Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out Of The Shadows ($245,442,212)
“Earth to Echo” director Dave Green is in early talks to direct “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2″ for Paramount, Nickelodeon Movies and Platinum Dunes, multiple individuals familiar with the project have told TheWrap.
Directed by Jonathan Liebesman, the first film left the door open for Megan Fox and Will Arnett to return alongside our reptilian heroes in a half shell — Leonardo (Pete Ploszek), Raphael (Alan Ritchson), Michelangelo (Noel Fisher) and Donatello (Jeremy Howard). Paramount wanted to take a new approach and decided to open the director search.
With a 22% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, critics may have dismissed “TMNT,” but the movie was a big hit with kids, grossing $477 million worldwide, but Paramount wanted to take a new approach and decided to open the director search. . The film reignited the “Turtles” franchise, which offers no shortage of lucrative merchandising opportunities.
Josh Applebaum and Andre Nemec are returning to write and executive produce the sequel, which is slated to hit theaters on June 3, 2016 in order to keep the momentum of the franchise going.
Michael Bay will produce with his Platinum Dunes partners Brad Fuller and Andrew Form as well as Scott Mednick and Galen Walker.
“Earth to Echo” was made for approximately $13 million and went on to gross $39 million at the domestic box office, effectively tripling its production budget in the U.S. alone. and proving that Green’s work can appeal to kids.

TMNT 2 Shooting Begins in March
The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are coming to New York — and they’re bringing some serious green with them.
The action flick sequel, “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2,” will begin filming next month in New York City and Buffalo, which officials estimate will result in $70 million in spending.
The bulk of that money — $63 million — will be spent in the Big Apple, according to Paramount.
"New York City knows how to host blockbuster films," said Mayor de Blasio.
“We welcome ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2’ to New York City, and look forward to the many jobs and tens of millions of jobs this will bring to our local economy.”The sequel of the heroes in a half shell will film in New York City and Buffalo, and is estimated to bring $70 million in spending to the state, with $63 million being spent in the city.
The details of where the shoots will take place and what stars are featured are being kept under wraps.
“We can only imagine what the filmmakers have in store,” said Cynthia Lopez, commissioner of the mayor's office of media and entertainment.
The movie will be in theaters in June 2016.

I wonder if Be-Bop and Rocksteady are still supposed to be the villains.

I like Pratt a lot but I still couldn't finish it. Boretista had a major impact on this but I also just found myself not caring how it ended or really caring at all about a talking tree or an angry raccoon. Then again nobody here should be surprised by this as I've never had any interest in their comics either but Marvel never did know how to draw me in without Frank Castle or Blade on the cover. If I ever get the urge to finish Guardians I'll just go watch infomercials instead cause it's the same level of interest for me.

Re: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out Of The Shadows ($245,442,212)
This may change before the movie is released, but for now it seems the TMNT sequel is going with the subtitle "Half-Shell"; as in, heroes in a. This was revealed by Los Angeles Clippers player J.J. Redick, who will appear in the movie along with team-mates Austin Rivers, Matt Barnes, Spencer Hawes, and DeAndre Jordan. Their scenes were shot during the week, and also involve Will Arnett and new cast member Alessandra Ambrosio.
Re: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out Of The Shadows ($245,442,212)
Stephen Amell has been tapped to play Casey Jones in “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2″ for Paramount and Platinum Dunes.
Megan Fox is set to return as April O’Neil. Will Arnett is also returning. David Green is directing the pic. Plot details and information on other returning cast members are still unknown.
A loner who becomes an ally of the turtles and a love interest for O’Neil, Jones is a fan favorite of the series going back to when Elias Koteas played him in the 1990 New Line pic.
Michael Bay is producing along with his Platinum Dunes partners Brad Fuller and Andrew Form. Josh Appelbaum and André Nemec are penning the script.
Amell tested with a half-dozen actors over the weekend, but it was his chemistry with Fox that led to the studio eventually giving the role to the star of CW’s “Arrow.” Paramount had no comment on the casting.
The “Turtles” franchise is one of Paramount’s top properties following its success last summer, when it earned $191 million domestically — so much so that Paramount dated the sequel for 2016 before even locking down a director or cast.

You'll probably love it but I just can't get past my Boretista hatred, he's just dead weight, drift wood. Makes Kristen Stewart look like Angelina Jolie.

I had no idea who he was when I watched it. Didn't detract from how horrible he was. 5 seconds of screen time and the damage was done. Got difficult to take the rest of the movie seriously.

Congrats Amell! I was wondering why we didn't see Jones in the first one. This one might actually be better than the first one.
I really hated how they made the Turtles giants though. It really bugs me.

FAN ART: Stephen Amell As 'Casey Jones'
We found out yesterday that Stephen Amell would be playing vigilante Casey Jones in the TMNT sequel, and the ever-reliable Boss Logic is already on the case with both masked and mask-less versions. See if you can spot all the nods to his Arrow character...

Yeah, but the hair doesn't work. I have a feeling they're going to go with a new look for Casey in this modern take, perhaps short and dark haired.

I was going to say the same thing. Remembering his hair during Island time on Arrow, long hair really doesn't suit Amell. Long enough to comb, or comb back, maybe, but not shoulder length. Looks funny on him.

I'd be perfectly fine if his hair looks like it does normally. A man's hair never effects my interest in a movie.

'Bebop' & 'Rocksteady' Confirmed
It seems the mutated warthog (Bebop) and rhino (Rocksteady) TMNT villains will indeed be causing problems for the Heroes in a Half Shell in the upcoming sequel to the recent live-action reboot. This won't be too surprising to fans of the franchise, as the characters were originally supposed to show up in the first film but were cut because of perceived overcrowding. Bebop and Rocksteady weren't actually original comic creations, and made their debut in the '80s cartoon -- but they've gone on to become two of the most popular Turtles baddies out there; and were recently responsible for an incredibly shocking moment in the current comic series.
No word on which actors will bring life to these beasts, but they'll join Megan Fox as April O'Neil, Will Arnett as Vernon Fenwick, and newcomer Stephen Amell as Casey Jones. Teenage Mutant Turtles 2 (working title "Half-Shell") is set to hit theaters on June 3, 2016.

Tyler Perry is 'Baxter Stockman'
Joining classic villains Bebop and Rocksteady in the upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles sequel will be another fan-favourite character from TMNT canon, Baxter Stockman; and according to Variety he'll be played by none other than Tyler Perry. There have been several different incarnations of this sycophantic scientist over the years, but he's usually depicted as one of Shredder's lackeys and the man who creates the lethal Mouser robots. Oh, and there's also a good chance he'll become a mutant fly.
Perry, who was last seen as Ben Affleck's attorney in Gone Girl, joins Megan Fox, Will Arnett, and Stephen Amell in the sequel which Michael Bay is producing along with his Platinum Dunes partners Brad Fuller and Andrew Form. Josh Appelbaum and André Nemec are penning the script. Production is set to start next month.

The car they used in the first movie was too small so this looks like an appropriate size. Can't make them bigger than this obviously.

Casey has a digicam mask but otherwise it's completely normal looking. I was expecting something much more extreme.

Maybe by the end of the film. Didn't expect him to be shooting this early though.

Casey is going to have a major role just like in the original and hopefully he comes back for the sequels, I'd imagine he signed for multiple films too.
It's not just a cameo role, it's how he's spending his Arrow hiatus.

Casey doesn't look bad. I like that they kept him simple to begin with and didn't go OTT.

April is doing some undercover work, she was probably unfired after her "crazy" talk about Turtles proved to be not so crazy when they ended up landing in the middle of an afternoon city street hanging off that tower with her and lots of people taking their pictures. She probably got promoted, either that or she's undercover in porn. Either way, I'm pretty much down for whatever she's got going on in that outfit.
Laird and Eastman created the TMNT. Knowing this, separates the true Turtle fans from everybody else. Guess we know which one you are.

Kevin Eastman was a consultant on the first movie.
It was Peter Laird who hated the script.
Those two guys created something amazing over 30 years ago but I don't believe they've even spoken in the last twenty.
A lot of the most iconic TMNT stuff though came from the animated series which was geared entirely towards toy sales, which is where Beepop and Rocksteady came from. The color bandanas we all know them by, weren't even introduced until TMNT was adapted for tv, the comics were all black and white.

So there I am looking through all the BTS shots mostly they seem to be of Megan Fox wearing the hell outta some tight ass jeans but then I suddenly see a surprise cameo by a very familiar face. I hadn't heard anything about Judith's casting, that's great especially since it looks like they'll be shooting together too.
