the Hunger Games. Without that, the movie doesn't seem interesting to me. I enjoyed the first 2 more I think.

Exactly. The final Mockingjay 2 part series, should have been one epic Hunger Game of revenge ... but it wasn't. It was just ... meh.
Such a shame, as going by her filmography, it'll probably be the last of Jen's films I'll have any interest in seeing.
