The Outsiders is of the greatest ensembles ever put together and it was before any of them became huge stars.
Look at all of these baby faced bastards....

C Thomas played nothing but good guys until he got old and grey, then he grew a goatee and became tv's #1 choice to play every long absent father with a hidden dark agenda.

Just finished this one. It was aiight. Jared Leto doesn't speak very much in this one so that helped.
I'm not sure how I feel about the ending. Seemed like it was non-conclusive.
Not recommended. If you have nothing else to watch, watch something else.

Seems we came to the same conclusions.
My post "for posterity".

I didn't watch a trailer or see any promotion, it just showed up on Netflix and I pressed play. I was expecting Jared Leto's take on American Ninja since the picture was him with a Katana but it wasn't anything like that. He doesn't talk much throughout the film which turns out to be a very good thing as they let the Japanese cast mostly carry the dialogue though unfortunately the Katana plays almost no part in the film, everybody uses pistols.
It was an interesting film in which Leto didn't really seem to anger me but I was left with some big questions unanswered especially this felt like the beginning of a series more than a standalone. Though watching 135lbs of Leto stroll through the streets of Osaka as one of the biggest men in town was kind of shocking, lol.

Spooky!
I definitely agree this seemed more like a pilot now that you re-mentioned it. Maybe a 10 episode series.

It could have been given a limited series run cause it felt like only the very beginning of the story.

Got around to finally watching it and Leto didn't have that much dialogue at all. It was more staring and listening. Story was good but it didn't have as much violence as I would have wanted for a Yakuza movie, just a couple of brutal kills here and there. Ending definitely felt like the beginning of the story. But if the ending happened in the second act of the story then it would've felt a little rushed as well. I took the ending to mean that he finally had their respect and was now their leader so it would've been cool to see what happened next.
Was surprised to see Emile Hirsch in it though, that was cool.
